[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

It's just a day full of milestones.

Also, Black Swan was Aronofsky's best work yet, and he has already amassed a solid directing resume. There isn't a single movie of his that I don't love, though I still have to watch Pi. He's probably my favorite director right now. I hope he can make the next Wolverine movie something special.

Black Swan is actually one of my favourite films. I thought Aronofsky crafted a truly brilliant film. I'm backing it for all the awards it's up for at the Oscar's. Barbra Hershey was particularly creepy.

X, I think I have a problem. I bought three more DVDs today... that is like 18 in a week... the DVD 2 Watch pile is up to 41

I have a similar problem with all of the movies I have on my DVR that I never watch.

Clearly you need to take time off to get drunk and watch countless films.

Does Tyler Reks' finisher look anything like the Burning Hammer?

Sort of. I mean it is a Burning Hammer, but instead of slamming him down on his neck like Kobashi does, he slams them down on their chest like a regular slam out of the Burning Hammer position. See these two videos and compare and you'll see what I mean:

I think you're dead right Crock. Kenta's looks like it would be almost out of place in the WWE, as they won't even allow a piledriver.

The two house shows that I have seen Reks, I have been impressed by his intensity and he has actually done a very good job of making the crowd hate him without being shit.

Also Chris Masters had two pretty good wrestling matches with Reks and Swagger

Hey X, I just watched Do The Right Thing the other day. Have you seen it? If you have...
Why do you think Mookie threw the garbage can through the window? Do you think he was pissed off and wanted revenge, or do you think he was trying to protect Sal?

I'm not particularly high or low of Reks, he's pretty good in the ring but he has no personality thus far. They let him use a lot of high-impact moves they don't normally let others use though, so I picture a big push for the guy in the future. I was kind of down on him a few months back when he suddenly took Kaval's spot in the Bragging Rights tag team match and squashed him on Smackdown, pretty much burying Kaval then and there, but that wasn't really his fault after all that was booking's fault.

You know I'm not sure JGlass, I haven't seen the film in several years now, I'll have to re-watch it.

Yeah, I don't really see the point in allowing Reks to have such a hard hitting and different move set if they are not going to do anything with him.

Strangely, at those same house shows the most entertaining performances (aside from seeing Gabriel's 450) were from Kaval against Ziggler and Primo against Alex Riley

X, couple of questions for you. One's a wrestling related one, the others film/book related:

1: What are your thoughts on Del Rio in general?

2: I know you’re a fan of the film, but did you ever read the book Battle Royale? If so what are your thoughts on how well it was adapted?

Professor Cornel West is on Bill Maher tonight. I know you avoid watching that show no, but you gotta tune in for this guy, he's one of my favorite people to watch and he seems like a great dude.

Thanks JGlass I think I will tune in then, I know who West is and he's an incredibly entertaining and insightful speaker, should be fun.

After I'm done with some Angel/Buffy/finishing the 12/24 NOAH show.

X, since your're one of the movie buffs around here, what are your thoughts on The Last Samurai? I bought it for only 5 bucks.

You know I've actually never seen it. I bought it from the 5 dollar bin myself years ago and it's just one of many DVDs I have that I've never actually gotten around to seeing it. Always looked good though.

X!!!!!! go to my thread ****

What thread motherfucker?

I'm not Xfear but I'm pretty sure you respect my opinion regardless, so I thought I'd share that I absolutely adore this movie. I'm a huge fan of Tom Cruise, and this is my favorite movie thus far he's starred in. It's spectacular. I'm positive you're going to love it.

And what is hilarious is that the shots of Mt. Fuji are actually of Mt. Taranaki in New Zealand. There are some hilarious stories about contracts that people going onto set had to sign as well.

you heard the new Cudi album, brother? I was unaware it even existed, pretty fast turnaround for the next album. Bought it today, havent yet listened to it. One of the two rappers in existance whose album I would buy, lulz
