CZW has wrestling that doesn't involve ultraviolence, but it's bad; in fact I'm sure that a good chunk of material found on Botchamania comes from CZW.
They can occasionally have good matches though because of the indy talent they bring in to work actual wrestling matches instead of botch-mania deathmatches. I've seen some very good stuff out of guys like Chuck Taylor, Chris Hero, El Generico, etc in CZW. Outside of the indy guys they bring in though, yeah, CZW is fucking atrocious.
Speaking of hardcore matches, there aren't very many women that can consistently work the style and make it look good. Bull Nakano, Megumi Kudo, Aja Kong, and Lufisto are about the only ones I know.
I loved watching Lufisto beat the living shit out of Ian Rotten in a death match. Made me happy in the pants.
And yes, IWA Mid South is god awful; though, I have to give them some credit for producing some decent non hardcore stuff, and for jump starting the career of my favorite lady Rachel Summerlyn.
True, like CZW they do bring in some good indy workers sometimes, and of course they had the epic CM Punk-Chris Hero feud years back, which is by far the best thing to have ever come out of that terrible promotion.
Was the very song I was listening to while posting in this thread.
Great minds think alike.
I'm not to big on them since I've only heard a few songs of theirs, but they seem to be at least decent.
You should check out their "It's a Shame About Ray" album, one of the best of the 90s IMO. Here's a few songs from the album, the first video is actually from Lupos in Providence, a venue I've been to dozens of times.
And check out this acoustic version of the Misfits song "Skulls" that Dando did, tell me it doesn't make your musical penis erect:
Fuck YouTube needs alot more studio versions of Lemonheads songs, most of those are missing the sublime back-up vocals of Juliana Hatfield.
Yeah, cannot wait to see Evan and whoever his backing band is these days. It's going to be epic.
