Report: The Voice Of The Voiceless Marries A Crazy Chick

YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH!!!!
According to a report from PWInsider.com, the site is confirming rumors that CM Punk and AJ Lee are now hubby and wifey. The report claims that they were married in a small, private ceremony that took place either very late Friday night to very early Saturday morning.

For the past several months, Punk seems to have been just flat out enjoying life and has been seen attending various sporting events. To my knowledge, they were only engaged several months back and AJ put in a request to get some time off sometime prior to WrestleMania in order to complete moving to Chicago. She dropped the Divas Championship to Paige the night after WrestleMania and hasn't been seen since.

I'm wondering if her marriage & personal life will in any way conflict with each other. IF all the reports we've read are true the past several months, then CM Punk & WWE management aren't exactly on the best of terms. Neither side has told exactly what went down and various rumors have run rampant. So far as I know, AJ herself is still on good terms with the company even if Punk isn't. As a result, it makes me wonder if Punk is personally cool with AJ going back to work for WWE and if WWE management can be professional enough not to use AJ's marriage to CM Punk against her somehow. It's tempting to say "of course all sides can get along", but pro wrestling personalities aren't always known to be reasonable. We know that Vince McMahon can hold onto bitter feelings for decades, the hatefulness of the man's grudges are the stuff of legend. We also know that CM Punk has a pretty healthy sized ego as well who allegedly enjoys being provocatively confrontational.

At any rate, here's hoping things come out smelling like roses, especially for AJ because it'd genuinely be a damn shame to see this young woman's career and/or personal life is damaged because of some wounded male egos.

It seems unworkable to me. Punk isn't going to want to travel behind the WWE tour with his wife, nor is he going to want to see her 2 or 3 days a week. I'm betting she's not that keen on giving up her career either.
Either Punk returns or AJ quits, that's what it comes down to.

Well at least this reveals why AJ hasn't been on TV lately and I would suspect that she is at least on good terms with the company. I'm doubting she is done with WWE as she asked for time off instead of an outright release.

She didn't do anything wrong. As far as we know she didn't demand time off. Rather she requested it and it was granted being forthcoming about the reasons. Even knowing she was getting time off WWE had her win against mostly every other Diva at WrestleMania and she only lost the title to Paige on Raw the next night because she was taking the aforementioned time off.

This is the time for other Divas to shine and if they can shine brighter than AJ has the past few years good for them.

EDIT: Loveless, every road performer in WWE and otherwise with a spouse and/or family has had to deal with this sort of thing. I'm sure or at least hoping that Punk and AJ discussed this prior to getting married.

Maybe I'm being really hopeful here but I'm guessing life shouldn't be too hard for AJ when/if she comes back. On Punk side I don't see him being so petty that he would want her to give up her career/dream over his beef with the WWE, and even then it's not like he can really stop her if she really wanted to come back. Would be a VERY short marriage if he actually tried.

On the WWE's side things can get a lot more dicey, I would like to think that she's their biggest Diva in terms of money making but then again I have no idea how much dough Total Divas is raking in for them, which she obviously isn't a part of. Still in terms of skill and popularity she easily overshadows most of her competition, so I would hope that would be enough to let her continue her successful career. And of course there's that line of thinking where if they do want Punk to eventually come back giving his wife a hard time wouldn't be a good idea.

Well first of all Congrats on Punk and AJ for being Wifey and Hubby.. Congrats again.. I think that Punk is totally fine with AJ going back to work,i dont see him being a control freak with other people.. He always has marched to his own drummer, this marriage surprises me a little bit considering from what we have heard from his personality..

I think the WWE wont use AJ lee marriage against her, their more professional than that me thinks.. I dont doubt CM Punks ego,im sure its ample, but even his ego cant be that big right?? AJ is an excellent Diva, when she returns she will be welcomed back with open arms, and to go claim back her divas title..

