"OMG! Rock, Triple H, Taker & Lesnar all at Mania OMGLOL!!"

The 1-2-3 Killam

Mid-Card Championship Winner

I don't know how many people a day I see getting excited to see "all four of them on the same PPV card!" It's ridiculous. Those four were main eventing shows 10 years ago, and you can pick that shit up for $5 on Ebay, rather than spend $2,000 plus airfare and hotel for WrestleMania.

I'm not hating on WM, or any of those guys, I'm just saying...there's more than four guys who worked ten years ago, to get excited about. If Triple H, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, and the Rock are your reasoning for dropping that much cash, just watch some old tapes and give me your money. I will gladly go and see CM Punk retain the WWE Championship. Or John Cena beat the Rock. Or Ryback challenge the Undertaker's streak.

How often to do get a chance to see those 4 guys preform live on teh same card though? Many fans probably thought there chances of ever seeing those 4 guys live ever again had passed them buy.

BTW, if I wanted to watch a tape of a PPV all 4 of those guys were on, I would take WM19 over SummerSlam '02 anyday

If I were to go to WrestleMania 29, my current plan would be to watch Mania from the hotel, and save the money for all the festivities of the week. My balance so far looks like:

Standard room at Holiday Inn (5 nights): $516
Airfare from PDX to JFK and back: $360
WrestleMania 29 on PPV: $65
Average price of Raw floor tickets: $110
Average price of SD floor tickets: $110
Best available for TNA Impact show: $70

= $1231

That's still less than paying for floor seats at Mania. If the Hall of Fame looks good, I'll probably drop some cash on that as well. And I might pick and choose one or two Axxess events to go to, but not likely. Then I figure I'll spend a bunch of money on food, and all the drinks I buy for Forums guys and Wrestlezone crew. I owe Martyn Nolan a few drinks, and I'll probably end up buying food or drinks for a few of the wrestlers that will inevitably show up at the Wrestlezone Mania party. So I could see myself dropping $1500 or more on that trip. Which is why I've decided, I probably won't go to Mania itself. But getting to hang out with you guys, and the WZ crew and followers on Twitter would be a really fun week. Plus, I've never been to a TNA show, and I hear they put on some really fun live events.

Buying people booze won't make them want to spend time with you.

Unless they drink enough to forget who you are. I suppose you could meet some women while you are down there too.

You're good people, Killam.

You'll regret it but do whatever you want. Your grandkids are going to love the stories about the time you flew across the country and watched WM from a hotel room.

Go for the energy of Wrestlemania if anything. When I dropped $200 on a couple of tickets to see Wrestlemania last year when it was in Miami I was bit ashamed of myself with the impulsive buy, but it was more than worth when you had Jericho/Punk HHH/Taker, and Cena/Rock on the card. The energy and the feel of being in a moment like that was down right breathtaking. It reminded me why I was a fan in the first place. Don't ruin this for yourself by over thinking the ticket price.

You really think it was worth it? I just always figured if you sit further back you can't even tell what's going on. It's ok in smaller venues. There's not a bad seat in the Allstate Arena. But a big venue with 80, 90 thousand people? I'd rather be watching from a TV, and see everything that goes on, I think.

Kind of like a ruthless aggression era reunion. May have not been the best times for wwe but they sure did have a great roster back then.

What I think will happen:

Rock vs cena or punk: Wwe championship
Taker vs Brock or ryback : something like a submission match
Hhh v hbk or ryback

Well something along those lines at least.

They have giant titantrons all over the fucking place, you're not going to miss any of the action, & you'll be able to say you've been to a WM, you're paying for that feeling more than anything. I imagine that feeling will trump any feeling you ever get from see another wrestling show live again, the crowds at WM have got to be filled with the most electric fans in the world.

Also you're flying across the country, spending hundreds of dollars to see a couple TV tapings, that you can see on your TV for 100% free, when they air. Yet you're unwilling to drop that same money on a ticket that's going to happen once in a damn lifetime? How the fuck does that make any sense what so ever? You're not saving yourself money so much as depriving yourself of some really cool memories.

You plan on ordering WM & watching in on the TV in your room? and you think it's only gonna cost you $65... they charge like $20 to rent movies in hotel rooms, WM is gonna cost a fortune to watch it in your hotel room.

I honestly think you're much better off flying in Fri, & leaving Mon. morning, skipping all the TV taping nonsense, & instead spend that cash on a WM29 ticket, I highly doubt that you end up regretting.

No offense but that sounds ridiculous. Why would you spend all that money to go to Raw, SmackDown, and Impact? If you're going to take the time and are willing to spend the money then skip the tv shows and go to mania. You're prepared to drop nearly $300 for the three tv shows so I say just put that money toward a mania ticket. I got great seats for $200 so you can either get even better seats for your $300 or save $100 and get seats like mine. Going to mania will be a better experience than going to those other three shows. You don't need floor seats to have good seats.

I felt the exact same way. I dropped $200 on just a ticket last year and was kind of regretting it for months. Then when I was at that outdoor stadium on that nice Florida night, surrounded by over 70,000 screaming fans during that awesome HIAC match, it was well worth it. Now I have a great memory to look back on and I'm not missing the money. I'm still eating every day and still paying my mortgage every month.

I know money has different value to different people but HGR, if you're willing to drop that kind of money do yourself a favor and go to mania. You will regret it if you don't.

Basically what Justin said.

Never plan on going to any live wrestling event but if I had the chance I'd definitely go to WrestleMania. Usually it's the only wrestling PPV of the year that never lets me down. So yeah I say the money is worth it.

Never ANY live event? Oh man...that sucks. I've only been to a handful, on account of not having much money ever, but the few I've been to are magical, for lack of a better fitting term. It helps that I'm from Chicago, and every show I went to was just awesome. I went to Raw last year, and got see the surprise return of HBK, and also got to see Rock, Cena, Taker and HHH in the same night. As to not sound hypocritical, I went to see CM Punk, but the others being there made me feel I got my money's worth for the $80 ticket. And then I went to Money in the Bank; don't have to say a whole lot more about how awesome that way. And then Extreme Rules this year, which was cool to see the in-ring return of Brock Lesnar.

SO I guess I can actually understand why people get excited about all the part-timers on one card. It would be cool.

If you think SNS is a douche, you must not hang around people very often. His tone is transparent. You're the one taking him seriously.

It's not the same though. It's like saying we don't need to see Austin against Hogan because they had a five minute match in WCW in 1994, or that Mean Mark Calloway tussled with Sting one time late in the WCW 80s. Circumstances have changed a lot. These days The Rock is a massive Hollywood movie star, Brock Lesnar is a former UFC heavyweight champion, HHH is a man literally poised to take over the WWE and The Undertaker is a man who has one solitary match a year and always delivers.

It's not the names, it's the change in circumstances which have made these man still have their appeal and make them still a big draw in their own right.

I have him blocked, because he can't put two words together without being a giant douche to me. Except that one time he offered to buy me a wife. I think that was him. Might have have been GSB.

It was him. If I offered to buy you a wife, you would have a wife by now. My pimp-hand is that strong.

Now stop being such a frugal uptight jackass and buy some WM tickets.

And then block me as well.

Random fact of the day: I did not know that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper was a member of the Hart family. He's a cousin, but still...fun facts. I found out yesterday he actually lives in Hillsboro, Oregon. That's about 30 minutes away from me; hoping to get coffee with him in the next couple of weeks, and do some promotional stuff for the indy promotion he just restarted out here in Portland.
