This is a first round 5-on-5 Survivor Series Match in the 2010 Wrestlezolympics. This match follows traditional Survivor Series rules. Once one team has eliminated all 5 men on the opposing team via pinfall, submission, count-out, or DQ, the match ends, and the surviving team advances.

The match will open for discussion on Friday, January 29th, and voting will begin on Saturday, January 30th. This is a non-spam thread, so if you decide to post, you must provide reasons why you are backing a particular wrestler. You may vote without posting.

To make discussion interesting, please take the time to explain who wins / loses falls and who the surviving wrestlers will be.

WHEN VOTING, YOU MAY ONLY VOTE FOR MEMBERS OF ONE TEAM OR THE OTHER. ONLY VOTE FOR THOSE WRESTLERS YOU FEEL WILL SURVIVE AND BE STANDING AT THE END OF THE MATCH!!!

Angle, Michaels, Hogan, Austin, & Van Dam vs Dynamite, Davey, Regal, Piper, and Nigel

Nigel eliminated after Hogan leg drop
Van Dam eliminated by Piper with rollup and tight hold.
Austin and Piper counted out.
Michaels eliminated by Regal after Brass Knuckles shot.
Hogan disqualified after taking Knucks from Regal and being caught with them.
Angle eliminated Regal with Olympic Slam after Hogan blasts Regal on his way out.
(20 minutes later)
Kid eliminated Angle with Super Diving Headbutt/Fireman's Cary Combo.

Winners: Team UK
Survivors: The British Bulldogs

Van Dam eliminated by Kid after missed frog splash followed by small package.
Austin and Regal counted out due to brawling through the crowd
Piper eliminates himself after long back and forth with Hogan after defecting due to not being British although still recieves Stunner from returning Austin who is escorted from ringside.
Davey eliminates hogan by knocking him unconscious with a chair whilst ref distracted by Piper
Micheals eliminates Nigel with superkick after long back and forth
Davey eliminates Micheals with sharpshooter
Davey eliminates Angle when Kid uses Super Diving Headbutt directly onto Angle who is applying grapevine ankle lock to Davey.

In the end despite being double-crossed, Team UK gets the upper hand by catching the Americans napping (or most likely catching them over-acting / celebrating prematurely)

The poll is up. You may notice that you can vote for multiple people in this thread, which is true - but ONLY VOTE FOR PEOPLE FROM ONE TEAM OR THE OTHER! The idea here is to vote for the people you feel will be left standing at the end of the match. For example, if you think that Team UK will win and that Roddy Piper will be the sole survivor, ONLY vote for Piper. If you feel Team USA will win and both Austin and Hogan will survive, vote for BOTH Austin and Hogan. The team with the most votes of survival will win!

Kid eliminated by a Stunner right at the get-go.
McGuinness eliminated by SCM followed by an Atomic Leg Drop.
Van Dam counted out, after a missed frog-splash to Piper who was playing possum outside.
Regal eliminated by Angle, via submission.
Piper disqualified for a low-blow to Angle.
Davey Boy beaten down by the remaining four members of Team USA and put out by Hogan.

Team USA is too strong here. There is no one on Team UK that is better than the four I had remaining for the US. Not one. It's a simple choice.

The American team should win this match with relative ease. The entire American team have been World Champions at one time or another while the British team collectively has never held an American World Championship. In addition the Americans are better brawlers and that is really what this match will break down into.

Shawn Michaels made a career out of beating The British Bulldog in big matches.
Kurt Angle would make Nigel tap out.
Stone Cold would stun the Dynamite Kid out of the match.
Rob Van Dam would make William Regal into a jobber.
And Hulk Hogan would leg drop the hell out of Piper.

I pretty much see a complete sweep of the British team. The Americans are just better.

I went with the common perception: America wins 5 eliminations to 1 with RVD going out. Hogan simply didn't get eliminated, Angle can go move for move with Wolfe, Regal is a career midcard guy, Dynamite never won much in America, Piper is going to run and Smith made a career out of losing to Shawn. This is totally one sided to me although Wolfe might put ouot RVD and then get taken out by a fresh Angle.

I think there is a great deal of underestimation of the UK team in this match. Let me point out to you why Team UK will be a tad more of a handful than many are letting on.

1. Team UK has a legitimate tag team. The British Bulldogs aren't just a proper tag team, they were legends. That narrows the talent gap a bit against a team of 5 Americans who were all-time greats in singles. Austin and Michaels were nowhere close to their peaks in the Hollywood Blondes and the Rockers.

2. Team UK matches USA in versatility. Piper is a terrific brawler who can also wrestle - just like Austin. Regal is a fantastic submission wrestler - just like Angle. There is a great mix of speed, power, and technique on Team UK - just like the US.

I see 2 eliminations on the US side, with Van Dam and Michaels going out. But as close as I think this match could be, in the end, yes there is WAY too much star power on the USA side. Let's just not make it out to be a cakewalk.

So it's the Bulldogs against RVD, HBK and Hogan

Bulldog takes out RVD
Michaels takes out Bulldog

Hogan comes into glory hog the finale as always, turns around and gets the Sweet Chin Music

Billington pins Hogan

Then I'm left with the match I'd kill someone for. I'm not sure who'd I'd pick over HBK and Billington. Hmmm

After 20 minutes of awesome

HBK small packages Billington to give the win to Team US.

 

[No Hype]

Match Starts out Davey Boy Smith vs Hogan with some nice inter-tag action with Dynamite Kid they take out the Hulkster with Dynamite pinning him.

Before Dynamite can even get out Kurt Angle comes in and locks in the Ankle Lock to make Kid tap.

Nigel McGuinness comes in and after trading Submissions with Angle, Steve Austin blind tags himself in and hits McGuinness with the stunner for the pin.

Roddy Piper rushes in and it turns into an all out brawl with Austin, Austin gets the upper hand and then Angle tags himself in out of revenge for Austin doing the same, with the referee distracted by Austin trying to attack his own team mate (with the rest of the team restraining him) Piper low blows Angle and with a roll up pins Angle.

Shawn Michaels runs in and Piper rushes to tag out to Regal who is super kicked as soon as he walks in and Michaels gets the quick pin.

While Regal was getting pinned Davey Boy got onto the top rope and jumps down to get Sweet Chin Music from Michaels who tags out to Rob Van Dam for the Frog Splash and the pin.

Piper is now 1 vs 3 and begs to Van Dam that he lives in America now and starts singing America the Beautiful then hits Van Dam with the low blow Austin and Michaels rush in Piper get Stunnered, Super Kicked and then they roll Van Dam on for the cover since he is the legal man.

Well, RVD is out first here. We only put him on the team for the ladder match, right? I'll give the elimination to Piper, since he wrestled at some Wrestlemania's and did some other stuff.

USA gets pissed now, and the captain comes in. Hogan's kicked Piper's ass before and will do it again here. Quickly evens the score. William Regal? Who is he? Leg Drop. Pin. You're gone. Nigel is also eliminated by Hulk, since that's what he's going to be doing to his push in TNA. Right?

4-2 now, but it's a tag team left for the Brits. Hogan gets bored, so he tags in HBK. He tries to be the star, but the Bulldogs are too much for him. 2 are better than 1, that's what I always say. Stone Cold and Angle battle it out with the remaining Brits for awhile to a basic stalemate. Hogan is able to get in on a hot tag though, and beat the shit out of Dynamite and then Davey Boy to pick up the win for USA since he's just that damn good.

RVD is eliminated first, having been double teamed by The British Bulldogs. The Bulldogs would then also eliminate somebody else, and I'm going to say Michaels. They'd try it with Angle, but he'd get Dynamite out with an Angle slam then Dynamite with ankle lock. Piper would low blow him and eliminate him, but he'd then be immediately eliminated by Austin, Austin would quickly stunner and eliminate Regal and then he'd tag in Hogan so he could get rid of McGuinness. Hogan and Austin are the survivors.
