A Punk heel turn would be great. He could feud w/ The Sandman & then RVD. The sXe gimmick is perfect against those 2, and it'd be a good way to push Punk even more.
Although he is one of the most over on ECW, so it'd make sense to have him as a face. Plus w/ The New Breed being the big heel stars in ECW they're going to need someone to feud against after The Originals leave. I don't see any of The Originals staying longer than a year. I think they'll all be heading out of the E soon, so keeping Punk as a face probably isn't a bad idea. And besides The Originals there really aren't any other faces in ECW. They have a locker room full of heels.
And to those saying a straight edge gimmick is for a face are completely wrong. The majority of the world smokes cigs, drinks alcohol, & does drugs. It is very easy for a sXe wrestler to go out there and say "keep drinking I hope you die" because Punk has done it before. He makes a better heel than he does a face. The whole "I'm straight edge & better than you" is an easy heel gimmick. When he turns heel he'll be a star until then Punk will be stuck in the midcard scene.
