[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

X...I just finished downloading District 9 and City of God from that website. It's way better than the one I used. I downloaded them at the same time and it was very quick.

Yeah, if you ever want any advice on torrents or P2P stuff feel free to PM me man. I think you'll enjoy both, especially City of God considering how much you liked Sin Nombre.

Anyways, I downloaded those 2 movies, which other ones do you recommend? I am looking to download either a comedy one or a suspense one.

Hmm, comedy or a suspense film. Ever seen Vertigo?

Fan of Depeche Mode as well? <3

Not sure if you enjoy older movies ST, or if you've ever seen a film by Alfred Hitchcock (Psycho, The Birds, etc), but he's one of the greatest directors of all time and the master of suspense films. You really can't go wrong with many of his films. Vertigo is probably my favorite by him though. Since it's October you couldn't go wrong with the original Psycho either if you've never seen it. Anthony Perkins delivers one of the creepiest performances in movie history.

Has anyone ever told you that you overplay your various roles rather severely, Mr. Kaplan?

Wait... wrong movie.

I'll be downloading that Pyscho movie, it seems pretty good.

I'm also going to look for Shaun of the Dead because I've never seen it and I'll try to download a horror movie. Any horror movie recommendations that aren't that old?

Sure am. I love their style of music.

Did you see my earlier post about TV Tropes?

I did, and spaced out. Sorry 'bout that. So what, it's just like a review site or something?

Depeche Mode are epic. Beyond epic. Any favorite songs?

Am I wrong for not enjoying or being even mildly suspensed (:suspic:) by The Birds?

No, The Birds isn't one of his best works IMO. I still thought it was great though. He has much better films.

What kind of horror movie? Weird, psychological, gorey and ultraviolent, zombies, ghosts, slasher?

It's a site where they have the conventions, archetypes, symbols and much more used in pretty much every media ever. It's all done with examples and fun. Once you get into it, it's pretty much impossible to get out of. Just try searching for your favorite series' and go from there. Or click Random Item. That's always fun.

I don't have any particular favorite Depeche Mode songs, but I just watched the video for "Wrong". Song and video were both pretty creepy yet awesome. According to Wikipedia, the video is a reference to the movie Surveillance, which wasn't a very good movie, apparently.

Who said Surveillance wasn't a good film? It's actually pretty damn good, it's directed by Jennifer Lynch, David's daughter. Tell me you know who David Lynch is dear Doc...

Download yourself a copy of the Depeche Mode albums "Music For the Masses" and "Violator". Those are their two best albums, and they totally blew me away back when I was 13, and still do to this day.

Rotten Tomatoes. I've never seen it so I wouldn't know.

Don't worry, I know who he is. He did Mulholland Drive and a load of other films. I'm not COMPLETELY uninformed.

Will do, but I'll probably do it tomorrow. Right now I'm working on a thread for the Videogames section and listening to music from the game I'm making the topic about. Thanks for the recommendation, though. I appreciate it.

Hmm...I'm not really sure. I just want something that will scare the shit out of me.

Since you like Spanish films so much, I'd recommend watching the movie [Rec], it came out very recently so it shouldn't be difficult to find a good torrent for it. Great, GREAT horror film, one of the best I've seen in a very long time, and one that will likely scare the shit out of you ST. It's awesome. They just released a sequel too, I'm going to have to get my hands on that.

I'm downloading it right now, I read a little of what it says on Wiki and it seems pretty good and if I like it I'll download the sequel. It also says (on Wiki) that it was announced on September 16 that there would be a Rec 3 coming out.

C2?
Nothing, just what I said to you yesterday, talked to her, hugged me & gave me a kiss on the lips & she wants to go eat tommorrow.

:disappointed:

Speaking of Spanish films...Pan's Labyrinth by Guillermo Del Toro. It's not a horror movie as much as it is insanely in depth and completely symbolic in many ways. I was going to make a Movie section thread on it, but realized that I couldn't even begin to piece all of my thoughts together into a coherent post. I'll probably try that later.

What a coincidence, I Just watched Pan's Labyrinth yesterday! Marvelous film.

Wild Strawberries is one of the greatest films ever, I'm still debating whether or not it's better than the Seventh Seal though.

Pats-Ravens in about half an hour...should be good.

I downloaded Music For The Masses. Absolutely love it. Thanks.

And your new custom title is win.

Haha, yeah, isn't it Doc? I was typing up their name and forgot the E and I was like...GOLD! Pure gold! Had to use it.

Make sure to download Violator too, that's a masterpiece. Music For the Masses is probably my favorite Depeche Mode album though, "Strangelove", "Never Let Me Down Again", and "The Things You Said" are three of their very best songs.

Really, you can't go wrong with any of their 80s work up the early 90s. That was their heyday. Glad you're digging Depeche Mode, if you like them, you'll probably really dig New Order too.
