This thread is to discuss all things ECW Region. To check matches and brackets for that Region, just click on the link in my signature.

Some of my thoughts:
Most overrated:
#1. Chris Jericho. I am a huge Jericho Fan, but in no way, shape or form is he a top four wrestler. Jericho is easily the weakest of the number one seeds, and the one I see losing first.

Most Under Rated:
#62 Steve Williams: Tough break for Dr. Death. The WWE killed his career with the JR Bell's Palsey angle, and WCW buried it with the OK crap. He has a tough draw with Edge, and he'll be gone early.

First Round Match to Watch:
Umaga vs. Haku:
I really think that this would be a very intriguing match to watch. Two damn dominate Samoans beating the hell out of each other.

Winner:
I feel that this is the Undertaker's region to lose. With the possible matchup with Harley Race an exception, Taker won't face anyone tough potentially until Round 5 against Mick Foley.

I feel that Foley or Edge ave a legit shot of winning this Region as well.

Early favorite:

Undertaker. The man is a legend, and being in the ECW region helps him since we are assuming these guys in their primes. Taker's "impervious to pain" persona coupled with his later work as Harcore Champion will serve him well.

Most Overrated:

Rey Mysterio. I don't get it with Oscar G, here, but he wasn't a 5-seed in my book. I wouldn't be shocked if Jacques Rougeau takes him out day 1. But is Rey survives, he's likely got Sid in round 2 and either Jarrett or the Big Show round 3. Hard road ahead.

Rd. 1 Upset Watch:

Rougeau over Mysterio and King Kong Bundy over Billington. Remember, Billington is not known to all (sadly) whereas Bundy headlined WrestleMania 2 with Hulk Hogan. That'll be an interesting match.

Dark Horse:

Yokozuna. The greatest heel in wrestling history has an easy early going - he'll squash Killings like an ant, destroy Steamboat or Warlord in 15 minutes at most, and neither MVP nor Slaughter can do a damn thing with the guy. He's going to walk into the bracket's final four.

Best 1st Round Match:

Steve Williams vs Edge and Chris Harris vs Val Venis. Williams is vastly under rated, and though he's up against a buzzsaw in Edge, I think Williams will put up a fantastic fight. Also, Harris is an uo-and-comer, but both he and Venis had quasi-similar styles and hae that upset potential.

First off, after reading Irish's thoughts on King Kong Bundy, let me say that King Kong Bundy is freakin' ridiculiously underrated. Am I the only one who has ever seen Championship Wrestling from Florida? One of the biggest territories of all time, the Eddie Graham territory that saw the REAL rise to fame of guys like Dusty Rhodes (back when you could understand what he was saying), this is where the infamous REAL Kevin Sullivan persona came out of, and let me tell you, if all you saw of Kevin Sullivan was his out of shape bloated era in the late 90s, then you don't know what you're missin. That man would scare you in his promos. Not to mention the Briscos, the Funks, Barry Windham, etc. The territory where Gordon Solie provided his best years. And King Kong Bundy was great when he started off there. His promos back on the park benches, just eating some fried chicken and looking angry were some classic TV. Back when having a wrestler interview outside of the arena was crazy talk.

And also do not underestimate the marks on this board. They will definately provide a strong push for Tom Billington.

It's between Taker and Foley IMO. Mick should make it to the final round in the ECW region, but Taker is a big favourite to win the whole Tournament, and people may vote for him even though he is not in his element which would be the WWE Region. Edge will make it far in the ECW Region, but if he faces either Taker or Foley then he will be eliminated IMO. I voted for Mick because he has the biggest advantage going into this thing where he will rack up a lot of votes in a Hardcore/Street Fight/Extreme Rules match no matter who he is against.

Two other guys that are potential threats would be Jericho and Mysterio. A lot of Old School wrestling fans love Y2J, and the younger generation of fans love Rey, so I wouldn't be too surprised if one of them makes it to the final round.

This is very much Undertaker's region, despite the extreme rules. The deadman isn't afraid to bleed, after all. Mick Foley is a legend, Edge is currently on a high in the company. The Undertaker has both of those things working for him, as well as being a IWC favourite - as evidenced by his high seeding. So yea, he's my favourite.

Y2J in my opinion is very overrated. I'm pretty much on the same ground as CA as far as he's concerned. He'll be the first number one seed to drop, in my opinion. Sadly, he'll have eliminated Alex Shelley by that time. Then again, there could be a big upset. Also agree with xfear about the ol' Dynamite Kid.

The Undertaker is the overall favorite in this region, but in this region Im taking the Rated R Superstar, Edge. I see an Edge v. Foley final in this region. This is a very tough region though and anything can happen. There will be a tough road to the finals for all of the top 4 seeds here.

Most Overrated - Rey Mysterio Jr. He is a great wrestler and one of the best cruiserwieghts ever, but I see him having a tough time getting anywhere in this region.

Most Underrated - Tie in my opinion between Jerry Lawler and Jeff Jarrett. Lawler should have been a lot higher, I mean Umaga and MVP are higher than him.

Best First Round Matchup - I like the Justin Credible v. Lex Luger Matchup. Two very good wrestlers in their time, but the next match for the winner will be vs. the Undertaker, so it doesnt matter much.

Darkhorse - Jeff Jarrett - I dont see him doing it, but if somehow he gets passed Edge, he can get pretty far in tihs one.

