Piracy

All of the studios in Hollwood wanted to make the Mist, but the Director wasn't willing to give up the ending of the story and he stuck to his guns. Good decision.

As bad as Venom was treated by Sam "out of touch with post 60's Spidey" Raimi (seriously, the guy is a hack but his fanboys gizz all over him every chance they get), nothing was as bad as Brett Ratner's abortion of the Phoenix in X-Men 3. You have the single most powerful character in all of the Marvel Universe and did exactly nothing with her. God that pissed me off so bad.

Saw the first SAW, fucking loved it. LOVED it. Never got around to seeing the second. Saw the the third and absolutely wanted my money back. Shit. pure shit. Predicted the finish within the first 15 minutes. Just made for pure money making purposes, becuase they know the teenie boppers and moronic 23 and under girls will go. terrible movie.

The 3rd X-Men was fucked before jump street (so to speak) because the actor playing Nightcrawler wanted more money to come back, then Hallie Berry (whom I shall dispise forever because of) demanded more money to come back.. and the dick playing Cyclops wanted a larger role for his character. Hugh Jackman (??) was the only happy individual in the mix, as the entire trilogy was focused on Wolverine.

Nightcrawler was amazing in the 2nd one, but the X Universe is filled with blue mutants, and Kelsey Grammar did a damn good job as Beast, so Crawler wasn't missed.

Halle Berry was fucking terrible in all 3 movies and I still scratch my head to this day over her casting. She didn't want to come back unless she had a bigger role, and unfortunately, they caved to her.

James Marsden had every right to be pissed off about the misuse of Cyclops. Cyclops is the X-Men period. The team leader is made to look second fiddle to Wolverine in all 3 of the movies, and only in the third one does he grow a spine, but gets killed ten minutes later. The Phoenix story was about Cyclops and Jean, and they fucked it up to make Wolverine the guy, a complete butchering of X-Men canon. (Don't fuck with me on X-Men, I have every issue from Uncanny 150 to current and all of the New Series.) I was obsessed with X-Men growing up, and that third movie chaps my ass in the worst way.

Venom WASNT EVEN THE MAIN FUCKING VILLAIN!!!! and got 30 minutes??VENOM!!! FUCKING VEN-FUCKING-OM. LABORIOUS.

Sam Raimi is out of touch. If it were up to him, some other 60's character like Chameleon or Mysterio would get more air time. Avi Arad fought to get Venom in the third one badly because Raimi didn't want him in. Raimi is so damn out of touch it's ridiculous.

Spiderman Villains: and watchability

Green Goblin, Venom, Carnage/Doc Ock...........who cares after that.

Spiderman 2 was a bore fest and a half. Spidey doesn't like being Spidey, for some unexplained reason loses his powers because he's a cry baby, then decides to come back at the end, whoopy doo.

You and me both. I was absolutely disgusted with the 3rd installment for how they gutted practically ALL of the characters. They "kill off" Scott Summers, without giving him the role he truly should've had since he was MARRIED to fucking Jean Grey! They jack off Xavier in the "cliffhanger" portion of the movie, only to end it after the credits to discover he hi-jacked another body. (leaving it open for what, exactly)

They took the legion virus (I think thats correct) and took out practically everyone at the end, but the bit with Mystique in the middle really pissed me off. And finally, as you said.. The Phoenix.. the single greatest power in the books.. and she stands next to Magneto, batting her eyelashes.

I was obsessed as a child as well Shocky. and it was bullshit how they did Cyclops. rightfully, all of those movies shouldve been 5 hours long LOL. I mean Colossus gets NO shine.

AND WERE

THE FUCKING HELL

IS GAMBIT!!!!

The reason they did all that, was becuase Wolverine is the "coolest" X Men, who they could make the most money off of. Plain and simple. He is the John Cena of the X men.

This was truly my hope for a mystery villain in Spider-Man 3, or a surprise ending setting up the possibility. Instead, we get a guy that to the best of my knowledge is more out of a Batman cartoon (Clayface) than a Spider-Man novel.

Gambit's name is on a list early in X2. I've never seen the third all the way through, but that's all I know of Gambit, my favorite of the Xmen.

Don't even fucking get me started. This was my single greatest disappointment. Gambit, his love obsession with Rogue, and his entire fucking character were.. hands down.. my single greatest love for X-Men.

