Right To Censor

The Handsome Devil
I was just thinking, what with the PG-13 rule and all, did right to censor finally prevail? lol. But really, could there be a right to censor group again? Could it be more successful this time around? Who could be in it? But most importantly, could they be a face stable?

I didn't have a problem with RTC really, they were a good enough group of wrestlers, not particularly talented, but not too bad, but it kind of pushed even stevie richards mic skills to the forefront (as it would with any stable leader). God only knows the mid card needs gimmicks right now, maybe an upper carder or two in on the act as well to give it the extra push.

Maybe Right to Censor is not the best way to go with a name though, but for members of the group, I was thinking along the lines of CM Punk as the leader. Turning heel, getting cocky, the whole straight edge thing going on, with maybe a couple of lower card wrestlers, but all must be non hardcore for obvious reasons. Maybe a feud with Jeff Hardy (the drugs etc.) and Cryme Tyme (the uh...crime) could work?

Or if they managed to do this as a face stable, maybe a whole 'anti drugs' group, and reformed criminal stuff would help clean up the image further. Ron Killings, MVP, both reformed criminals could really appeal to kids and their parents watching in a very cheesy way, but it could work. Really push the 'wholesome family entertainment' angle for them. What do you think tough?

I have said it many times before, Right to censor would be PERFECT for the PG rating era. They came in at a time where the PTC were putting pressure on the WWF, the used it to get rid of a porn star, a man with hos, stopped an over the top rope topless match and stopped the Mr Ass gimmick. Did anyone say oh noes the era is crap? NO they were like grr fricking RTC stopping our fun. Ie shifting blame from Vince. It works well on both parts.

I thought we were going to see it in July of last year with val venis and Stevie Richards but then Stevie was wished well in future endeavours. It would be a good idea to deal with the non PG things, however you do need Stevie and he's in TNA at the moment which is a shame.

People stereotype the PG rating to be sunshine and rainbows

May I remind you what parental guidance actually is:

Parental Guidance Suggested
This program contains material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children. Many parents may want to watch it with their younger children. The theme itself may call for parental guidance and/or the program may contain one or more of the following: some suggestive dialogue (D), infrequent coarse language (L), some sexual situations (S), or moderate violence (V).

Edit: Okay, I assumed what this post was going to about. My fault. But yeah, cool ideas. I mentioned that in an earlier post of mine, MVP could be used to appeal to children not to make the mistakes he did.

Would RTC work today?.....hrm 2 that I would have 2 say...not at all. I think that they wont work because, come on the WWE is already censored..so its like contradicting being in the whole PG era and all. Now the time that the stable was going on that was kinda the best time 2 b around cause the WWF/WWE was still in its Attitude Era with its provacative storylines and badass over the top characters...and now I dont think the stable would go over as much as it would/should have during that time. I mean how many characters now and days are over the top in the way of the acolytes with bradshaw and farooq with their backstage segments when theyre playing poker and drinking as well as the feuds with mr.ass billy gunn and chyna when she had posed for playboy...its not really the same...jeff hardy drug use or mvp and r truths criminal background wouldnt really justify their existince...and as far as cryme tyme I can honestly say that they would b the only ones that can fit the bill for a proper feud with a new RTC...so yeah in conclusion I believe that they wont go over and its not necessary as much as I would like it......

The only reason I will give it a no is because in order to censor something, something has to air that would need to be censored, which clearly isn't going to happen. The R- Truth and MVP have criminal backgrounds is a very weak basis. RTC flopped, and they had very good angles to work with. A new version woule have horrible angles, and would undoubtedly flop.

hahaa. I was actually joking about this with a friend recently.
I think it would work today. There`s always something to censor. The only time I thought they were interesting is when the feuded with APA and the King but I never found them that terrible...they were kinda fun.

there's a difference in TV-PG Nevada11

there's just plain TV-PG, TV-PG L, TV-PG L V, TV-PG D L V, and TV-PG D S L V

between 2001-2002 wwe was TV-PG D S L V

and yes while it does mean parental guidance it doesn't mean that its gonna be that extreme

i think fans (like myself) who are used to, or grew up watching wwe when it had the language, extreme violence, and sex have a right to be bitter
it just sucks that we have to suffer through wwe being watered down to make a couple bucks off children

the rock, stone cold, mick foley, scott hall, or the godfather could never return during this horrible era!

Don't watch it then :).

RTC return would be AMAZING. I always liked them, and this era would definitely work with them moreso than any previous one. They'd also gain a lot of heel heat quickly, both from idiots who bitch about the PG era constantly, and people who wanted to see a diva bikini contest before RTC 'censored' it. Haha, I'm laughing now, this would be great.