Taker will win it easily. Don't know why though. I'd rather it be somebody who's been consistently good. I'd want Booker to win this. He doesn't stand a chance though.

Most Overrated: Ricky Steamboat. Not in my eyes. But he'll get votes on reputation. He deserves to go far. But the majority of people who vote will have seen his match against Savage and a few Flair ones. They wont have seen many of his other matches. I don't see how you can vote for somebody having only really watched 5 cl;assics and a couple of Superstar matches.

Firstly, how Chris Jericho got a number 1 seed is is very confusing to me. Yes Jericho is great, but damn a number one seed over Taker and Edge??? Dunno bout that one. In this I would Vote for Edge over anyone. Im not sure about the rest of the boards, but Edge has a boatload of respect from me. He is damn good in ring, sells his character like none other in the WWE, cuts very good promos, and is willing to take HUGE bumps, year in, and year out. Edge has been involved in a lot of the best/craziest moments in the WWE over the last 8 years or so. And maybe is just me overanlyzing, but watching him make his entrance, you can tell he LOVES this buisness. He comes through thst curtain like every night is the main event of WM. Thats not his character. If he was playing his character, he would come out like he didnt care. But he doesnt. He is extremely intense and pumped for everything, and to me, having passion for this, is a big deal. Im not trying to contradict myself, he DOES sell his character extremely well, but for those 30 seconds when he first comes out of the curtain, he is ridiculously pumped and intense. I will hopnestly say that his entrance at WM almost made me tear up, just for the passion he showed. You could feel it through the TV. Always doing the crazy spots, continually entertaining, and ALWAYS down to put anyone over. Putting over Cena, in EDGES match, in EDGES hometown, to me, commands a lot of repsect.

Taker will be a great contender here though. one of the all time greats, it will be very hard to vote against him. I would say he is probably the odds on favorite, even with my votes going to edge. Ted Dibiase is one of my all time favorites, and A potential match with Tom Billington would be crazy. I worry that Billington wont make it that far though, as many of the posters voting in this thing might look at it and say "who?" which is sad really. Sid Vicous looks as if he will be able to roll thru the first 3 rounds with relative ease really.

I agree with CA, in that the Haku VS Umaga match would be fuckin SICK. It would be a wild, nasty encounter, one of which I would love to see.

Will win Undertaker
Should win and I'm sure I'm the only one who will say this but Harley Race! (Seven time champ in a day where the belt wasn't traded back and forth.

Overrated- Chris Jericho
Underrated - Elix Skipper poor guy got the Sarge though.

Best matches. I choose the matches by how I picked the brackets to go.
1st round Edge vs Dr. Death, Sarge vs Elix Skipper(yes I know the Sarge is much better but with Elix's speed it would take the Sarge a little while to get his hands on him.
2nd round- Nothing really impresses me much
3rd round- This is a match I would love to see Undertaker vs Harley Race. This should be a finals match not 3rd round. Ricky Steamboat vs Sarge( I go with Ricky) and Edge vs Sid Vicous although the posters will have Big Show or Mistero here.
4th Round- Harley Race vs Ricky Steamboat (IN ECW rules Race is the meaninger one.
5th Round - I have Chris Jerich vs Edge and Mick Foley vs Race I know Foley is hardcore but I repeat Race is mean and as tough as they come. Even the Natich has said Race is the toughest man he has been in the ring with.
6th Round- Race destroys the overrated Jericho.

Jericho and Edge had the easiest brackets of anyone. I think there are five wrestlers on the right side of this bracket that deserves to be in the final against Race.

Winner: The UnderTaker or Edge
Over Rated Booker T in mind is not as good as he is hyped up to, his reign as Champ as very Boring
Under Rated Ricky Steamboat He doesnt get the credit he deserves, one of my favorite old wrestlers.
1stRound Match To Watch Jay Broscoe vs Kerry von Erich should be a good close vote
Dark Horse: Yokozuna
Possible Upset Jarret or Sid would a good chance to steal the region

Winner: Undertaker
Over Rated : Rey
Under Rated : The man i'll be pushing over everyone early on, Tom Billington.
1stRound Match To Watch : Rey against Rougeau. It's the kids vs the grown-ups. Whoever wins will set the tone for the rest of the tournament.
Dark Horse: Edge. Judging by the completely undeserved tag victory, he'll have a lot of support in this. Not from me though.
Possible Upset : Watch out for the Big Show. As seen the last time, once the stipulations start he's capable of beating anyone with luck.

winner
the undertaker. no one can teriffy a dead man. no rules work in his favour. taker will make people bleed.

contenders to upset undertaker
foley- go back to CACTUS JACK days. foley can use somethings which undetaker doesnt expect- BARB WIRE, FLAMING TABLES
edge- remember there are no rules. edge can find ways to CHEAT AND WIN over taker.

DARK HORSE
yokozuna. who is gonna beat him esp if mr. fuji is helping him

best ist round matchup
alex shelley vs chris candido. shelly has edge in ability but candido knows the crowd better

most overrated
REY MYSTERIO. these are ecw rules . mysterio is gonna get hurt

most underated
tom billington- he isnt given the respect he deserves

upset in round one
meng over umaga. if you wanna know what a real monster is fight meng. if you survive somehow go tell others too who is real deal
