Randy Orton better heel or face?

no doubt heel due to the fact that when he was heel he was practically unbeatable. he could do whatever he want whenever he wants however he wants. let's face the facts, while he was heel, he kicked mr.mcmahon in the head, RKO'd stephanie, won more WWE titles, didn't have a weak move-set, had his own stable, main event WM, WASN'T SUPER, and wasn't very predictable. now he is a face and the only thing he has accomplish is be a mid carder at WM, have boring feuds(miz,sheamus,barrett etc.), win 1 WWE title, have a move set that is almost identical to cena, have a very bad ppv record. Now you look at the facts...

He's better as a heel because it fits his persona better, but the crowd reaction he gets forced him to turn face. He got cheers against Cena even when he was a heel.

I'm a Orton fan either way though so it's all good.

I say that Orton is the best at being a tweener. As a heel, by current WWE booking standards (lifted from a manual written in 1985), he's forced to be cowardly. It's just my opinion that the most popular wrestlers, or character in any form of media, are "anti-heroes." Basically, tweeners. Not villains, not faces. That's why fans get behind him.

My favorite Randy Orton moment is when he was cutting the promo on the Undertaker and had Stacy Kiebler with him, then suddenly RKO'ed Stacy. That marked a legacy that he is a fantastic heel.

He does so many heel things well. He can sell as a heel a lot like his father could. He can look like a sadistic heel(Giving Steph the DDT) He can look like a cocky heel and he can look like a cowardly heel.

Why do I prefer him as a face? Well, Randy's heel gimmick wasn't really there. He was just a heel. There was nothing complex to it.

He cheated.
He boasted.
He feuded with faces.
He was cowardly.
He was aggressive.

Yes I agree he didn't do anything new....but be did all of those things perfectly. Honestly he most likely had Flair and his father giving him advice as a heel which helped

That all really depends on what exactly better is. As a face he is extremely over to the point where his pops rival that of John Cena's and The Undertakers, a feat that a mere year ago would have seemed unachievable, especially from someone as hated as Randy was. So from that standpoint you could consider him a better face, after all for the most part the faces are the ones who are more likely to make more money for the company and sell more merchandise i.e. Hogan, SCSA, Cena, Rock etc and at the end of the day the wrestling business is all about money.

However I still feel he is more suited to being a heel, he is rather boring as a face both in the ring and on the mic. The same can not be said about his heel character though, he is far more entertaining as a sadistic heel, where he can really go to town on his opponents and be cold and calculating on the mic, than he is as a sadistic face., where he wrestles the same match over and over with the same comeback and all he does on this mic is talk of RKOing and punting people. He looks more like a heel to me also, with his facial expressions. In fact, the more I think about it is really quite odd, almost inexplicable as to how he got so over as a face.

Randy Orton is just a normal wrestler when he is face but when he is heel he is a whole new character, which is much more fun to watch and it was also fun to watch when Orton gets beat up by guys like Cena, Batista and HHH, and I really loved Orton when he was heel but now he is boring

I love Orton as a heel, but as a face, he just annoys me. What happened to the psychotic viper that punted everyone and only cared about himself and the world title? Last year when he said stuff like "I like John Morrison" or "I respect John Cena", I just shook my head - why??

It's not that he's bad as a face - there are definitely people who try way too hard to be a face (Big Show...) - but it's just not right.

Is there really a major difference? He gets that I'm going to rape you look in his eyes when he's going to punt or RKO someone. His mic skills are the same emotionless tone in his voice. He just feud with heels now instead of faces. There really hasn't been a change in his gimmick for the past few years.

I love to hate Randy Orton as a heel, but I prefer him as a face, not just cuz of the good guy thing, but I love some of the stuff hes been doing lately. Hes only been a face once before which lasted barely 7 months, so I dont mind a change, at least for a bit.

Orton is much better as a heel as his ring style is better suited to the role. I also don't like the weird arching and spasming thing he does on his comeback, and when he seethes and hisses in the ring like on Monday it reminds me of the escaped convict in 'Great Expectations'.

The heel Orton of late 2008/early 2009 before being neutered by Shane McMahon was awesome, shame they didn't go all the way with him.

As a face he is boring in the ring and boring on the mic and look constipated when he try to act frustrated. As a heel he is boring in the ring and boring on the mic, but he can look less constipated. So I will vote heel.

Randy Orton was interesting when he was the legend killer, the brash cocky young star. He was interesting when he was evil psycho initially but somehow became boring to me. Don't know why but it just happened. At least when Cena became boring to me he could still use his enthusiasm to tide things through, Orton is unable or unwilling to do so.
