The Warriors

The Backbreaker Machine
Anyone watched this movie, because i consider it a damn good movie and a cult classic, i watched it again for the first time in ages, and found the extra featurettes on the Director's Cut i bought were very interesting in how they made the movie.

But besides that, the movie is well done even though most of the actors are basically now forgotten or moved on to other things, what is people's views on the film?

When you consider the elements that make cult classics, one factor that always runs through the film is a sense of unreality, but not total unreality.

Think about cult classics like "Night of the Living Dead, " "Rocky Horror Picture Show," and the Indiana Jones movies. They all tried to make you believe, but in the end you had to be struck by the impossibility of any of those things happening.

It's the same with "The Warriors." You had an action-packed movie that revolved around a foolish, unreal premise; that gangs could unite and rule New York City. Cyrus' goal was to take a bunch of anarchists who's entire lives were spent rebelling against authority...... and unite them.

Ridiculous, of course, and that was proven early in the film. But the rest of the movie could be termed a morality play by the makers of the movie in showing us why such a thing could never happen and how foolish Cyrus was to ever think it could.

Swan & his gang were like Alice in Wonderland.

Great film.

Its a good movie Angel, i attempted to buy a replica Warrior's vest online....didn't get it though :(.