It would be a shame if the higher ups uses her marriage against her just to stick it to CM Punk.. I dont see it happening but you never know

First of all, I'm surprised that a notorious pantsman like Punk would settle down with one woman, after shagging half of the Divas locker-room, past and present. I'm still reeling that Justin Timberlake is still married, considering his womanizing ways as well.

But, maybe Punk's plan is to knock up A.J. early, and then she will have to quit to look after babies. Maybe that is Punk's "evil" plan after all.

This is why pushing Paige becomes so important.

A.J. is the main Diva on the roster, but she may quit soon, either because Punk wants her to, or she has babies. So they then need a replacement, another Diva to build the division around.

If Vince saw sense, he would see that Paige would be able to fit that role perfectly as top Diva. She can wrestle, has a unique look, so she stands out, is over with the crowds, and, at 21 and a life dedicated to wrestling, is unlikely to marry off and quit anytime soon. She has many years in her, and could be the Trish or Lita of the Divas down the track.

It's a good thing that 2 people can find happiness but its VERY rare that two wrestling personalities can genuinely find it together while active in the business. Some couples like Nattie and Tyson have been together since their teens, so they don't really count. Edge also ran through most of the locker room as did Beth Pheonix before they hooked up and pretty much left the business together.

There is precedent here and it didn't work out so well... Jerry Lawler and the Kat... only this time Punk walked out BEFORE they fired his wife. When Vince gets frustrated, he'll take it out on AJ... when Punk says something bad about WWE, she will take the flak, it's inevitable. But the reality is what more can AJ ACTUALLY do in the WWE, she had a long reign by modern standards and did most of the angles possible... The only remotely interesting reason to bring her back was if she was really Sister Abigail... other than that it's not actually a bad thing if she does leave and pop out loads of mini Punks... With kids to support, Phil might get motivated again.

It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. One things for sure, I'd love her to cut a promo on her return & say "You may now refer to me as AJ Brooks!".

I am very happy for them and hope that they will have a good life together. I still doubt that Punk will ever return, although this news makes me wonder if AJ will be returning at all now either. It would be great to see her come back to feud with Paige or Emma, but she may very well be done. The first year is a hurdle. If she does remain active, let alone if both do, it could potentially create a lit of problems for them since married life is incredibly difficult to adjust to. Best of luck to Punk and AJ though, congratulations to them on the marriage. :)

Happy for Punk but who cares. Jack-Hammer created this thread because of how little life he has and thats fine but I think there is no need to speculate on how they will co-exist in their marriage. Should we take their odds of staying together too and bet them in Vegas? Ask a wrestling related question that matters please and maybe the internet community will get a little more respect then just always bashing characters, talking about nonsense, and being a bunch of nerds who live in their moms basement which you probably are. I wish Punk and AJ the Absolute best in their marriage and I know they will figure this out. Two great performers, some of the best in their era and we could really use both of you back in the WWE, TNA, ROH, or any other promotion.

Except it is relevant, especially if Punk doesn't intend on returning. Vince isn't exactly known for putting egos aside and has in the past punished people for the actions of their spouses or boyfriend/girlfriends just because he could.

There's also the fact that Punk may be wanting to do the whole family thing which could mean AJ out due to pregnancy.

These are entirely plausible situations that could result in losing AJ from the divas division indefinitely.

While Punk's actions in the past have been "questionable", I don't think the guy would mess with his new wife's career to the point he'd ask her to not go back. I'm sure she's strong-minded enough to not put the career she's dreamed of since she was a little girl in jeopardy, whatever Punk may say/feel about the company, or however infatuated she might be right now with him. Some may strongly disagree with me, which I get, but I think it's at the point right now where the WWE, and more specifically the Divas division need AJ Lee more than the WWE need CM Punk back. AJ Lee/Paige in a lengthy feud has to happen for the Divas division to stay relevant. I love Paige and I'm a big fan of hers, but her getting scrappy wins over mediocre divas isn't doing much for her or the interest in the division right now.

