Ring Ka King: Missing A Big Name?

Ferreira

SORRY! About you damn luck!
I watched both episodes of Ring Ka King, it was fine, I loved that they treated Chavo Guerrero properly as others guys like Sonjay Dutt, that are very talented but in general underrated.

Ring Ka King looks to be a good project by TNA Wrestling and Endemol and only time will tell if they will have sucess or not. It doesn't only depends on ratings, it depends also on how Ring Ka King affects TNA in general.

So, with that in mind and it the obvious plot going on about the faction that wants to take control of Ring Ka King and their World Title, seems to me that Jeff Jarrett will return to action in India in the next few weeks. And that's fine, he is probably the biggest name on the company to be a part of that project.

But, to me, there is someone missing, someone that could really make a huge impact on India, I'm talking about Sting, Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan. Sure they are old, and I don't want any of them to wrestle, but any of these guys could hype the hell out of Ring Ka King, even if they did only one appearence, they are that damn good.

Do you think TNA will use them in the future or will they keep it out of the project?

rob van dam and bobby lashley have reportedly been linked but i see what you mean i loved the first few episodes also hope the standard stays as high

It is sad knowing that Jeff Jarret right now is going to be there biggest name over there. I hope he doesn't base the show on himself again like he did in TNA a few years back.

But, I do agree with you that they need a big name over there. I personally would enjoy seeing Kurt Angle go over there and show India what a wrestling machine can do. He would be a good fight and him and Chavo could put on some great matches. Hate on Chavo be he is a damn good wrestler and him and Angle could tear the roof off the building. I still to watch the episodes but I will try to catch them tomorrow during my 17 hour shift I have ahead of me.

So, I would love to see Angle head over there and kick some ass and snap some ankles!

I don't think it need a big name. The idea is to make the people they have bigger. It's notable with the likes of Magnus, Morgan and Veera getting the main spotlight so quickly. It's a new experience with these people who these kinds of stars there on a regular basis. They can give as much a massive pop to a Matt Morgan as they can to a Rob Van Dam because both are known guys touching that soil for a consistent basis.

People gave huge pop's to Matt Morgan when he toured Puerto Rico and that was before his time in TNA. It was because of his time in WWE. Which wasn't much. But fan's still popped. Why? Because he was known and was in our soil.

Says the folks who aren't the target audience. I do believe they've got the Pele of Indian cricket running the festivities, don't they?

We aren't talking about a hardcore, dedicated audience familiar with years of wrestling history. We're talking about a small niche of fans which fit that description, and a broad array of new fans that the enterprise is trying to attract, creating a teenage to young adult professional wrestling market in India, whereas previously it has been a child-targeted industry. So a "big star" is completely unnecessary. They can import American stars that the audience can be told are big stars. Hulk Hogan or Kurt Angle aren't going to make Indian teenagers start thinking wrestling is cool.

That's what people have to recognize about Ring Ka King- there are very, very few people here who are in the target market for the show. Don't judge it based on what you'd like to see, but on how its targeted fans respond to it.
