Rate Their Music (updated 1/5)

I would give the Cody theme about 7.5/10. It is irritatingly catchy, but then the "Dashing" character is meant to be irritating and annoying. I think its definitely a good theme for Rhodes, and you immediately know who it is, its totally different from anything else in the WWE today.

I dont think he will be using it for a long time, maybe a couple of years, but I dont think there would be many other songs that would have suited him and his character more. I would probably have preferred Cody to have something like "I Am Perfection" like Dolph Ziggler, but this one is good too

How well does this song fit his character? Does it work? Does it not work? What do you think of it overall?
Absolutely it works. Cody's gimmick, along with the whole "Dashing" aspect, is meant to be a throwback to old school late-80's/early-90's gimmicks. What better style of music to use than a song that sounds like it could be from the old school?

Another positive with the song is that the lyrics actually suit Rhodes' gimmick, though really they seem like they're sung from the perspective of his opponent ("There you go, face-deep in the camera, microphone in your hand. Whatcha mad about, no one knows and no one cares - You think everyone's a fan."). The fact that if you listen they're more derogatory towards Cody knocks it down a bit, but the fact remains that the lyrics fit in some way.

On top of that, the song follows the "three second rule". That means that in three seconds you can immediately identify who the song belongs to. There's a "hook" at the beginning that identifies it as Dashing's theme ("WOOOOOOOAAAAAH") and allows the crowd to immediately start booing before he even walks out onto the stage.

Overall, the song fits his gimmick two-fold and follows all the rules that a good theme should, and that's what makes it great.

9/10

I see the "Dashing" gimmick as cheesy and over the top, so it's only fitting that Rhodes has cheesy, over the top theme music. That's not a knock on Cody mind you - I enjoy the character. The lyrics and music fit his persona very well. It's kind of an irritating song, but that only helps Cody's heat in my opinion, as he's an irritating little shit himself.

If we're rating by numbers, I'd give it an 8/10. I don't particularly care for the song, but it's the perfect fit for the Dashing One. Certainly better than that generic Western crap he had before.

Cenas music is very old and needs to be replaced, I really don't see a heel turn coming anymore, So something that he can bop to the ring to would be splendid, but 'My time is now' went out of date the day after he won the WWE Champ for the first time.

On a side not, I LOVE the Dashing gimmick, its made him unique to all the other heels, and the tantrums he throws when he gets hit in the face will be the next 'Ric flair body flop fall over thing'

That's the first time I've gotten to hear the Dashing Cody music because my cable line-up does not have Scyfy (or even before that, Mytv). BOOOO!!!!!! But back to the song.
Wow. Being "old school" myself, I found myself taken back to those 80's teen movies w/that kind of music. After listening for a minute, much to my dismay and against my better judgment, I found myself wanting to start bopping along and lip syncing the words w/it. It definitely had that catchy "annoying song" feel that you wouldn't admit liking to your buddies but might sing out loud when nobody was around and you were in a good mood.

So I would have to rate this one an 8/10, simply from the perspective of catchiness alone and taking me back in a surprising fashion. Glad I got to hear it.

Oh, and to catch up, Cena's music is perfect for him for all of the reasons everybody stated, i.e. the beginning intro, fitting him, being a part of him now, etc. Can't wait for the next song in the series.

Sorry for the delay in this as I'll try to make this a weekly update thing. Next subject: the WWE Champion, the Miz.

What do you think of his theme music? Does it work? Is it a good song? Should he change it? How good is it overall for him or in general or whatever.

9/10.

This is a perfect song for The Miz. Whenever I hear it, I always imagine The Miz himself singing it.

John cena: 10/10. Suits him perfectly.

Cody Rhodes: 1/10. I listened to the song and it sucks(which technically does suit his character/wrestling ability). Its like an 80's bon jovie generic rock mix. I instantly forgot it. As i was writing this post i even forgot who it was about in the first place! Cody rhodes is sucking hardcore and his music is even worse. Ill forget about him as soon as im done posting this.

The Miz: 7/10. Its good, but could be better. I do reconize it when its played, but at the same time it needs to be more distictive. It sounds just a little bit too similar to generic no name rock band music.

As for Cena his music is the right fit.

The smoke and mirrors them is a gimmick theme and for the time being it works ok for Rhodes. I do believe that his gimmick along with his theme will eventually disappear in time, like it always does with this type of gimmick (Sylvain comes to mind...).

As for Miz his music is ok. It's recognizable and it doesn't annoy me, so I believe it's good enough for him.
