Pitching Impact To A Potential TNA Fan

This current angle is actually a way of getting rid of the Aces, instead of having them die out after one loss. I think it was unfair basing this all on one show. Wait till next week where we're sure to see more of the mid-card.

By the way, I've enjoyed the Aces and Eights, given that I have never watched Sons of Anarchy.

He's just a big angry black guy. Basically Bobby Lashley but with less talent in the ring and an actual sense of aggression.

I don't know that an actual sense of aggression and Bob Sapp should be in the same scentence. I mean, the dude has admitted to throwing legit fights.

I agree that he's fairly untalented in the ring, but that's never been really been a big sticking point in the big multinational wrestling promotions.

Either way, AJ Styles defending the title against the likes of Sapp will do nothing. Wrestle-1's first event was supposed to have been good but since then they've not been delivering on what Muta said. I guess it's cause Japan's wrestling scene is actually pretty competitive in-terms of talent.

Is that the guy that Khali made cry in The Longest Yard?

Edit: Nevermind, I should have scrolled further down before asking.

Actually, that has changed. Inoki was into guys like Sapp and MMA fighters, so when he stepped down and the new president came in he started focusing on wrestling, and in Japan whenever NJPW does anything the others slowly follow. That is why Muta hires guys like Sapp, because he finds something in guys like him.

That's cool. I've always thought he was way more suited to professional wrestling than kickboxing and mma. He's huge and hits a like truck, but he has no chin or killer instinct.

Pitching Impact Wrestling to a potential TNA fan these days is a nearly impossible task. It's one thing for the loyalists to have blind faith and devout loyalty, but to try to generate interest in the product in its current state of disarray for people not currently invested would be a significant challenge. I've tried it with a buddy of mine who got me into WWE in the first place. He knew who AJ Styles was, but knew virtually nothing about him. And he had no interest whatsoever in finding out. And therein is the hurdle to overcome.

Meh, few of my pals back home are wrestling fans. I went home last week and asked if they wanted to check out BFG and they said "yeah, why not?"... We got some beer, some pizza and looked up the card. Decided to watch the X-Division, tag match, Angle/Roode and main event.

All agreed the ending to the first and the Angle/Roode were shameful, but we all enjoyed the latter and the main event match. These guys aren't going to watch Impact, but they can barely (much like myself) sit through RAW these days without some developing form of alcoholism and pals to chat with at the same time.

Pitching RAW to a non RAW fan is stupid too, wrestling is built on stupid story lines. Nobody could actually listen to the "its good for business" angle and think it made any sense. Stories are not the way to get people into wrestling. Show them the action, the narrative is secondary.
