Pre-Wrestlezone Tournament Picks

[The 1-2-3 Killam]

The annual Wrestlezone tournament is coming up! Wooooooo! If you're unfamiliar with it, it's pretty much the most awesome thing that happens around here in a given year, without a whole lot of exception (the election was a lot of unexpected fun...). To catch the "noobs" up, the mods will basically put together a tournament style bracket of a LOT of wrestlers, both past and present, and we the people get to decide via vote who moves on to the next round.

So my question to the veterans is, does anybody have any pre-tournament picks they plan on riding all the way this year? Any favorites (Coco, we know you'll jive on RVD's meat for as long as you can...)?

This year I think I"m going to try and remain as objective as possible, and just play each match as it comes up. My favorites, and I'm pretty vocal about them, are Chris Jericho and Triple H. So I'll probably vote for them no matter what, but if an interesting match came up I think I'm going to TRY and make a great case for both sides. Any thoughts? Plans? Anybody else excited?

It'll be interesting to see how Punk stands now that he's had a prolonged period as 'the man'. Anyone that gets him in a ladder match is at a disadvantage - I don't care how many sheds they've painted.

I do hope Chris Jericho draws Cena again. That's always an easy one.

I'm thinking either Hogan or The Rock this year; usually the same people make it into the final 16 and 8, and for good reason. Sting and Cena might be a dark horses this year, and both CM Punk and D Bry might make it pretty far this time.

Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Christian, Daniel Bryan, William Regal, Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat. And this is without having an earthly idea on what the fuck this tournament is based off.

Still upset about Sting not winning last year by the slightest of margins. Might back him. Macho Man may have a good year. I think a good case be had for The Rock this year.

I'm not sure who I'll be campaigning for. I'm sure the likes of John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Sheamus, James Storm, and Jeff Hardy will enter the equation as I may well be pushing the "contemporary top faces" ticket. And if that fails, there's always my usual stance of "Fuck Shawn Michaels."

People said there was no way Batista would beat Flair in a Last Man Standing Match. Ha.

Don't get me started on the First Blood match he lost to the Undertaker in last year's tournament.
