Orton has left a void...It's really time for HHH to go heel

Orton pretty much officially turned face on RAW as he teamed up with his long term rival John Cena. Orton is fantastic as a face, but WWE struggles when it comes to needing good heels, and Orton has left a void.

After Monday Night's RAW is does look like the WWE is really trying to build the new stars. Maybe Shawn leaving was a wake up call. Either way, lets hope it continues.

Triple H's turn can easily transistion from his feud with Sheamus. The turn is inevitable and since there can be no more DX team-ups for a long, long time (maybe never again) Have Sheamus taunt Triple H about his age, and the passing to a new era (throwing in Shawn leaving) and about how Triple H's time is coming up.

Have Sheamus go over at the next PPV by finding H's sledgehammer and runnin amock. Then the night on RAW a tag team match Triple H & Kofi Vs Shemus & Dibiase. Sheamus can't taunt HHH before the match about how he's the oldest in the match.

Sheamus should knock out the ref while Kofi is the legal man, go for the sledgehammer again, but Triple H will get the better of him. BOOM Dibiase goes down, BOOM Sheamus follows. Kofi picks up the win.

The celebration starts with Kofi's music but is cut short by, you gussed it, Triple H takes out Kofi (starting a new feud with him) with the hammer.

Next week on RAW Triple H can explain his actions e.g He's not giving up his spot to the young guys.

Ermm , I agree with you about a Triple H heel turn, Hunter is always great as a heel, but do they really need another main event heel , I think there will be a heel from Smackdown coming to Raw , like Punk or Jericho so that void probably will be filled , but a feud with Triple H would be awesome for Kofi , but I think they will continue the Sheamus and HHH feud to the draft anyways !

Why on earth would they do that? They are trying to continue the transformation of Batista into a good heel and continue to get Swagger over. Turning Triple H heel will immediately put him back at the top of the card, and two weeks later you'll be complaining about how Triple H needs to go away.

Trips needs to keep working w/ Sheamus and putting these younger talents over. The best way for him to do that is to be a babyface.

Orton is fantastic as a face.....

You lost me here. Orton is a horrible babyface. WWE is causing the continuity alarm to go haywire with this one. But, then again, it's not a bad thing for Vince, because he's trained fans to have a just this side of non-existant long term memory.

"What are you talking about?" Well, good question. What did Randy Orton do 1 year ago? He dropped a woman on her head, and molested her unconcious body. In front of her husband, who he had just fastened to the ring. And, after that, he knocked the husband out?

How about prior to that? Well, when people didn't think he had a chance against the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, what did he do? He dropped another woman on her head. At least he didn't grope and make out with the body this time. Vince McMahon wants people to cheer for a woman beater. And, the vast majority of fans do it, because Vince and the writing crew (which means Stephanie) tell them to.

"But, he teamed with Cena! Cena's a good guy." True, but Cena's a good guy that, among almost half of wrestling fans, has X-Pac Heat. People are legitimately tired of him. John Cena is the standard bearer for stale gimmicks.

"But, people cheer for him when his music hits. Then, they only boo him because they want to be cool." Do me a favor. Go on either Google or Wikipedia, and look up "Pavlov's Dog."

Honestly, I think that WWE is trying to use Randy Orton, who will, in my not even approaching humble opinion, be a horrible face, to give John Cena some very much needed edge to his character. Frankly, I don't think it will work. A better idea would be to turn Cena heel. And, don't have him turn back into a rapper. WWE needs to do something fresh with Cena.

I partially agree with you Modest-Genius, Orton left a void, and even though I feel that WWE isn't gonna be going down the drain entertainment wise because they lost a huge heel, where as they still have 2 great heels in Jericho and Batista, with more to come, as guys such as Miz and McIntyre is filling the mid-card as the greater heels.

But currently I don't see WWE turning Triple H heel, Triple H is working a nice little program with Sheamus, putting him over strongly, and establishing him as a guy to be reckoned with in the main event scene, which I see as more important than turning Triple H heel.
As Steamboat Ricky said, Triple H turning heel will put him on top once more, put him into an incredible dominating position once more, currently I don't feel that WWE has that guy to counter Triple H's heel work, unless you give us another round of Triple H vs Cena / Orton feud, which wouldn't serve the purpose of putting talent over properly.
Yes Kofi Kingston could have the potential to run this feud against the heel Triple H, but in the end, Kofi isn't in the position to properly feud with Triple H if you ask me, being that looking back, I can mainly recall Triple H feuding with big muscular guys with ground based abilities, Kofi is too high flying for it to seem proper if you ask me.

A Triple H heel turn, will hopefully be made in due time, but it will be most fitting when we're on the edge of having some big build guy going towards the main event scene, currently we got that in Sheamus, a heel, so Triple H stays face, but for example a guy like Skip Sheffield, if he ever hits the upper mid-card while Triple H is around, perfect opportunity to turn Triple H if Skip keeps the goofy face like characteristic, any other way I simply don't see it ever happening, Triple H won't be working a proper feud with a smaller guy, yes he worked one with Hardy, but I must quite honestly admit it wasn't that well build.

imo i believe the fans of WWE are starting to return to the attitude era. fans are cheering orton, HHH, etc. and booing cena, and other faces. i think HHH and Orton need to stay as they are, and let the fans decide how they want to cheer. Orton plays the perfect tweener, floating between face and heel.

Orton may have seemed to left a void, but a rise in status by Jack Swagger, Batista, and Sheamus, all as top heels, will totally fill the void left by Orton. Then we have other high mid-card heels: MizShow, Jericho, Carlito, and whomever they're building on NXT at the moment.

If anything, things pretty much balance out, as Shawn Michaels left the void as a mega-face of the company that Orton pretty much filled out.

That has nothing to do with the attitude era. If anything, Austin's guest hosting proved that the WWE is moving more away from the raunchy style of the attitude era and making a more mature, yet family friendly product. I think about it like this -- the WWE is actually maturing. We have more realistic feuds, more realistic emotions, and more realistic matches, as opposed to the Attitude Era where guys were running around with boners, making dick jokes, and dealing heavily with midgets, mops, etc. I mean, we still may see the repercussions of these jokes, seeing as Hornswoggle and Santino are still around, but overall, the product has matured, and it's earned itself a family-friendly rating because of it.

I disagree, HHH dose great heel work, but that void left by Orton when he turned Face is a good thing. For young talent to have the opportunity to step up and move into the main event, which is truly what I think the WWE wants (Taker, HHH, batista have all talked about retirement, and Jericho, edge, ect. are also passing there "primes" and going more into the twilight of their career, you never really know how much longer you can count on them being able to carry such a large work-load, or how long they will want to).

This Void is an opportnity, there is a huge lack of a heel presence and I think they are counting on Sheamus, McIntyer, The Miz, Jack Swagger ect. to take this opportunity to step up and solidify themselves as main event caliber talent.

I agree that their needs to be a new truly hated heel, I think that they're going to fill it with cm punk in the draft, plus i see them keeping batista around for a while to feud with cena.Who right now is more hated than cm punk and batista? The feud i would mark out for is Punk vs. The Viper, It could be one of the truly great feuds if Vince decides to do it the right way.
p.s. I would absolutely love to see punk get punted back to chicago....

It's not like randy orton acted like buddies with cena. after their tag match, orton and cena were both watching their own backs. cena doesnt trust orton, and orton doesnt trust cena. orton's still a face. triple h acknowledged their past in their backstage segment a few weeks ago. it's sort of like rock and austin. rock, who was a super babyface in 2000, didn't like austin, but austin was still face, and a great one at that. orton has a huge fanbase and it shows from the reactions he's getting. some say his reaction this past monday night was austin-esque. orton is playing the role of badass face perfectly, so far...it's still way too early to judge anything

i dont think triple h should go heel just yet. he still has a program with sheamus and i think it should go on for a while.

Just because Orton teamed with Cena for one night, doesn't make him a face. It just gives Orton another push into transforming into a face after everything he's been thru with Legacy. I think if the WWE was smart, they would make Orton into an anti-hero type like Austin was, but with a demented edge to him. I don't see Orton coming out and pandering to the fans anytime soon tho, but I expect him to be tossed in the Batista/Cena mix at some point.

As far as Triple H, I think it would be great for him to go heel again. There really isn't anything else he can do as a face right now. HBK is gone, DX is done, and Batista is pretty much the only legit main heel right now on Raw. Unless Swagger gets a HUGE push, or another draft is coming up, WWE needs to get some more heels going.

You must not have watched wrestling for very long because continuity has been thrown the window a lot. How about in 2005 with HHH beat Flair within an inch of his life and was tag teaming with him just one year?

Orton has been getting face pops for a while ever since Legacy kept costing him title shots. He was a horrible babyface back then but that was to due to the fact that Lesnar left and they had to have a new youngest heavyweight champion. This time it could really work and I believe it would be better for him to go to Smackdown and be the top face there.

And this does not mean that Cena will turn heel for the 10000th time because he doesn't need to right now.

