You don't win back the Intercontinental Title by countout now do you?

You don't.

But you do win it back by Ted Dibiase hitting you over the head with a belt.

Again, perfectly fine, but if I have a clean victory in front of me, doesn't that seem more important?

Actually you would win it when he hits your opponent but that's just my experience in wrestling.

Not when you're a heel. A victory is a victory.

So we're ignoring the point I made, are we?

Welcome to the Wrestlezone Tournament

Edit; at the least, IAP is consistent and I saw you voted KVE. I more mean Nick, Shocky, Jack Hammer

Von Erich wasn't nearly as dominant as Yoko was during his title reign. I am being consistent, seeing the two scenarios aren't close to one another. It's not like Tornado is 15-1 against Perfect. He pinned Perfect exactly one more time than Perfect pinned him (2-1, pinfalls, against Perfect).

Perfect is smart, savvy and, most important, he's a survivor. He's a hell of a lot smarter than that meathead Tornado. In the first round of a tournament like this, Perfect would scheme up a way to get through, especially when his opponent's as smart as a bag of hammers.

So where were Perfect's wits when he lost?

Also, isn't it fair to say that for being Perfect, that when push came to shove, he'd do the job?

Well, he did have Perfect dead to rights again before Dibiase hit him with a belt. So there's that.

I don't do just the kayfabe deal; it's part of what annoys me about the Yoko-Piper match. Like, you know, Yokozuna is going to just start no selling during the match

For being such a big guy, Yokozuna was a fantastic seller. Even against the likes of Duggan and Typhoon, Yokozuna was always sure to give his opponents something to work with. I actually think it was the best aspect to his matches

I can think of 2 times Perfect pinned Von Erich in WWE and 1 time completely clean without Dibiase or anyones help.

What's wrong with kayfabe? Wrestling is mostly built on kayfabe at least since WWE has been around. Kayfabe makes wrestling awesome.

You keep digging Occam and you will be in China by breakfast tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing just fine.

And frankly, I want to see the clean win. I'm not calling you a liar, just saying that everything I've seen has either been count out or unclean.

And again... I said this earlier in a thread, but kayfabe, to me, is the booking of business to make money.

And who makes more money; Piper, or Yokozuna?

Survivor series 90 was relatively clean although I was refering to tag match they had sometime between Summerslam and when Kerry dropped it back.

Also kayfabe I don't think the guy who made all the money always won. If so Bruno would have been champion from when he beat Rogers until 1980. Garvin wouldn't have beat Flair for the title. Theres 2 examples there.

Hogan revolutionized wrestling. Twice. Storm didn't.

Thanks for killing my interest in the WZ tourney, along with just about everyone else.

This is how it happens every time. Reputation calls, voting for people because of what they did for the business. Nobody cares about who would actually win the match if it happened one on one, which is the whole point of the tourney.

Harthan brought the return of Haiku Hogan, and has likely pissed off Uncle Sam.

See what you've done?

Are you seriously getting this butthurt over that of all matches?

I'm annoyed that every tournament ever goes this way. There's no drama because no one thinks critically about it.

Who's going to win it this year? The Rock, or Austin, or Hogan? The only possible choices are a handful of megastars that the masses flock to because they don't care about the basic premise of the tournament. They relapse into the comfortable arguments and let popular vote ride them to another dull conclusion where one legend or another wins.

Why don't we all just have a big thread once a year where we say "Who's the best wrestler ever?" Same conclusion, but less drawn out. It's like bad reality television.

From what I've seen, Hogan has yet to win.

You know what this plan sounds like? The BCS

and that's worse than Communism

Or we could, you know, have fun with it.

I thought the basic premise of the tournament was to get more hits to the forum therefore there is no basic premise and people can come in and vote on any basis they please.

Are there rules to the tournament that I missed?

Or we could, you know, have fun with it.

Is it fun to watch people blindly vote for Hogan without even stopping to think about it for one second how close the match would actually be, given the relevant real world parameters, just because he was a big draw?

Apparently it is for everyone else. I should know better by now, I guess.

You seem to be acting fairly dramatic over one of the least consequential matches of the tournament. Hogan has never won the tournament. Hasn't even been to the finals in any tournament since I have been here. I do agree that often the arguments are excessively simplistic but that and most popular is what wrestling is all about. In many ways it is fitting. I hesitate to tell you how crappy your post was in that thread because it might drive you to suicide if your mom doesn't cut the crusts off your sandwich tomorrow.

It's irrelevant. I'll either stop posting in the tournament or make more arguments for upsets.

Either way, no one will particularly care about it, I imagine.
