Pitching Impact To A Potential TNA Fan

I watched four wrestling shows in the last six days.

One, was Raw. It had a lot of stuff that didn't interest me, but it also had just over an hour of wrestling. Just over an hour of wrestling on Raw isn't bad, especially when three of those matches were pretty good.

The third was NJPW Road to Power Struggle. I'd estimate it at around two hours of wrestling? It was pretty good for a B-iPPV and it was cheap too which was pretty cool.

Fourth, ROH Wrestling. It lasts an hour - a freaking hour - and still managed to have just below forty minutes of wrestling! It has wrestling in the name, so of course as you should, you get what's in the title.

And then what I watched second. Impact WRESTLING where WRESTLING was barely fucking featured! Instead I got an opening segment that lasted over half an hour, a horrible Knockouts match, ECIII destroying a jobber which I will give is to enhance him and his character so that's fine and a good main event which provided what was in the name, but the rest of the show? WASN'T FUCKING WRESTLING!

Change the name back to Impact if you're going to produce a show where all everybody does is talk about wrestling instead of actually doing it! And don't send the guy who is the most interesting in the company and is producing the best matches off to Japan to compete for Wrestle-1, a company with no notable Japanese talents!

Cause you know I can't wait to watch AJ Styles defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Bob Sapp!

Most normal human beings don't want to watch eight hours of wresting in six days.

I don't like a ton of TV shows and when I'm not watching TV/wrestling I'm either in work, college or playing sport so I find it relaxing to be honest. If anything Breaking Bad ending has made it easier, I'm also finding it hard to find any new show on TV that interests me, except for Kevin Spacey's House of Cards. On the second episode, it's pretty good.

This logic is so dumb and flawed Wrestling is an all encompassing term that includes not only actual wrestling but promos and other segments next weeks show will have more wrestling

And this was also the first show after a PPV which usually has less wrestling next weeks show will have more wrestling

After TNA's biggest PPV of the year no less. I don't understand why people don't get this.

I can only speak personally but I'm not invested in a match if I have no reason to be. I don't two shakes of a gnat's whisker if a wrestling programme is 2/3 in the ring if I have no reason to care about what's happening there. I think last iMPACT's show did an effective job of building up to potential matches they could be having in the future. That's the entire point.

Can you imagine if Rock and Cena had spent most of the time wrestling other guys before their big match. Bye-bye casual fans. It has it's uses in a build-up but the majority should be built upon what they do outside the ring. That's why Brock Lesnar doesn't wrestle on TV, you don't give away your good shit for free. He doesn't come out until he's had a match with at least a month and a half build and every time he has that match it's important and special because of that.

You should watch NXT. They've got the booking of shows so that they're at a consistently high level down to a science.

Yes Saga, we get it. You like the more obscure stuff. You don't need to remind us every 3 posts.

What I don't get is why people can't simply accept the basic fact TNA is in a creative drought these days. I'm not referring to you, I know you have your own opinion. But right now, they are going through constant creative rotations while also having to deal with lots of economic issues. There's clearly more emphasis on fixing the backstage issues than putting on mindblowing stories.

I also don't get why get so defensive about EC3. He's based on another athlete. Just like Megaman is based on Astro Boy or Batman is based on Zorro. It's a concept that was spun off into something else. It's not bad to do it. We're just pointing it out.

Now to be honest and stop messing with Killjoy, TNA is actually giving something entertaining. Just like in WWE, there are somethings I like, others that I don't but at the end of the day they're delivering in at least one big profile feud. Now the number one thing for me is Roode vs. Angle, but the Sting vs. Magnus and AJ Styles vs. Dixie has been entertaining too, just don't be too picky on it.

If you want to watch and discuss TNA do it, it's a wrestling company like any other who happens to have worldwide cover.

No, it's not, it's just that you defend TNA even when it's undefendable. I like TNA, I'd love TNA to succeed, I was watching this shit weekly when it still had NWA in the title but guess what? I realize the product is pretty shit. So much so that I've given up on it, because after watching it weekly in 2010 I don't see the point in risking more time on something which never learns from its mistakes.

Liking obscure shit is irrelevant - do I? Yes. Because I don't get how someone takes a dislike to certain products when they watch something so similar to it. It makes no sense to me. But for Christ sake, you watch Lucha, Lucha is more obscure to these forums than anything else. And it's bad, real bad.

How the hell ECIII based off RGIII you still have yet to explain this KillJoy

The characters themselves are not similar. He's not saying that. Simply the name of ECIII is based off of Robert Griffin III's nickname, RGIII.

It's simple tactics that are used by every wrestling company, not just TNA, to use something based off of something else to give the fans something to correlate it to.

"Hey look! It's Sting and he looks like the guy from that movie! I liked him, so now I'll like Sting!"

Now if you're going to disagree that they used RGIII's nickname as inspiration for ECIII, then I understand people's frustration with you.

No, your face is bad. Your face is real bad.

I don't really disagree with anything he said.

Tell me how remarkably stupid I am. Lord know I need to be taken down a peg or two.

I guess I don't disagree with anything he said either, I don't even know what he was talking about. I was just making a general statement.

Off topic, it's unfuckingbelievable that Bob Sapp was never really picked up in the US by any wrestling promotion. He might be scariest looking guy wrestling has ever seen.

I mean, I know, his actual skills are awful, but still wrestling is an industry based largely on a guy's look. Sapp has the look for sure. If looking scary won fights and matches, he'd be undefeated.

Bob Sapp scary? Don't see it, dude. For a big black guy I thought he was very non-scary.

He's just a big angry black guy. Basically Bobby Lashley but with less talent in the ring and an actual sense of aggression. Either way, AJ Styles defending the title against the likes of Sapp will do nothing. Wrestle-1's first event was supposed to have been good but since then they've not been delivering on what Muta said. I guess it's cause Japan's wrestling scene is actually pretty competitive in-terms of talent.
