Ok, I'm starting to get worried about SuperOrton.

Smartie

Broski of the Week #22
I just finished watching the first SD with new faces, overall good show, but something has happened which really frightens me.

Randy Orton.

He showed up, Rko'd bunch of people at the beginning, was in the main event and hit the RKO again and beat all the devil motherfuckers.

I know, I know it was his first night on SD and no one expected him to do anything but dominating, including me, but What If this tradition goes on and on?

If you remember, last year after he officially turned face, he dominated Raw like no one ever has. I mean he never lost a match on Raw during a whole year, with the exception of Miz cashing on him, after 734 other guys had already attacked him before. He even beat Cena cleanly in a tables match.

He literally went on top each and every Raw, but back then it wasn't such a big problem because he wasn't the main attraction of the show. However, now, he is the man on Smackdown.

What if they keep SuperOrton on SD too? I think it can ruin the show for lots of people. I know it would for me. SD is not so strong on heel department so what I'm basically afraid of is that he's gonna win WHC and then keep it for a long time and defeating his opponents each and every time on Fridays with an RKO. That's OK when it's an upper-midcard segment on Raw, but it's not gonna be when It's the main thing on SD.

So , Are you afraid too that SuperOrton is gonna continue on SD too?

Do you think that Randy is gonna be beatable while he is on SD?

Or Do you even mind if he hits an RKO all of a sudden every time and send fans home happy each and every week?

Am I afraid SuperOrton is going to continue on Smackdown? No. Orton is the best he's ever been in his career. You can't argue with the response he got at the beginning of tonight's show, the fans are psyched to see Randy in blue.

Will Randy be beatable on Smackdown? Of course, he's always beatable, you just rarely see it happen. I'm willing to bet that he'll lose a match or two within his first couple months on Smackdown.

Do I mind if he hits the RKO out of nowhere every week? Not really. I'm not a fan of it, but most people are, and that's okay with me. There are worse things than predictability. Look at Stone Cold, every time he shows up on television you KNOW he is going to hit the first asshole in site with a Stunner, but you don't see anyone complaining. Now, that's not to say that Orton is even close to being where Stone Cold is, but it's the same concept: people want to see Orton own his competition with his finishing move.

^ Have to go with JGlass on this. Considering the RKO pretty much is the new Stunner, (sorry, someone's got to say it) and Randy and Cena have needed to be on separate shows at all times now, I'm not bothered.

While the main event scene now feels a bit more active on SD, it's not quite as clogged as it was on Raw prior to the draft. As I said, I think Orton and Cena should be separated for the next five years. Let people forget they've ever encountered. Continue to build Orton up as face numero uno on SD specifically, and let Cena carry on as face number one on Raw. Then the eventual clash between the "super face" of each show will be epic and moneyed.

TBH, I've started buying into the whole "RKO outta nowhere!" thing, I quite look forward to seeing someone get owned by one move. It's quite amusing really, especially when you view wrestling with my satirical eyes. I know many people consider Randy Orton in terms of ability, probably "average at best" but, I don't know, I like his work.

Have you seen the new Smackdown opening? When Orton's eyes flash and become snake eyes? Freaking cool!

Caught the opening but not the main event.

I got the feeling by way of The Rated Rko and E&C Connection we will see Orton basically take Edge's place in whatever storyline they had planned. If thats NOT the plan well I would still like to see it. I loved the Team of Orton and Edge and I think the Team of Orton and Christian could really be cool with some nods toward Edge and what not.

But just based on the opening...I would say it was the obvious set up. Showing Drew was going to RAW and even though he got RKO'd he took charge and attacked Orton 1st. To me, Drew doesnt look as week he looks like he is ready to take charge.

When A-Rye came out well we have no idea what he was going to say or do...maybe he was going to try and kiss Orton's butt and be in Ortons corner like he is for Miz. Maybe he was going to go on a rant about how The Miz taught him a few things and he is ready to take charge. Either way, you now know that Alex Riley is on Smackdown.

and Del Rio ofcourse set up the tag...and the tag it self like Imentioned seem to be a match that Edge and Christian would of had.

 that thing was unbelievable, I loved it!!! They always do an awesome job in the openings!!

