[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

X, do you remember the night when we sat there and fucked with that guy in the "why doesnt WWE use more rap themes" thread for like 4 fucking hours ? :lmao:

I thought of that the other night and it made me chuckle

Haha nice, the thought of you sitting in the desert and chuckling over that makes me start chuckling as well. That was a fun one.

I'm about to go all apeshit over Kenny Powers in the "Worst Movie" thread for picking Halloween 3. I fucking adore Halloween 3. It has Tom Atkins. Tom Atkins is an automatic win, no matter fucking what. He will feel my wrath.

X, what are your thoughts on the Scream movies? I watched the original on Halloween and for some reason, just randomly thought about it. I know your thoughts on slasher flicks, and was wondering what yours were on this one. Personally I loved the first one, I've only seen the second and third probably once a piece. I also read they're coming out with a fourth, any thoughts?

If it counts for anything Byrnside, I liked the first 2 but the third one wasnt very good. One can only take so much of the same overused ghostface killer and im not talking about the fucking awesome rapper. I know im no X when it comes to movies but I get around.

The first is one of my favorite horror films without a doubt. When I was a kid and that movie came out, it was just the biggest fucking thing EVER. Literally every single Halloween for the next five years after that movie came out, you'd see the streets just filled with kids with Ghostface masks on. I must've seen the original a hundred times, and I still never get tired of it. Watching it is like going back to my childhood or seeing an old friend you haven't seen in awhile, I love every fucking second of it.

Scream 2 is another film that I've got alot of memories tied to as well, I remember playing for my little league team and my dad coming to tell me all the gorey details about the movie which he had seen the night before and how excited I was when I finally got to watch it. Not as good as the original obviously, but I really enjoy the second film as well. It's joined at the hip next to the first one for me. I'm still pissed they killed Randy though...

Scream 3 was different. It was the first in the franchise I saw in theaters (with my dad again) and I really liked it then, but over the years it's definitely become clear that it's the worst in the series. It's still head and shoulders above 99% of other slasher movies, but it just felt a bit forced at times. Good cast though.

As for the new film, I've been keeping tabs on it for years, and it's finally getting off the ground now. Arquette, Cox, and Neve Cambell are all signed on to the film, as is Craven and (I believe) Kevin Williamson, so I'm excited as hell. Unfortunately though it sounds like Campbell is only going to be in the film in a small role, the idea that they've been throwing around is just rebooting the whole franchise with this new film by finally killing off Sydney and moving onto a next era. Not sure how I feel about that.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the Scream series. How can you not?

I don't know why any horror fan wouldn't like it, at least the original. I agree whole heartedly, the original is it for me. By the time I was about 6 or 7, my older sister had forced me to watch all of the Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Halloween films. I got kind of burnt out I guess on horror for a few years, until that is, the release of Scream. It was probably my #1 favorite movie for about 3 or 4 years. The idea of two killers was just so unique, and I don't think anyone saw it coming. Of course, Craven is a master, but at the time I didn't realize who he was.

I hadn't watched it for several years, until a couple weeks ago [Halloween], but I forgot how awesome it was. When I was so into it, I used to get on AOL and IM my friends from an unknown screen name and act like I was a killer from Scream. Asking my friends what their favorite scary movies were. In retrospect that was probably a really stupid idea, but to this day I get off on scaring people. And I had some fun with that one. I always wanted to be ghost face for Halloween, but for the first years, I could never find the right mask for some reason, and I guess I just lost interest. Maybe next year? I think I'm gonna go back tonight and watch the 2nd and 3rd. I don't even really remember what the 3rd is about.

The 4th could be cool. I hadn't heard about Neve Campbell's small roll in it. What about Arquette and Cox, would they have small rolls too? Or did Deputy Doofus graduate to chief of police? I think if Wes Craven is on board, it should be pretty cool, and could introduce a whole new audience to the series.

Well the idea I've been hearing so far online is that Neve would only be in the film for a small role, but both Arquette and Cox would have starring roles in the film. Which is good, because you can't just throw an entirely new cast in and expect anyone to give a fuck about whether they live or die.

SavageTaker, if I lived in Orlando, I'd go to as many Magic games as I could, as I'm a big fan of D'Howard. I love basketball. I go to every Hawks game I can in ATL.

I'm going to one game. If I like it I might go to more. I'm not really like a huge fan of basketball (as a matter of fact, I've never liked seeing sports on TV) but I've had some friends say that it's fun even if you don't who most of the players are or if you're not really that big of a fan.

I'm still no sure which one to go to. I saw one with the Celtics but I'm not sure yet.

Ah, well I've been a fan of the NBA for a long time. But, it is fun to go with a bunch of friends, maybe have a few drinks if you're old enough [I would NEVER endorse under age drinking ] or so inclined, especially when it's a game that really matters. The more fans there are, the louder the place gets, and the more fun it is. Plus, basketball isn't tough to understand, and if it's a good game, it should be pretty fast paced. Fortunately for you, you have the arguably the most talented center, and maybe player, in the league in Dwight Howard, and one of the fastest teams in the league at your disposal. You should have fun. The Celtics game was probably rough. Was it this season or last? Obviously, if the Magic might've lost, it wouldn't have been as much fun.

Like I said, I've been a fan for years, I just have a huge respect for the sport, as it was the only sport I could play and was decent at. I kind of fell off for a few years because the league was lacking in stars. But now there's more than ever, so that makes it more entertaining. Last couple years I've gotten back into it because of my beloved Hawks.. They were terrible for about 10 years, until 2 years ago, they squeaked by thru the season and by the grace of God made it to the playoffs. They were huge underdogs and everyone thought they'd get swept by the Celtics. Low and behold they shocked the hell out of everyone and took the #1 team in the league to the 7th game of the series. They got eliminated, but it was way further than anyone thought they'd make it. Last year they were a little bit better and made it to the second round of the playoffs, and hopefully they'll do better this season. It's a hell of a lot more fun when you have a team to rally behind and maybe that's why I love it so much.

I wonder what kind of rules they will have to coincide with Scream 3. That would list it under franchise I believe and I have no idea to the rules that would be for it. Damn them for killing Randy!!!!!

Randy will always live forever in our hearts.

Is it weird that I really liked Skeet Ulrich in the first one? Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy made the first one for me though.

I liked Ulrich to but not nearly as much as Lillard and Kennedy. They were so good in their roles. I was seriously pissed when Lillard had that tv dropped on his face. Sad times in the INDYjon world.

So, watching Scream 2 now.. Awesome how many actors are in this that I didn't know when I was 14. Omar Epps, Jada Pinkett, Heather Grahm is in the movie Stab, Jerry O'Connel as Neve Campbell's boyfriend, Timothy Olyphant, haha classic. I'll edit with my review in about 90 mins. Quote of the movie: "Shit I should've brought my drink!" Spoken like a true college student, haha!

X you may blast me for saying this but I always sorta liked Scream 2 better then Scream. I dont really know why, probably because of the bad ass Eels song "Lucky day in Hell" but I have always had a softer spot for it then the original. Not that its a batter overall movie or anything.

I couldnt get it out of my head for damn near 2 years and everytime Scream 2 was AMC id tune it just to listen to it. Id always miss it by a couple of minutes.

I love Luke Wilson. To death. His brother is a hellluva screenwriter as well.

So funny, he was probably nothing at this point. So I've been watching this on YouTube, and some idiot posted a comment spoiling the ending. Unbelievable.
