One Web Day...

Pre-Show Stalwart
Today is One Web Day, that's right everybody:

Today is the day where users of the internet are encouraged to show how the internet affects there life. The idea is that it creates a visibal group of people who care about the future of the internet.

Pointless in my opinion, but each to there own....

Post your thoughts on One Web Day in here.

The internet allows me to play link-ups in world of warcraft with my 40 year old Bulgarian friends. Changed my life forever.

Who knows where me and my fellow WoW players might be today if it wasn't for the internet. Possibly socialising in person...I don't know.

Well we are rivals. But I guess that isnt enemies. But we are a tag team. So we are each trying to become one member of a tag team championship team. So we coexist for that reason. But tag team members usually have to be friends. So ill bring you to my house for the holidays, and all that.

The internet has allowed me to stalk young girls that aren't within city limits. Without the internet, I'd be stuck with the what-yucks we have around town. :lmao:

In all seriousness though.. the internet has allowed me to be more creative through writing. I find it easier to write through typing, and without other's opinions and judgments of my writing, I would've never truly knew how good or bad I was. Without other's opinions, I'd of never been able to fix the way I write to be better at it.

The internet also allows me to play games with different people. While I'm not into WoW, I'm mainly refering to xbox live.

Even though we mock the internet is damn powerful. Newspapers are really struggling right about now. One Major UK newspaper announced a huge fall in profits, citing the fact that it's website had over 25 million unique hits a year. I do not think that many newspapers were sold.

Television is even taking its first tiny steps into evolving thanks to the World Wide Wen, on demand sites such as 4OD and the BBC I Player are hugely beneficial to both the casual TV viewer and the television stations. If you miss the firt episode of the new show, rather than never be able to get into that show you can now just catch up during the week and be ready for the second show. ChannelBee; an online television channel is also a concept that you should expect to see become common place.

Social Networking, for buisnesses and bands as well as comedians etc. Are a great way to become popular or succesful with a much less level of input on you're behalf.

For me the Internet is a good way to kill some time, I'm not very rich, so poor infact that I can't afford World of Warcraft haha, I still play the odd free-game which although in comparison is very simple can still burn the odd half hour when neccisairy.

Fizzle, do you have MSN? If so, you need to add me. We could play the free games. :lmao:
