Raw 1/30/17: The Architect Stayed Out Of The Building.

The speedy midgets have never worked in WWE. They've tried a bunch of times.

We had some speedy midgets really popular, so they can make them work. Just need to put some effort into it.

This Steph/Rollins segment was just an excuse to fill a slot. I mean, Triple H is coming, so why not his address only? Why does Steph's opinion count?

Less bickering, more pub crawling.

See my post where I mention putting them in their own division pigeonholes them. A dedicated cruiserweight division has failed every time they've ever tried it. It's failing harder and faster than ever before this time. If a smaller guy is good enough for the WWE, he's never going to get over huge beating up on other little dudes. They work best in David vs. Goliath roles. See Rey Mysterio Jr and Daniel Bryan.

I don't agree that cruiserweights should only fight cruiserweights though. But I wouldn't mind seeing this heel Neville vs. Sami Zayn. They have some backstory and they could build a great cruiserweight exclusive storyline. Cedric Alexander could tear the house down in a story against an heavyweight like Baron Corbin for sure, and then go to challenge Neville for the Cruiserweight Title.

If proper booked the cruiserweight division has its potential. It requires effort though. A lot more so than random matches on RAW.

Showing off his athleticism, holy shit I just thought he rolled out of the ring by mistake.

I'm sitting here listening to the garbage the Cruiserweights are spittin'

I'm not going to defend the division all night, but the narrative in this Neville/Swann feud is quite intriguing. Last night's video package was really cool and the heel Neville is quite entertaining in it's own right. He just needs a good more popular opponent. That's how you get heat on your big heel and aside from Jack Gallagher, there's no babyface in the division being groomed to take Neville's title. If this keeps up, he'll be champion for over a year.

It's sad to see this great performers simply put get the no reaction treatment, but it's WWE's damn fault for rushing this championship after the Cruiserweight Classic. TJ Perkins it's your damn fault for having the charisma of a white wall.

For a show right after a major PPV, this is a disappointment.

The more entertaining things from Royal Rumble came from the SmackDown roster. Cena/Styles stole the show. Baron Corbin eliminating Strowman was a big rub and it seems like they are grooming him for an Intercontinental Championship run. Of course, you also have Orton winning the Rumble.
