Orton's RKO Botch On Raw!

Norcal, how dare you take this moment away from our posters!! They need to all sound smart and proud because they're able to point out a flaw from live television since that's never happened before.

Fucking Lulz.

It's no more an inane thing to discuss than 90% of what else is discussed on this forum.

Oh what the fuck ever lil missy, whenever I RKO people in street fights I always hit the move cleanly. Jus sayin.

Yea, so it was wildly obvious. I literally said out loud "what the fuck just happened?" :lmao:

Anyways, shit happens. I have zero inclination as to what the miscommunication was there, and no one covered for it well at all, not the wrestlers or the commentators.

Pretty meaningless, the show goes on. Everyone forgot it within 2 minutes, surely nothing to freak out about.

You wouldn't have a chance to RKO me in a street fight, I'd hospitalize you and end your career with one swing of my bottled water.

GreatWhiteSam... I was right in front of the ring. Orton took responsibility. Simple as that. They redid the finisher. Everyone around me in the audience said "what just happened??" then you could plainly see Orton take the blame, and then he did another RKO.

It was cool to see up close how they communicate to each other.

Peace Out
Juju

I hate how people are like "Oh shut up," "its just a botch," or "Stupid responses"

Well guess what, Oh shut up, its a botch from one of if not the best in the business today, our responses are not stupid.

Yes they are.

These guys may be the best in the business but this is LIVE TV. They go for months (sometimes years) without botching anything, week after week. And now that they do, you guys want to make a national case about it? Get a fucking hobby or something... BESIDES this forum.

Wrestling is my hobby. A national case? Only because we want to talk about a botch? Yeah, i know botches from Show or Orton don't happen often. But, last night it did and we wanted to talk about it.
Isn't the the whole point of a wrestling forum to talk about things from wrestling?

And there we have it. The #1 forum response when you have no real comeback... the "Isn't this a wrestling forum that's here for discussion" speech.

So, to answer you, I AM discussing wrestling. I'm discussing how stupid wrestling fans are for making a national case out of a botch that happens once in a blue moon on live television, or were you not reading?

How can anyone say that what we saw tonight was anything other than Randy Orton botching his signature move?

I am glad that I am seeing the majority of the internet place the blame where it should be (on Orton), though a few select people want to say it was Big Show's doing? :lmao:

How do you figure? It was obviously supposed to be an RKO, Big Show went down, Orton looked as though his feet were wobbly and he failed to go down with Show. His fault. Show did nothing wrong.

For someone who is supposed to be one of WWE's "best in-ring" technicians, that was pretty damn horrible, wasn't it?

I hope and believe Vince is blowing a gasket.

Woah. He botched his move on like the guy who it would be most difficult to perform it on (save Khali). AMAZING. Fire him Vince! He does this all the TIIIIMMMEEEEE! Oh wait, he doesn't...

Shit happens. Chill your beans son.

Well there is this botch, and then when he split Cody Rhodes head wide open with the business end of the ring bell a few months back, that my friend was a MAJOR BOTCH.
Im not one of these haters on Orton, everyone makes mistakes and its live TV but you seemed so adamant about no one being able to name two botches in five years. I had to call you out.

He said OVER two. Try again sonny Jim.

I'd be more inclined to believe you if you didn't misremember the actual ending sequence:

So they exchanged a few punches and Randy executed a good RKO.

And there wasn't a contradictory account:

No, he said "he botched that". That's ambiguous as to if he meant "he" as in himself, or "he" as in Big Show. They weren't clear in the article as to who he meant.

And that you can watch the video, where the camera doesn't pan away from Orton at any time, and you can't see Orton "plainly take the blame." I'd imagine it'd be a bit fourth wall breaking for him to shrug and go "My bad."

OMG ORTON BOTCHED AN RKO ON RAW?

Looked more like Big Show botched it than Orton, due to Show clearly yelling "FUCK" while getting up off of the ring. Hard to tell who was at fault, but one move isn't going to send Orton packing, he's signed with the WWE until 2019, not to mention he's still the best in ring wrestler the company has to offer.

Lets face it Big Show's probably one of the hardest performers to work with in the WWE.

This is one of the first times I clearly remember Orton botching anything, unlike several other starts so many people around here are high on.

Remember that time R-Truth jumped out of the ring before the Miz was in place and hit his head?

Or the time Cena slammed the Miz through the barricade at MW27 causing the Miz to bash his head on the concrete floor and get a concussion?

Or that time Batista power bombed Cena incorrectly, and fucked Cena's neck up?

Or Triple H botching the ending of the match with Undertaker at WM27?

Or most of Kingston's matches?

Or any match Sin Cara was in?

Lets think of all the great spots Orton has given us over the past three years, the Air-RKO that Bourne received. The RKO Punk ate while jumping off the top rope into the ring at WM26. An enjoyable Great Khali match on Smackdown, the No-DQ match with Kane on Smackdown, the countless 5 star encounters with Christian, Rhodes, and not to mention two good matches with Mark Henry last year.

Its the #1 response because its true.
I'm just defending the "Stupid responses"

Good grief kid. Watch it again. The spot where Randy is pushed into the ropes was supposed to happen, Big Show just sold the RKO mistakenly. It was supposed to be a smooth transition to the chokeslam attempt and then the RKO finish.

I'm not picking up what you're putting down. Orton has to jump, Big Show has to fall on his face. It's not like he was trying to hit a Canadian Destroyer; Big Show doesn't exactly have to do a standing shooting star press to sell it.

As for who botched, it was The Big Show. First off, no way was Orton meant to hit that RKO. The only people that get hit by finishers after their opponent taunts for it are Heath Slater and-- well, that's about it. Maybe David Otunga if he's having an off day. Am I to believe that Randy Orton had a rather nasty shit that morning, expelled his brain through his anus and forgot that he's supposed to jump to hit his finisher? No, he was positioning himself - as he has hundreds of times before - to get pushed off into the ropes, hence why he didn't take to the air. Moments later you see what was meant to happen when they redo the spot. Orton drags Show up, they pick up where they left off, Show pushes Orton into the ropes, Show goes for the chokeslam, Orton counters into the RKO. That's what was supposed to happen in the first place - however, Big Show dropped to the floor like a dead salmon instead of pushing Orton off.

I know, I know - I should be a forensic scientist.

In other words Show is used to hit moves on so that they can look incredible on a guy so tall and fat. But instead it's the exact opposite. Show is so large and strong anytime Orton jumps to even attempt that crap on show, he should be able to throw Orton out the ring every-time. Just like when Orton hit that b.s. on Khali, no way in hell Khali shouldn't have chunked Orton out the ring. But the aftermath of both sequences is that it shows how fake wrestling really is. There use to be a time when u couldn't never tell. So it's not the wrestlers fault that it's a botch it's wwe's fault because nobody that big is suppose to even attempt to try and sell a move like that.
