R-Truth - Future World Champion?

SMKM

Occasional Pre-Show
As much as you may like or dislike Truth, right now he's at the top of his game, there's no denying it. Truth is looking more and more like a champion to me each and every week. He's been in high profile feuds, and currently he'll be in probably the biggest match of this year so far at this upcoming Survivor Series against Cena, Rock and whoever else they add to the teams. So, it's got me to thinking, he's the only man currently in this conspiracy storyline that hasn't held a world title, yet every other main player has, so could this mean sometime after the storyline is over Truth will get another shot at the title and actually win it? I for one wouldnt mind a Truth reign, he could pretty much feud with anyone, his mic work is pretty stellar, and maybe even put a few guys over in matches since he seems the type backstage that knows when to lose *cough Cena cough HHH cough*. So what are your thoughts guys, after this huge storyline is over, anyone else see an imminent championship reign?

Hell to the fuck yeah!

When The Miz is paired up with anyone, he's usually the one who looks like the star while carrying the other. Not this time; R-Truth and The Miz are pretty much equals. In fact, I'd go so far as to say I'd perfer Truth over The Miz. R-Truth gimmick is great, his heel persona is great, he's great on the mic, and down right hilarious at times. If R-Truth can stay over, I don't see why a WWE/World Heavyweight Championship reign would be out of the question. I've taken strong interest in R-Truth as of late and I'm glad he's actually being pushed to levels where the WWE Championship is a norm. This is one of those cases where heel R-Truth is ten times better then face R-Truth. So sure, I would love to see the strap on R-Truth; even just for a short period of time.

Honestly I hope he does become champion for a little while sometime next year.

But I think that WWE are trying to push other superstars as Main eventers above Truth at the moment and Ron will have to slip down the line even further when new FCW or Newly signed talent come up the rankings.
The Miz will likely be pushed again before Truth is given a title shot, Bryan and Barrett are likely to recieve a push in the near future. Cody Rhodes is on his way to the main event picture right now! and Ziggler is not far off himself, especially when this U.S. Title and Tag Team business is away.

If I am totaly honest I do not believe R-Truth will become the Champion of ether brand during his tenure with WWE.
Do I think he deserves it? Yes
Do I think he can pull it off? Yes
But I just think that WWE have many more main event pushes in the works above R-Truth at the moment.

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing it I wouldn't bet my lunchable on it.

I've liked R-Truth for a long time, going back to the K-Kwik days even. He just always appealed to me for some reason I can not explain. I liked him in TNA, and I was thrilled when he was brought back to the WWE. At some point you'd think that they would give him a go with the title if they were willing to give Ziggler the WHC even for a night, Jack Swagger a WHC reign, The Miz a title reign, etc... I'm just not sure that they are going to pull the trigger on it. I think it's safe to say that C.M. Punk has the WWE title locked down for the foreseeable future along with ADR or Cena so I doubt he would be getting that. Unless he goes to SmackDown! and somehow gets involved that way I just can't conceive any way he actually gets there. I would be all for it thought, make no mistake about that. I think he would be excellent but the top seems to occupied for there to be room for him at the moment.

This is one of those cases where heel R-Truth is ten times better then face R-Truth.

You mean, the "Bad Ar Truth" is better than the "Goooood Ar Truth"?

Back to the topic, I think he might be future champ (seeing WWE puts the strap on most upper carders, at least once), but if he is, he's probably going to be a less of a "top dog" than The Miz is one day going to be. He's probably going to be a Booker T compared to The Rock (in smaller magnitudes, I'd think).

Funny, I was thinking about that the other day and I think R-Truth would make a great heel champion. Truth is highly entertaining, all he needs is more exposure to his character and a bigger role to play on Raw.

I think R-Truth deserves to be a world champion sometime after he and Miz split. Truth has got it all right now. He's good in the ring and very charismatic. Ron Killings has worked hard enough for the WWE to trust him with a title reign so hell yeah, he should be champ sometime in 2012.

As much as I like R-Truth and admire his work I can't see him becoming a WWE Champ or WH Champ. R-Truth is 39 years old and there are too many main event caliber superstars in the picture. I highly doubt they will take the strap from SuperCena, ADR, Punk or Miz and give it to Truth.

Also, I can't imagine R-Truth as a champ with his insane gimmick. It's more quirky and funny and I wouldn't be able to take his title reign that serious. I hope the E' gives him a chance because he does stellar work but as of right now I can't see him as champ in the foreseeable future.
Although, if Jack Swagger had the title WH Championship anything can happen. (lol)

I hope the WWE surprises me and Truth holds the title. Only time will tell...

R-Truth deserves a championship run. He's on top of his game NOW, but he's 39, and he's going to be slowing down very soon. He's paid his dues, and his schizophrenic heel persona is hilarious and tremendously over with the young crowd.

I want to see R-Truth get a title run ASAP, more than CM Punk. I can be patient, but Truth, like it or not, doesn't have all that many more good years left in him, and it'd be best for everyone if he got the title sooner rather than later.

Six months ago? No.

Since his heel turn and run so far, he has impressed me enough to think that he deserves to carry the strap for a small amount of time. I'm going to agree with Rico in that his heel persona fits perfectly with the kid demographic. He has played it up perfectly and has been an interesting paranoid spaz. I wouldn't mind him getting a title run, but I'm not going to lobby for it either.

Maybe he'll win a title if he's given an incredible gimmick that's totally different from his Rapper & Little Jimmy characters. I don't know if such a thing could exist, but that's what it would take to put Killings over the top.

Frankly, I was surprised they've given him the push they have. I came to believe he was the male version of Gail Kim, brought over from TNA to weaken the smaller company, yet doomed to dwell in obscurity.......well, not obscurity, maybe, but certainly not destined to perform in the main event.

Instead, Killings has received a nice boost and he's been good in the role. Still, while he's entertaining, he just doesn't seem to have the ammunition to be a world champion. Falls a little short in the charisma department. He's more of a clever novelty act.

Still, it's great to have him around.

I just don't see it happening. There's too many other guys I can see getting pushed before him. I think his current run with the Miz will be the highest on the card he'll ever get. Miz on the other hand I expect to be back in the title picture pretty soon.

Truth is, R-truth could be a great heel World Champion. His microphone skills crazy at times, but great and he could put great matches with the babyfaces, thumbs up for me.I see him holding it at least once.

I WOULD LOVE A TRUTH TITLE REIGN! But Sadly His Criminal Record Harms his Chances. He Has Trouble Getting into Canada and Other Strict Places. I dont Think Vinnie Mac would Want A WWE Champ who Cant Even get into the Country, Especially with Them Having Events in such places as Qatar recently.

I hope he becomes champ. He'll probably become the World Heavy Champion next year, but I would like to see an extended feud betwee him & punk or maybe even a face Miz. I think he would make a great champion if they push as he is now. I can even see the WWE going a little farther with him, making him like a Bad News Brown type. That would really his title reign great. I see him taking the title during late summer or fall.

Now whether face or heel, I'm a fan of R-Truth. But I don't think he'll get a world title reign. For the simple fact, he may not look like it, but Truth is going to be 40 years old come January. So if he does get a title reign, it's going to be brief. For some Reason, WWE doesn't like for it's older stars unless you (cough cough) Triple H to get the World Title.

But most importantly he's partnered with The Miz. And the Miz is a former WWE champion. Although R-Truth has won favor with McManhon as a heel, and due to improvement of his work; The Miz has always been a favorite of McManhon and Vince see's Miz as the Future of the WWE.

And to me, the Miz is the vocal mouthpiece of the group, and as long as he's paired up beside miz, and doing them comedy skits and playing paranoid and dumb, I beleive the Miz will be ahead of him. Don't get me wrong they have great chemistry together, better than Miz and Morrison, but I beleive The Miz is going to get more out of Awesome Truth than R-Truth. The only way I can see R-Truth becoming World Champion is that he's going to have to break away from Miz and just work harder in furthering his Gimmick and his Wrestling Skills. But as long as the two being promoted together. I beleive one is going to get the better end of the stick, and it won't be truth.

And Now That's The Truth, The Whole Truth, and Nothing But The Truth!!!!

WHAT'S UP!!!!

i hope they give him a title run soon, even if its only for a couple months to fued with CM Punk and have him beat truth for it, because r truth is probably the best heel they have right now. I used to hate this guy as a face but wow a heel turn really turned him into a whole other wrestler, he's one of my favorites now by far, and since he's almost 40 yea he definitely deserves a title run now before he gets any older.

I could see him being the champ. maybe just once, and for a pretty short run but he could run with it if he's on his A game on the mic

While i totally agree that R-Truth as a heel in the past few months is quite entertaining and is doing the best work of his career, i don't think that he is 'that good' to win a WWE/WHC title. He may probably win a mid-card title but i highly doubt him winning a world championship.

I just don't see it happening. There's too many other guys I can see getting pushed before him. I think his current run with the Miz will be the highest on the card he'll ever get. Miz on the other hand I expect to be back in the title picture pretty soon.

I just don't see it either, but for different reasons. This guy went from a rapping fan loving jobber, to a monster heel within a month. One of the biggest turnarounds in a short amount of time in recent history A guy with no theme, cutting promos left and right drawing incredible heat from the crowds. Going over Mysterio, Morrison among others to have all of that killed in one night when he got squashed by a damn drink in his face at capitol punishment. If he was going to win the title, it should've been then and it would've been believable. Ever since then he hasn't been in anything relevant unless you count this junk with the "subway" man. So he's not getting any younger, and now he's back to rapping with a theme, what a waste of an opportunity. The "little Jimmy" could have really been something special.

I love his gimmick, however, right now I am hoping the WWE wants to build a tag division again. If this is the case, "The Awesome Truth" will reign for a long time. Right now I would see them making a stable with John Laurunitis and ADR. They could find a 3rd and 4th and hold all of the belts. A win over the Rock and Cena in Survivor Series would cement them to a brief time of dominance.

Truth has been around for quite a long time and I think that WWE will reward for his loyal services and drastic improvement with a world title. I feel like he is a close second for most improved wrestler for 2011 (behind Mark Henry of course). Veteran's deserve to be rewarded for loyalty and still improving at the twilight of their careers. Kane did it in 2010, Mark Henry and Christian have done it in 2011 and I think 2012 could be R-Truth's year to finally capture the company's top prize and I will be estatic for him.

hows this for truth, no better way to further his character then to give him the title. have him win it at a ppv in sort of fucked up fluke type win in a specialty match and lo and behold have him drop it the very next night on raw. thus far advancing his paranoia and the conspericy theory

I don't think they'll ever put one of the top title on Truth, but they WILL make him a major merchandise seller and a HUGE star. He's found his golden ticket as a hilarious heel and I think WWE will continue to capitalize on it. Him, Zach Ryder, and Santino have become some of the most entertaining guys on WWE TV bc they work their gimmick regardless of who they face and regardless of whether or not they're in the ring. Those things go a long way in getting the guys over with the fans; it's a way to not end up as one of those guys ppl ask 'why isn't blank being used?' Blank isn't being used bc his character has been defined. I think that's the problem for guys like Drew McIntyre (good wrestler, but who is he? what's his thing?), Justin Gabriel (Great performer, but bland character right now), Tyson Kidd (TREMENDOUS wrestler, good arrogance, but he still doesn't have anything to define him), etc. The only guy I think WWE has held back who was actually getting over on his own is Alex Riley; when he was going after the US title he played off Vickie GREAT, but they halted it too soon. I want to see him in a Survivor Series match....

R-Truth still does not seem like a world title contender to me. He does however come much closer than he did before this summer. His rapper character would never have made it past the midcard. Then he turned heel and started his war against the little jimmy's of the world. This character is too silly to be champion if you ask me but it's far better for him than rapping about "whats up" because now he has some odds of seeing a bigger push. His responding to the "WHAT" is amusing too. Even with all of this going for him I don't see anything changing after Awesome Truth is no more, he is still in too weird of a gimmick to be credible of holding a world title.

I could see him feuding over the belt with the Miz actually. If Miz ever turns face, a natural feud would be against R-Truth.

That said, I'm not sure if he'll be over once they end this conspiracy angle. That's going to be the tricky part. If they're going to give him the belt, it should be sooner rather than later. Once the conspiracy angle dies out, I think they need to keep him heel, that's the only way I see him getting a title shot.

Face Truth was great for the kids but was boring and not championship material.
