Yeah. My friend just texted me and said he bought me a copy of 'The Rise and Fall of WCW.' I'm pumped to watch it, even though i'm pretty sure it'll be a WWE-SlanderFest. Worth a try though.
Well X, I probably won't be on during the Battle of the Sox in Boston tonight. I have to work tonight. So I'll probably stop on real quick, give you a quip about either being a ****e or basking in taking one game.
I just checked out the Punk-Hardy match. Fucking stellar. I'm not a big advocate for a single TLC match, personally I'd rather have it be a tag team match. But hot damn Punk and Jeff turned my thought process a little bit. One hell of a match in my opinion. I knew Jeff and Punk would put on a hell of a show, and like I said, not an advocate for a singles TLC match, but they shattered my expectations. They have/had some great chemistry in the ring. Just imagine if Jeff was staying. Punk could be the Joker to Jeff's Batman, or something like that. Straight Edge vs. Drugs. I know their program has been awesome, but imagine like a good 6-12 month feud between them. I also love that JR sort of mentioned Punk's ROH days when he called him a Second City Saint.
I didn't really like Taker appearing in the ring and giving him the old Chokeslam, I understand it, but I didn't like it. I would have preferred the Deadman showing up on the stage and giving Punk the look of you're fucked, so that Punk could celebrate the win, but still be worried about the future. Just my thoughts on the ending.

Yeah it was fucking STELLAR wasn't it? Watching it live was quite the rush, I haven't been that excited watching a wrestling match in ages. Like fucking YEARS. I was marking out like I was 10 again when Punk won, and I even marked out for the Undertaker. I had a great fuckin' time watching that main event.
Yeah I wish they would have let Punk celebrate a bit longer, but I thought Taker's return was very well done. The whole replacing-Jeff spot was very creative and I for one was completely shocked by it (how often does that happen anymore?), loved it for that.

Don't get me wrong, it was extremely cool that Taker was in the ring, and I am surprised they did go that route a little bit, switching face for face. Just a little more Punk standing would have sufficed for me.

Yeah, it was hardly among the greatest spots of all time, but that ladder looked to be even larger than their normal "big" ladders, and it's rare they do a spot like that onto the announcers table these days, so I LOVED that spot, very well done and for a moment I actually thought Hardy might be injured. Than I realized they wouldn't have the camera focused on him if he really were. Still, it was nice marking out for a few seconds.
That match has officially convinced me that Punk is going to be a damn legend in this business. He's always been an amazing, amazing wrestler, but the last few weeks/months he's really proven that he's the cream of the crop in the WWE right now. Nothing excites me more than Punk right now, I'm actually REALLY looking forward to a WWE show (Smackdown) for the first time in a long ass time. Can't wait to see where they take this storyline (though I had a bit of it spoiled for me already by some spoiler-posting douche in the wrestling sections).

I agree completely. I feel that he is given a bit of undeserved shit on here, at least he was not too long ago about his matches. But I suppose everyone gets it. He was given the right startup program for his heel turn. What better to accentuate his Straight Edge gimmick against a known drug user? Lol, yeah man. There is this one girl that lives like an hour and a half away from me, but she totally wants me. Once I get my car I do plan on making a visit by her, because she is crazy. What makes one film art and not another? They are all someone's creative vision. They are all an expression of one's interpretations of events and emotions. Just because Transformers has a huge budget and Michael bay doesn't mean it's not art in some fashion.
I'm sorry, most of the "great" films bore the shit out of me. Most "art" films focus on settings and colors. I prefer characters and plot to beautiful backgrounds and props.