I know things change, but about a year ago I watched and listened to an interview with AJ about how much she loved WWE, and how she still can't believe she's part of it, how she marks out for certain wrestlers etc etc. I can't see her suddenly wanting out from the one thing she's dreamed of doing her whole life, just one year later. Unless Punk is some kind of demon in the sack. (I know, sorry!).

I think it would be great television after DBry gets his title back, if CM and AJ show up and kick the living heck out of DBry and Bella twin....

Ahhh a wonderful world it would be....

AJ would probably be better off getting out of town while the getting is good.

Let's look at the facts: Over the past two years, she has undeniably been the most popular Diva on the roster, and held the Diva's title for a very long time. What exactly is there for her to accomplish if she returns? The answer: very little. On top of that, there is a high likelihood that she is going to have to deal with a metric ton of spite from McMahon. While the WWE may want to extend the olive branch to Punk because they see potential dollar signs there, they will have compunction about treating AJ poorly in the meantime. The lifespan of a WWE diva is less than 4 years...AJ would begin butting up against that time real soon even if she came back.

It is one of those times, right? Personal life / career vs marriage/family matters.

Vince and Punk obviously do not see eye to eye, there is bad blood between them. Will that affect AJ? If you are a businessman, like Vince, then you must not involve Punk in AJ's career. We know that Vince holds grudges though, if he doesn't like people etc. We don't know really. As someone said, they had AJ win at WM and only lost the title on Raw next day because she requested time off. They are probably high on AJ because it brought the division some relevancy. Even though Paige is accepted nicely by the crowd, the Divas division can't be carried on one woman alone. They need AJ as much as they need Paige and every other Diva that can actually wrestle.

I think Vince will see that there is some money to be made in Paige vs AJ. This alone might be enough to not hold AJ back on any aspect.

Now, for Punk. I don't know how he feels, I don't even know how I would feel. If things have gone so wrong between Punk and the WWE, I think that the most logical thing to do is stop offering them any way to succeed. Let's not deny it, AJ will make the Divas division succeed. On the other side, AJ will be making good money. Obviously, Punk shouldn't be selfish about it and let AJ do as she likes. They have obviously talked about this before they got married, and apparently they agreed on what they want to do. Life on the road is tough, AJ will travel all the time, Punk will be missing her all the time. Maybe they don't care that much about that though. Hopefully, they are not the type of couple that have to be together all the time, do things together all the time. They seem for chilled about it and I like that. I think everything will work well in the end.

Pure speculation but I don't think that Punk will settle for his career to end on a walk out. There's too much of an old school mentality there to let his legacy end like that. He might be gone until WrestleMania or he might gone two years, but he'll be back for one more run. I have a feeling that WWE knows this and that's why the complete hatchet job has not been done on him--only the occasional shots taken here and there. AJ Lee on her own was the most relevant diva in years. She will be treated with respect and the hope that when Punk comes back they can book the inevitable Mr. and Mrs. Punk Vs. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Vs Mr. and Mrs. Levesque.
But...given Punk's propensity for bedding wrestling divas, perhaps AJ should simply keep him at home (and away from Paige).

I've never cared less about a wrestling topic really

Phil Brooks and AJ Lee got married. Nothing more deserved than just a casual shrug and saying "eh, good for them".

I knew this would happen although i expected a longer engagement. Of course I'm happy for both of them I always thought they went fairly well together since they like mostly the same things. I doubt this will affect AJ's career in the least. She's the top diva there and Punk knows what road life is like so he'll be a bit more understanding versus some guy who has never been in the business. Of course wrestling relationships have never been known to last i.e Stone Cold/Debra and more famously, Randy Savage/Elizabeth. But I think they'll be ok. With married life, you get out what you put in so I think they'll be fine. I don't see Punk ending his career on a walk out. But then again, we don't know his mentality. If he is done, then I don't know if I see AJ staying too much longer if only to finish out her current contract. But we'll see. Again, congrats to the newly married couple.

^This.

You guys who are on here psychoanalyzing their relationship are pathetic. Probably the same men (and I use that term loosely) who watch Total Divas and get caught up with celebrity gossip.