So what do I get? I get Rogue as a little girl who falls in love with Iceman, which was more Jubilee (sp?) than Rogue.. and Gambit gets the fucking shaft.

Furthermore.. the two greatest villains to me.. Apocolypse (sp?) and Mr. Sinister. NEITHER ONE GOT SHIT.. because Magneto was the most famous, and they wanted to play off Wolverine and the gov't for the other.

No Apocalypse, and No Sinister chap my ass in the worst way too. I just hate the, trying to make comic books realistic, approach to the movies.

Gambit getting the shaft was just terrible.

And while I liked X2, the best they could come up with was William Stryker. William Stryker, a one time character out of a graphic novel 25 years ago that had no major impact on the X-Franchise is now the main villian in a film, grrr.

Marvel had, and unofficially (with some explaining to do) still has the ability.. to make a TON of X-Men movies. Freddy & Jason had like what, 10 a piece? X-Men could easily do that with the right planning and work.

If they brought in Sinister to play off the Cyclops/Jean Grey situation (which they'd have to explain Cyclops not really dying, and it might not be 'hard' since we didn't technically SEE him die) anyways, if they brought Sinister in for that.. I'd think they'd have to bring in the induction of Cable and Stryfe.

Apocalypse would be another perfect villain to bring in, but you'd definately have to introduce Cable from the future, and Bishop as well. Plus Forge. That would take a lot of work, more than they'd likely wanna put forth.. but think of how great the movie would be.

Gambit getting the shaft was just terrible.

Gambit got the shaft because his storylines were giving to everyone else. Iceman took his love angle with Rogue, and since they made some of the characters younger than they should've been, they kinda f*cked him out of a spot.

(Angel being a teen in the 3rd movie was a screwjob, even though I did like the character none the less.. speaking of Angel, he'd have to play a big role in an Apocalypse movie)

The reason I loved X2 is because they tried to focus on more than 2 characters. They focused on Pyro, Iceman, Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Colossus and Nightcrawler. (All of which, minus NC, got bigger roles in the 3rd movie) They ended with a great hint at the Phoenix, then royally f*cked us with where they went with it.

Stryker was horrible for a Main Villain, but at least he brought in Lady Deathstrike.. even if the main role could've been used greatly for other villains. Once again, it all goes back to focusing on the "most popular" in Wolverine.

If I bought the movie/game/c.d. why is it illegal for me to make a ton of extra copies, if I'm giving them away for free?

Because they lose money over it. Some industries have lost billions due to this.

Its MY personally bought movie, and if I have an 'x' amount of free blank c.d.'s/discs, I should be fully within my rights to make extra copies and give them to whom I so choose. It shouldn't be illegal, or a crime, for me to do that.

It's not yours, the company still owns all the rights to whats on it, not you. Like if you bought spiderman 3, you own the disc but sony and marvel still own all the copyrights to whats on it, it's their movie.

Also, while it may not be illegal to give them away freely, it shouldn't be a crime for me to charge a person who's receiving them, either. I wouldn't be charging them for the movie. I'd be charging them for the time I spent, making them a copy. Why is that a crime?!

Because you are selling something that doesn't belong to you. Check the legal rights on the disc, it states you are not allowed to make copies of whats on it, it's part of the agreement you made when buying it. Also why would I buy a $20 DVD when I can get the same from you for $5? They lose money.

If we are talking the Music industry it is one that needs the kick up its ass. But they come out with this huge argument over the drop in CD sales from when CDs came in, the reason I would say and I have seen it in other places is that people were buying CDs of the Vinyl that they had so they could play them again. Meaning that people have caught up with the music that they wanted to get, combine in a huge decline in the quality of music that is being put out and played on the commercial radio stations being crap. You have less interest in the buying of CDs that have crap music on them.

There is also legal downloads that hurt them. People like their ipods and want all their music on it, and logic would assume allowinig downloads direct to ipods would be a good idea. That is why CD sales drop, people would rather download it to thier pretty ipods. Who could blame them? But companies should just give them a legal option, which they do. They still get their cash, just in a different way.

Hey, what two men do in the privacy of their own tent in the Florida Everglades is their own.... Oh wait. You meant the OTHER kind of piracy. My bad. lol
