[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

As for the power plant, they told this muscle head he had no future in wrestling.

His name was Dave Batista.

Which is rather ironic considering the talentless muscleheads the Power Plant was known for producing. You'd think Batista would have fit right in. I guess his in-ring skills were so bad even then that not even the freakin' Power Plant would take him in. Pretty funny.

Yeah the Plant sucked, massively, as I've been saying. So many terrible wrestling schools in the states during that time, yikes, thank God for the CHIKARA ad ROH schools coming along and actually teaching a generation of young wrestlers how to properly wrestle.

Yeah no complaints about OVW at all, especially during the times they had Cornette running the place, they had a really good independent product at one point. Also can't forget about the Texas Wrestling Academy, where HBK briefly trained studs like Danielson, Kendrick, London, and Hernandez. Rudy Boy Gonzalez deserves alot of credit there too though. Great little school there.

But then of course we have things like the fuckin' Zandig School of Wrestling. Which is literally the most ironic title a human being could create considering he never had a fucking shred of any wrestling talent whatsoever in any way, or really even know how to wrestle. And doesn't Team 3D have a school these days? Can't imagine those two would produce very good wrestlers, their trainer in Johnny Rodz sure as fuck didn't.

Yeah true. OVW TV was freaking awesome for a long time. Punk vs. Albright was one of the best booked feuds I can ever remember. The whole CZW thing is awful too. Rodz was awful in the ring and I can't imagine his guys are much better.

I'd say go just because I'd imagine wrestling shows are hard to come by in Europe. Who's going to be there?

No idea. The flyer I have seen focuses far more on the talent that used to be in IWW, like Sheamus and Drew McIntyre and others who have made one night appearances like AJ, Douglas Williams, Wade Barrett and Nigel McGuinness, rather than putting any names to those who will actually be there

Always good to support the indy scene though.

God dayum WWE Classics has some great shit on today, Backlund vs. Hansen in a cage? Yes please. Christ Vince Sr. must've booked Hansen in like 30,000 cage matches in MSG, I've seen like twelve cage matches now with him in MSG playing the heel against the big babyface, be it Backlund or Sammartino. Never realized how much WWF work he was getting in the late 70s, early 80s.

Patterson-Patera? Sounds good as well. Patera used to be fuckin' awesome before he went to jail.

Can't forget about Harley Race and Dory Funks schools. And Johnny Rodz trained Tazz, he was purrty good.

OVW is passable too. It's an old school style but the guys they put out have talent.

Is Nick Dinsmore supposed to be a good trainer?

Nick Disnmore is actually a fantastic wrestler and was the OVW champion for many months during his younger days. Good trainer.

And I wouldn't credit Johnny Rodz with Taz being so awesome, he learned his shit in the shoot-fighting dojos in Japan and in sambo and Pancrase.

He's a ten time OVW Champion and 9 time tag champion I think. He can wrestle damn well. He more or less was a Benoit clone when I started watching about 7 years ago.

Catching up on some ROH shows today. Watching "Pick Your Poison" with a Tyler Black-Kenny King main event from 4/23 of this year, okay show thus far, though I'm baffled as to why the fuck I am seeing the fucking Metal Master in ROH.

Yeah, great wrestler but I had no fucking clue he was working back in the states, let alone for ROH again. Wonder why they had him debut uder the mask and not use his real name as he wrestled for ROH for several years during their beginning days and has some pretty great matches. Just seemed a really, really odd thing to do.

That show was the night before the Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies show CH David and I went to. Metal Master was good, but I had no idea who the fuck it was. He had a pretty good match against Eddie Edwards and I ended up going on Wikipedia to find who it was.

Once I finish with Pick Your Poison I've got Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies lined up to watch next, trying to catch up on all the ROH shows I've missed this year, I'll definitely let you know what I thought of the show you guys went to.

Oh and thank you Shaquille O'Neal for giving me hope for this season. Welcome to Boston dude.

Shaq...is going to the Celtics?

So. Xfear. Give me a run-down of what's been going on with you. We haven't spoken in quite some time.

I would but it would be unbelievably depressing and consist mostly of me whining about how I hate myself and about the decades of pent up rage inside of me that I push down every day. Wouldn't want to depress you.

Have any good incredibly bleak, nihilistic music to recommend?

Sorry man. I stay away from depressing music nowadays. If I don't, I'll find myself at the bottom of another bottle. Gotta do anything I can to stay happy. Which mostly involves me channeling my shitty feelings into pages of stories. And immersing myself in community service/school.

If you wanna cry, I think Linkin Park put out a new album some time Tuesday. Maybe it'll be just shitty enough to get you crying that pain away.

I suppose it doesn't help matters that I've been listening to nothing but depressing music lately. Yeah, it's strange how things go. Like sometimes I just feel like screaming. Just ripping my hair out and just scream and scream and scream and maybe someone will hear me and extend a hand to help. I should find someway to channel this anger. Maybe I'll start writing poetry again, that used to be my obsession when I was a teenager. Thinking about starting a band or something, I've just got all these thoughts and rhythms and lyrics floating around my head all day long, I feel like if I just can learn the technical side of things (playing a guitar, singing in melody) I could really reach a few people.

Also contemplating a lucrative career in the field of recreational arson.

How would you like to join my band Razor?! We'll play nothing but covers of 50s doo wop songs sped up into thrash metal and we'll all have long hair and call ourselves the Spastic Cancer Victims. We'll only play children's shows and retirement homes, and all of our amps will only go to 11. You in?

Hell yes I'm in. There was never any question.

Caveat: I'm not a very good poet. I'm a novelist for a reason. I can throw some poems-turned-lyrics at ya, but they'd probably all be shit. You'll have to sift through them yourself.

I like old Linkin Park, new Linkin Park is pretty meh.

The show was awesome, X. Great Tag Wars matches and Steen/Black main event was excellent

I wish I could make a real connection with another person
But instead I have cable

There's my latest poem. Work of art I'd say.

Now some music:

From Nine Inch Nails to pop perfection:
