I think they should bring back a previous WWE title, just like the white intercontinental title. The current WWE title has run its course, especially because, as already pointed out, it was meant to look current and really only fit John Cena at the time it was made, just like the U.S. title was made to spin just for him. That's like if you put the spinner on Stone Cold Steve Austin, it doesn't fit him. Or vice versa, like if everyone had the Smokin Skull belt back in 98-99. They need a belt that fits everyone, like the winged eagle or the undisputed title. Bring an old one back!

Now that Kane is in the Fued for the WWE title it needs changing because either
1. Nobody will think he'll win it.
It's like when it was on SD a few years ago (2008 I think could be wrong). In the SD elimination chamber it was HHH and Taker last two and I knew HHH was going to win at that point for the reason that Taker wouldn't suit that belt
or
2. He'd look like a total cunt. Sorry but imagine Kane with the spinner belt. It's the same story as with Punk. As somebody said:

Kane is "Dark" a shiny fucking belt would just be laughable so if people are to take his challenge as serious it needs to be change and fast.

That's why you shouldn't make belts to suit one person, unless you're talking about the Million Dollar Championship or FTW Championship, which were sort of "unsanctioned" titles. But the company's actual titles should never be designed to suit just one person. Everyone loved Stone Cold Steve Austin, but they never should have made him a smoking skull belt. It's just a bad idea all around.

This! Yes! Bring it back! That one or the Undisputed WWE title that Brock Lesnar had. Both would be preferrable to the current toy belt.....

Were it up to me I would want a mix of the winged eagle belt and the Attitude era belt - the design of winged eagle, but the size of the Attitude belt = best belt ever.
Unfortunately that one picture that leaked seems to indicate that they're on a mission to top the hideousness of the spinner belt, whether it's just a side plate or not. Sighhh.....

I haven't hated the current belt but it definitely has run its course and it's time for a change. Literally. I've come to the point where the belt has become ugly and definitely doesn't fit the current champion. I'm curious and I can't wait to see what the new belt looks like.

I love this belt as well...actually bought the replica of it. I would love to see them bring it, the winged eagle or the undisputed title back...regardless just get rid of the spinner, I am pretty sure that no matter what they do it can't be wrose than that thing!

Probably my favorite as well, followed by the Winged Eagle and maybe the Undisputed Belt.
I wouldn't mind seeing one of those three come back. But I also think a new belt would be exciting as well

lets get a few things cleared in in this thread:
1. Not all WWE belts need name plates. The whole name plate thing was ripped off from WCW anyways. I think the name plate is the only piece of gold you can see on the tacky WWE U.S. title.. I didn't want to see Goldberg holding up a belt that said Triple H in big black letters either. If you knew what was going on great, if your just tuning into wrestling for the first time now your confused..
2. The undisputed title cant come back because the title is still disputed.. Brock Lesnar is all over the place so why would he hold the one revamped undisputed title without being the guy who reunified them?
3. Whatever the new belt is gonna be will have to feature either the letters of the company or its logo in addition to just the word champ(ion).. If it says World heavyweight we already got an issue and all the old belts you guys reference have those two words..
4. When you all say classic you need to refer to WWWF/WWF belts from 1963-88.. Any belts starting in the latter quarter century are not classic WWE belts.. The belt Buddy Rogers wore, the belt "Superstar" Billy Graham wore, the belt Iron Sheik wore, the 2nd belt and 3rd belts Hogan wore are classic belts.. Mark Henry, Big Show, Kane, Swagger, Goldberg, Benoit, Sheamus, and JBL all would had looked ridiculous with the winged eagle belt..
Cody Rhodes would look alot better in the 1985 belt then either two brand belts in 2012 as seen below:

I think if Punk had a say in the new belt he would be more inclined to choose something that looks good on most wrestlers.

I thiunk the reason, the main core reason for the spinner belt's inception was to create distinction from the original WWF championship and to give both belts brand based personalities and aesthetics. You cant revert back one of the belts representing a splintered lineage to a belt design that represented that title in an era were splits and partitions were barely possible..

IDK that but what i think people have a problem with is that it's associated with Cena. No matter who holds it, it still has Cena's stench on it almost like if his face was placed on the belt. The design itself is ok a lot better since they took the spinner out of it.
I really hope whatever the title looks like it will have a 2012 feel and have no attachment to a wrestler whatsoever. Also, Please WWE I'm begging you to put some effort into the design and not sign off on the first artistic draft that passes thru! The Belt is the holy grail of WWE and should be treated with as much care and respect as WWE itself.