I'm glad that "fans" are starting to like Orton as much as I always have. I personally, like everyone else over the age of 13, hate Cena. The boring moveset, the most typical of turn arounds... Flying shoulder, flying shoulder, flying shoulder, The ******-Shuffle, and then AA. It's boring.(Anyway, off topic)

I think Hunter isn't too far off of retiring either. I think he needs one last heel turn, and then right before he retires, have a quick babyfaced turn. Seeing him work over Sheamus would be nice, and I would like to see HHH of the old where he destroys anyone and everyone with the sledge hammer.
But, the WWE also needs to bring in new faces... If HHH gets worked over by Sheamus, it can easily build heat, because HHH is already a fan favorite.

So bottom line is, I'd like to see HHH as a heel again, but, I want to see new faces more, and that's what I think needs to be done.

Side note: I think they tried to get Cena more "edgy" after Bragging Rights, and Cena was savagly beaten by Orton. Cena kept saying "I'm gonna be bad..." or however he tries to sound tough...

Orton is horrible as a babyface? Are you seriously this ******ed? Did you watch when Evolution kicked him out and he took the role of top babyface on the roster? The fans absolutely loved him, did you see when he turned on Legacy before they could turn on him? THE FANS LOVED HIM

He is by far the most over guy in Wrestling today face or heel. He is the man

Austin was a wife beater in real life. We cheered for him. What's the difference? Do NOT say different era.

The difference between the two lies in the presentation and the circumstances. In Orton's case, it was blatantly placed in front of fans. In Austin's, he's only a woman beater IF you place your faith in Debra's word. Frankly, she had, and still has, every possible reason to lie about that, so, like most fans, it would seem, don't believe her.

But, even if you accept that Austin beat Debra in real life, I would point out that nothing I brought up earlier was based in real life. I was refering to the character.

And, as far as "I must not have watched wrestling for long" is concerned, I've been a wrestling fan since 1985. I've seen the continuity alarm go off more times than I care to count. This is just the first I'm I've had a chance to mention it since joining this forum. But, Kenan, you're further proving my point. You brought up a WWE storyline, which, as I've mentioned earlier, is Vince McMahon training the fans.

Let's ignore, for a second, the fact that Orton's face push is based entirely on "My evil minions failed me. Orton smash! Now, you're tired of me smashing you? Orton smash!" Someone explain to me how Orton's the good guy in this.

And, as far as his post-Evolution face turn is concerned, it lasted all of a month and a half, he lost his title immediately, and people were only behind him because they were hoping that someone, anyone, would be able to shut Triple H up. So, I see no reason to believe that that failed attempt at a face push was anything other than just another reason to keep this guy a heel.

He's Not, He's not a good guy at all. He has kept his pyschotic Crazed about to murder you if you look at him the wrong way character. The WWE has not changed anything about it. He teamed with Cena because he Hates Batista (Kayafabe). I still honestly thought Cena was going to get an RKO after that Tag Match, which would have been pretty damn awesome . Orton's character hasn't changed, the WWE just decided to stop TRYING to force people to boo him. They were doing everything in there power to keep people booing him but he's been getting Big pop's for a LONG time now. The E just gave up trying to hide the fact people love the guy.

He was a medicore to horrible babyface and that wasn't mainly his fault. His face turn was a direct result of Brock Lesnar leaving earlier in the year. He wasn't ready for that world title or face turn and it took facing the Undertaker in a 9 month feud for him to get back to what he is truly good at: being a heel.

Orton's character HAS changed, though. You said so yourself. You expected an RKO. Heel Orton would have done exactly that. In fact, Hell... Orton HAS done exactly that before when Cena and Orton were forced to team up in the past. But, since this is simply the first night of what I consider to be a flawed face turn, I remain hopeful that they don't destroy what fans like about the characer with his face turn.

I'm sure that we can all list a few people that face turns have ruined the popularity of. John Cena, Triple H, and Kane all come to mind immediately.

While Orton has left a huge void with his turn. Another Triple H heel turn isn't the answer, he's been back and forth between heel and face so much that I feel like im watching a tennis match at the thought of it. What WWE needs is someone that has either never been a heel or hasn't been one in the last 5 years. While Im not a fan of John Cena, right now would be a perfect time to turn him again, he gets mixed reactions from the fans and would work out better as a heel at this time. He's been steady as the babyface quite for some time, it's definitely time to turn him back to what made him a name.

Ok, how about the countless times Austin beat up a woman on WWE programming? You didn't think this through, did you?

"Countless" is a severe overstatement. But, barring that part, pretty much every time Austin ever hit a Stunner on a woman, he was physically provoked. The only exception I can come up with was the 15th anniversary show of RAW, where Austin his Linda McMahon with a Stunner. I may be wrong about that. And, even then, after the Stunner, he walked away. Orton decided, in those cases, to further violate his victims afterwards. So, at least in my mind, Orton was much worse than anything Austin had ever done to any of his "victims."

