I got told I didn't know what racism is because I'm white today. Then again, this was coming from a white woman who also used the term "coloured people" and "people of colour".

What do you make of that?

It's important to note that racism isn't an extension of skin color. If somebody looked me in the eye and told me I didn't understand racism, I'd offer then an education on the persecution of the Irish people for centuries. Maybe it has never cost me a job in America, but I damn sure understand the injustices.

Actually, a lot of the actual colonies were set up because of racial discrimination. Or so I'm taught. They were seeking religious freedom, some at least, on top of creation and distribution of capital.

If you're referring to Massachusetts Bay Colony, I suggest reading a book called Invisible Saints. It's about early Puritanism in the colonial Northeast.

You cant say there wasn't more to do with America and Canada then Capitalism. How many ships came over looking to start a New Jerusalem? From the Acadians leaving France, to the Puritans leaving England, to Maryland, and Ferryland being set up by the Catholics. After the Spanish raped Central America of the resources, why did they stay? To turn the peoples into Christians.