Now to the topic, i dont remember people talking about SuperEdge, but as far as i remember he didnt lost a straight match on SD!, i mean he has a loss against Justin Gabriel, but we all know who are Corre!
Randy Orton is one of the best wrestlers in the WWE, he is better almost 90% of the roster in terms of ring ability!
Just because Cena & Orton are icons (yes, I said it) that dont mean they should use suplexex (which they use), submission maneuvers (STFU) and fly all over the place! (Orton Diving Dropkick)
A good superstar is the one who lose? NO!
Is he beatable? Yes!
Should he be beaten in the next few months? NO!

Let him grow in the SD! Roster, have a feud with some stupid guy (Mark Henry), win and then put him in the World Tittle Picture!!

Just think, if the face of the show is beaten cleanly, what does that mean for the guy who just beat him? (Biggest push in the world)
We dont need to see Orton losing cleanly.

Edit: wow i just remembered, SuperSinCara!! He didnt lost a single match and he attacked Sheamus & Swagger! Now i'm starting to worry, he already has a win against a former WHC!
-.-'

Well there's no denying that Orton is now THE biggest star on Smackdown. So that might figure into the equation. There's just not alot of people that could be considered to be on the same level as Orton. I think until a few of the guys step up and prove themselves to be on the same level as Orton, he will come off as a poor-man's Cena.

As for the RKO, I think its a brilliant finisher. Like someone above me said, its the new Stunner. Its quick, simple, and visually devastating which are the qualities you should have in a finisher. I love the fact that he can pull it out in just about any position anytime anywhere. Also, consider this for a moment, when the RKO gets countered, doesnt it always make the other guy look that much better? Everytime CM Punk countered the RKO, didnt that make him look that much better?

Sure it will. Randy was brought to Smackdown specifically to replace Edge. It would have been interesting to see what path Randy's career would have taken had Edge not been forced to retire; in other words, would Orton have been moved to Smackdown even if Edge kept wrestling? Personally, I doubt it.

But yes, Randy Orton will suffer adversity and not be SuperOrton all the time. For one thing, no one does "frustration" like Randy. Every time you see him pounding the damn mat, you realize that you would never want him to be so invulnerable that he wouldn't get to throw his tantrums. They're fun to watch.

Randy has finally gotten a chance to be the top man of a brand. He'll wear the crown admirably.....but he'll take a lot of lumps along the way. Just like Cena. It keeps them human.....and less than super.

My main worry is his booking. I like Orton but the problem is that with Orton, many problems are annoyances. Look at the Nexus. They were fucking huge when feuding with Cena but they're getting owned week in and week out with Orton so that's my main concern. Though I'm excited who Orton will put over and Smackdown's gonna see a big number increase on Friday nights, Orton's overall selling of a feud is what gets me worried. Otherwise, he's fine.

We hear this same argument about each and every big-time star, guys more popular than Orton (Hogan, Warrior, Austin, Rock, HHH, Lesnar, Goldberg, Cena, etc.). It's really not a problem .... unless you dislike the guy who is dominating.

For the past four or so years, fans like myself had to watch Cena win nearly every match, running through all in his way. Did it bother me? Obviously, I'm not a fan of Cena's. So in all honesty, it's nice to sit back and watch someone I cheer for win all of his matches, seeing I had to deal with someone I didn't like winning all of his.

can go anyway. Now that hes on SD HES THE MAN!!! and he will keep dominating if u like it or not and probanly go for WHC next but i dont think he will be WHC anytime soon TBH.

First of all it's not SuperOrton, it's BatOrton :p. On to the topic at hand, no I'm not afraid of "SuperOrton" continuing on Smackdown because I'm a huge fan of his and love seeing him RKOing everyone in sight. Do I think Orton will be beatable while he's on Smackdown, of course I do everyone in the WWE is beatable Orton's no different. Orton will lose matches evey once and a while, just like every major face the WWE has ever had.

Big Nick Dudley has already pointed out that some of the biggest faces in the company's history have been booked to look "superhuman" so this isn't the first time you're seeing this and it certainly won't be the last.

Am I worried? NO,Orton has to be a babyface on SD to feel edge's place on the roster! his bound to win the gold soon,But dont be surprised if orton does a heel turn later this year or early next year becoz sooner rather than later the adults will start hating on orton like they hate cena (im a kid and i dont like babyfaces aswell) take it easy on me coz im new to this

I dont mind if we see him every smackdown which we probably will, i mean about 85% of the crowd loves him on average. Guys, kids, women, neary everyone, why not give him a bit more exposure. Now if he starts throwing stuff to the kids and runs to the ring full of energy, then we can worry about SuperOrton.