But, I do have to admit that I misspoke earlier, and I do stand corrected. But, since all you've done is show that Austin was an asshole, and I'm showing that Orton is worse than Austin, exactly how does that make Orton a face?

I think that instead of turning Triple H heel to fill the void of top heel they need to establish someone new, Ted DiBiase comes to mind. They can push him a little more and give him the title to get him over. The Miz is also someone that can fill that void, he needs to drop his titles and beat Cena to get him over, he would get some pretty good heat and he could fill that roll for years to come.

I personally don't want to see Trips in the main event for awhile and I will probably get my wish seeing that he is still rumored to take some time off. I think that Sheamus will take him out of action (kayfabe) and that will most definatly get him over and get him major heat.

So to completly answer your question, no it's not time to turn Triple H heel to fill the void Orton left, it's time to build new, yound, fresh talent to fill the void.

Physically provoked? LMAO What woman is going to physically provoke Austin? Did Stacy physically provoke him when he stunned her for not drinking the beer? Did Lita physically provoke him when he and HHH beat her?

Orton decided, in those cases, to further violate his victims afterwards. So, at least in my mind, Orton was much worse than anything Austin had ever done to any of his "victims."

Yeah, that's his "viper" gimmick in full effect.

But, I do have to admit that I misspoke earlier, and I do stand corrected. But, since all you've done is show that Austin was an asshole, and I'm showing that Orton is worse than Austin, exactly how does that make Orton a face?

There is a fine line in pro wrestling between faces and heels. Only a few are clear cut. If you had been paying attention since, say 1996, you would know this. Austin wasn't exactly a face, but the people loved him. Same with Orton.

And, by the way, countless is NOT a severe overstatement. It's a fact.

Orton is the ultimate tweener. Even as the top heel, people love him and chant for him. He's so good that he can keep the same heel character but work as a face and get still get over. He'll be the cunning viper. The apex predator, whatever that is. And he'll get that crazy look in his eye. He's not going to drop those traits to become the typical bubble gum face. Orton doesnt need to be that kind of face to get a face's pop.

As far as HHH goes, I cant see him turning heel anytime soon because his program with Sheamus is scheduled to continue. Plus his best friend, HBK, just retired. The memory is too fresh. HHH is going to get cheered by association.

I cant see Cena turning heel. He brings in way too much money for the company as a face. Hulk Hogan only went Hollywood after milking the red and yellow for a decade. To keep himself relevant, he went heel. Plus he had the perfect angle to work with the right look. How would Cena turn heel without going the Hollywood route? Would he have the same look that he has now? Would he take a step back and start trying to rap again? If he turns heel, there's going to be a whole lot of little kids no longer spending their parents money on Cena merchandise. Heels usually dont get commercials and as many TV spots outside of wrestling. When DiBiase Jr.'s movie came out, they were teasing us with a face turn for him. After his movie buzz died, he was back to being the lap dog heel. Cena is too much of a cash cow as a face to turn heel anytime soon. He'll only turn heel when his sales start to die.

Orton has not left a void. He can work as a face against greener guys helping them get over. Its easier to work as a heel so him turning face is going to be better for business in the long run. He wont drop much of his heel persona so he could always go back to playing the heel but people will cheer for him no matter what. He's the best thing to come along in wrestling since the Rock and lots of people see that and they will cheer for him no matter who he RKO's.

There is no heel void. Its being filled by the new batch of young guys trying to make a name for themselves. If they fail miserably, Orton could just as easily go back to beating up Cena.

Yes. Stacy spit the beer in Austin's face. Last I checked, spitting on someone is assault. Assault is physical provocation.

Lita? Well, to be honest, I had forgotten about that. Let me look that up on youtube. Hold on. Wow. He whooped her ass with that chair. But, to be honest, that was WWE basically begging and pleading for fans to hate Austin. Keep in mind, until that moment, Austin was the company's topface. That was the only reason this happened. I think that people in the audience knew that.

Does that mean that Austin was some kind of great guy, and we should have cheered him? Of course not. But, you deride Austin's character as evil,. which it was. Yet, you're defending Orton because "that's part of his character." That's the entire problem. Hitting the woman wasn't even the issue, to me. But, you're defending the molestation afterwards.

While I agree with you that people are cheering Orton in spite of his actions, I do see that WWE is writing him into something more family friendly, which I think is a huge mistake. Face Orton should never exist. Leave him a tweener, and able to work with anyone. That allows him to stay with the heel actions that made him popular, and just not care about who he fights. It would also make him more unpredictable, since there's no "face/heel"line to determine who he attacks.

Stacy did NOT spit the beer in his face. All she did was give the bitter beer face and refuse to drink it. You fail. Just give it up.
