Assuming they actually go with those 5 matches at WrestleMania, that's got to be one of the worst WrestleMania cards in history. Let's analyze this a little closer shall we.
Batista vs. Randy Orton for the WWE World Title
This match will not work. It is abundantly clear that the fans are not buying into Batista as a face whatsoever. These guys will get the Lesnar/Goldberg treatment which is a shame because I don't really have a problem with them individually as performers. It would simply be irresponsible on the part of the booking team to send these guys out there to get eaten alive by the audience. At this point they know the crowd at Mania will shit on this, so it's absolutely mind-boggling that they would want to push forward. It's not a draw and it will accomplish nothing.
Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
I have repeatedly said that John Cena should be the one to challenge the Undertaker's streak at this year's WrestleMania, and I cannot for the life of me understand why they wouldn't want to go in that direction. WrestleMania 30 is a pretty big milestone for the company so it makes sense to have one of the biggest legends of all time, the guy who is undefeated at WrestleMania, take on the face of the company and biggest star of the modern era. Undertaker vs. Cena is such a no-brainer, and would be so fun to watch. Look, the crowd is going to be hot for the Undertaker's Mania match, regardless of the opponent, so they'll probably be into Taker vs. Lesnar. But at the same time, no one believes a part-timer like Lesnar will be the one to end the streak, nor should he be. Cena would be far more believable as he is a guy with a huge track record of winning the big match and overcoming the odds. Plus, the fans really really really wouldn't want Cena to end the streak, so the possibility that he might is that much more scary and would have the audience on the edge of their seat for every near fall.
CM Punk vs. Triple H
This would be a good match. Both are these guys are solid in-ring performers, Punk is over as a face, Triple H has a shitload of heat and really knows how to work heel. I'm doubtful that they'll be able to build enough personal animosity between these guys to turn this into the huge grudge match they want/need it to be. Punk and Triple H are both great on the mic though so they could maybe pull it off. Time will tell. This probably not the best way to utilize Punk at this year's Mania, but it's not offensive either.
Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus
This is offensive. Anybody who has been even remotely paying attention knows how hot Daniel Bryan is right now and knows that he should win the Title on the grandest stage of them all. To shove him into a middle of the card match like this is insulting to the audience. Also, Sheamus doesn't need to turn heel. He's over as a face right now, and the WWE needs guys the fans actually want to cheer for. Sheamus is a great worker, who has proven himself numerous times in pay-per-view matches. If this match were to happen it would be a great match, pretty much whatever match Bryan is in at Mania will be memorable because the crowd will be so fanatic, but this is definitely not the best way to take advantage with Bryan's momentum.
If they do this, the angle they'll likely go with is Bryan pinning Sheamus in the Chamber, then Sheamus Brogue Kicking Bryan to cost him the match in the end, allowing Orton to retain. They'll hype how Sheamus ruined Bryan's dream of headlining a WrestleMania to try and build heat on him. The fans will hate Sheamus and cheer the hell out of Bryan, but will still be furious that Bryan isn't in the Title match and will let the company know. Loudly.
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
Like I said before, Cena is needed elsewhere. Bray Wyatt made his debut this past summer, he's been around for less than a year, he doesn't need a match with John Cena at WrestleMania 30. Of course, being involved in a feud with Cena at Mania is going to help Wyatt get over, but the costs of using Cena here greatly outweigh the benefits.
So yeah, if this really turns out to be the card, you can put me in the "not excited" camp. I have my doubts that the WWE would actually go with this, but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised. Needless to say, this would be an underwhelming and frustrating WrestleMania, and not the WrestleMania that anyone wants to see. The name WrestleMania alone goes a long way towards selling the event, and I'm sure a lot of people with watch on the WWE Network because the Network itself is such a great deal, it's just a shame that what they will end up watching could be a WrestleMania of missed opportunities and spiteful booking. I'm still hopeful that logic will prevail though and we won't end up seeing this card.
