Nomination Time!

WrestleZone.com's "official" Year-End Awards are here and it's time for you to suggest the rest of the categories and submit nominations for those categories. We have already come up with ten categories that will be included in this year's Year-End Awards and you, the visitors, get to decide the other three everyone will vote on!

Our esteemed panel of five will debate and determine the final "Five Nominees" in each category, with your help, in a Round Table Audio Feature that will be posted here and on the main WZ.com website. Then, once the nominees are in, we will post them for all of you to vote on and decide the winners in each category.

How To Submit Suggestions/Nominations

RIGHT HERE! Post all of your suggestions for the three extra categories here on the official WrestleZone.com forums. Also put any nominations (one or all five) here in this thread. We will take suggestions and nominations from here in the forums and from email to use as one collective vote. We will then have our panel come up with the final five nominees for each category that you, the fans, will be able to vote on.

Just so You Know The one that the mods came up with seems about right for the nominations in all of the categories. Why not just use them?

Because I didn't want to use that many for the official ones and I also wanted to have a panel of judges so to speak to come up with the nominees, along with the fans, to try and decide a pretty accurate list of categories and nominations.

That's the only reason really.

This last award is tosee what promotion that the pannel think has the best chance to "make it" in 2008 and improve themselves the best. Choices would probably be ones such as ROH,AAA,CMLL,etc.

I would have an Indy Wrestler of the Year anyway just because of the fact that the male Wrestlers of the Year are all going to come out the same and be from the big two. So that would excludeRing of Honor guys as well as other Indy Wrestlers.

Promotion of the Year as well just based on the fact that as I have explained in the other one that both WWE and TNA have either slowed momentum, Stagnated or gotten worse others have skyrocketed.

Worst Match of the Year is just a fun idea because there have been some stinkers from the fan point of view.

And does Most Likely To Succeed mean that it is rookie of the year? or would that be someone that will come out of Left Field to be a major player?

"Most Likely To Succeed" is either two of those you just mentioned. A rookie can be the most likely to succeed or a veteran can as well. Who do you think will be the most likely to succeed in 2008 - I do think it needs to be someone already in the two major feds as an indy star would be too hard to predict for a number of reasons. Although, there was a suggestion for an Indy Wrestler of the Year that might make sense to offset that.

- "Male Wrestler of the Year" - Shawn Michaels - you don't have to have championships to be the best. Without him, Raw's ratings dropped. He came back early from injury to offset Cena's injury and worked through the pain. When it comes to heart, there isn't anyone better.

- "Female Wrestler of the Year" - Candice Michelle - Improvement after improvement drove her straight to the top and if it weren't for the untimely injury, we might be talking about her as the women's champion and not Ms. Phoenix.

- "Worst Wrestler of the Year" - The Great Khali - This guy moves with the agility of a corpse at the speed of evolution, I'm sick of him being rammed down our throats as well.
HM: Umaga, Kevin Nash

- "Most Likely To Succeed" - This is a tough one, simply because what does it mean to succeed. I would say CM Punk but he's already a "World Champion." I'm going to go with Cody Rhodes here. He's still pretty green, but he's working his way up the path quickly and I expect him at some point to surpass his old man, especially with his in ring ability.

- "Tag Team of the Year" - Cade and Murdoch - They've been dominant this year, nuff said.
HM: Styles and Tomko, London and Kendrick

- "Match of the Year" - Royal Rumble 2007 - Amazing Rumble with Amazing finish, regardless of who went over.
HM: CM Punk vs. John Morrison - ECW Match one Tuesday night and Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe - Final Resolution 2007.

- "Pay Per View of the Year" - Wrestlemania - All Manias are excellent and this one was on fire from start to finish.
HM: Royal Rumble 2007, Turning Point, 2007

- "Most Overrated Wrestler of the Year" - John Cena. I'll give him the fact that he's ridiculously over, but the five moves that he can do well simply outdoes the infinite number he can't.
HM: The Great Khali, Umaga

- "Most Underrated Wrestler of the Year" - Samoa Joe - Does anyone else ever get the feeling that he's going to just leave TNA and get the biggest pop of all time in his WWE debut. This guy should be running the show in TNA and is getting crapped on by the WWE guys jumping ship. Now, while Booker T and Kurt Angle and Christian Cage are all excellent athletes, they have paid their dues within TNA.

- "Feud of the Year" - McMahon vs. the World - I don't know about any of you, but I love the world crapping on Mr. McMahon as it almost always makes a lackluster Raw somewhat watchable.

- Worst Match of the Year - Electrified Cage Match - That should go in Wrestlecrap, and I'm not joking.

- Wrestling News of the Year - WWE Wellness Crackdown had a more profound impact on the sport than much other news.
HM: Booker T jumping ship, All the Hogan mess - divorce, son crash, Hulk's meltdown.

- Should But Didn't of the Year - TNA SHOULD have put the World Championship on Samoa Joe and made him the staple of the company, but they didn't.
HM: Jeff Hardy SHOULD have had this push earlier in the year, to build up to some sort of EXTREMELY well-built payoff match at Mania.... but they didn't. Also, Vince McMahon SHOULD have turned the company over to Shane so that he can take it in a new direction.... but he didn't.

**********I intentionally left off the Chris Benoit tragedy as I think it just needs to be let go, but I could understand its nomination should news of the year be accepted as part of the awards.********

Well i cannot think of any wrestling stars to fit those categories off the top of my head other than the "MOST UNDERRATED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR"
and in my opinion i would have to say SENSHI/LOKI would b my pick right of way.If TNA owuld have gave him the proper push he would have ruled the X Division and gained the proper charisma to make him a "top quality" star.
I hope wherever he end up he gets the proper treatment to show off his skills and abilities.
