[Official] X Marks the Spot: Xfearbefore Xclusive Thread

Not that I can recall man.

But really, why the hell do you need ladder match experience to win one? It's not like it's an acquired skill to climb a freakin' ladder.

I know that, but as much as I want to, I can't put Liger over RVD in a MITB match. Jericho maybe, but not RVD. Can you have any good Misawa matches I can watch? I know he's the right choice there, but I'd really like to watch before I vote.

Go to YouTube, type in "Misawa vs. Kobashi", pick one of their dozens of classic encounters. Really can't go wrong with any of 'em. Or any match Misawa had with Toshiaki Kawada in the 90s.

Also, check out his match with Jumbo Tsuruta from 1989. That was his first big break, when he finally broke into the main event scene and everyone knew he was going to be the next big star in Japan. Their first match is better than their September rematch.

Awesome. I'll check one out tomorrow. Thanks X

Of course bro, I was quite excited when they won. AWESOME game, missed most of the 2nd half though. 'Twas worth it though.

Awesome, man. Glad to hear you had such a good weekend.

Congrats dude, bout time NO won something.

Next year they'll win another one, after beating New England in the Super Bowl. :icon_wink:

It just pisses me off when I look at the voting and just immediately know why people like FTS and Lee voted for Edge; and that's purely to fucking spite people like you and me who actually care about having the better man win. They couldn't name a god damn Misawa match off the top of their head if I had a Triple Crown comp playing on repeat all around them.

Well, to give FTS the benefit of the doubt, I think his favorite wrestler is Edge, so his vote is justified to a certain extent. Lee... not so sure about, but I don't think he's ever jumped down Puro fans throats like others here. I know TM only voted for Edge because he's Canadian. And of course pretty much everyone else who voted are nobodies who saw something with a poll that said Edge vs. Misawa, didn't read anything else, and just voted for Edge.

FINAAALLLLYY got around to watching the Wrestle Kingdom show from 1/4. Thank christ Tiger Mask IV isn't champion anymore. Pretty awesome show, fuckin' Terry Funk wrestled! The man must be like 80 and he's still wrestling, I love that fuck. You should try seeking the show out man, good stuff.

Will do, man, will do.

Also, I'd like to recommend the movie Joint Security Area to you. Easily the most touching movie I've seen in a long time. I think you'd really enjoy it, if you haven't seen it yet.

That's a Park Chan-Wook film, right? I've actually only seen Oldboy, haven't seen any of his other films. I really haven't been watching many films lately, last movie I saw in theaters was Avatar and the last movie I watched in general was Go a few weeks ago during a trip. Been catching up on all the wrestling DVDs I haven't even touched yet.

X, I posted this in the Bullshit thread, but if you wanna go see a movie, The Book of Eli was excellent. I went and saw it the other night and loved it

Yes. It ranks up there with Oldboy as his best film, IMO.

Outside of Thirst (which I will watch soon enough, even though Tdigs' picky ass didn't like it), I've seen all his other films, and those two thus far are his masterpieces. And I think you'll end up agreeing with me in calling JSA a masterpiece.

Go with Katie Holmes, or another version? I fucking adore the Katie Holmes movie. As it said on the cover... it's like Pulp Fiction's little sister.

I'll definitely have to check it out then.

Yep, the Katie Holmes Doug Liman-directed one. LOVE that movie as well, though I only seem to watch it every time I'm tripping. Haven't seen it in a few years so it was great to watch it again, I really picked up on a lot of subtle things I never noticed before. I hadn't seen the film in years and it wasn't until this viewing that I truly understood why the film is called "Go", as the film's completely about our generation who wants instant pleasure and satisfaction now without caring about the consequences of their actions.

Yeah, love that movie. Awesome soundtrack too. Plus it has James Duval, who I love. Have you ever seen Nowhere?

Have you ever seen Nowhere?

The one with Christina Applegate, right? I sought that one out a few months back (I wanted to see it after hearing the director was the guy who did Mysterious Skin), but it never got a DVD release. Then it came on IFC a couple of times, but I don't have a Tivo and my VCR is fucked so I couldn't record it. But that's definitely a film I've been trying to catch for quite sometime. It looks awesome.

Go is a very good film. It is underrated in every way imaginable.

Yep, that's the one, though Applegate only has a minor role, it's mainly an ensemble film but the focus is on James Duval and Rachel True. It's definitely an "out-there" kind of movie, are you into surrealism JMT? Like Bunuel, Fellini, Lynch?

Anyways, yeah, great little film that almost had a sense of Bret Easton Ellis to it.

Definitely. The film is far deeper and more complex than even I had originally given it credit for. What the hell ever happened to Doug Liman?

Here's the thing about Go that bothers me. I never understood why Katie Holmes wound up with Timothy Olyphant. How did that happen?

But that movie certainly had deep characters. All of their issues crashed down on them, and the only person who made it out OK was the one who didn't try to do or sell drugs.

Well it's not so much that it's their drug use that's what damns them as it is the actions they perform in the name of instant satisfaction. Sarah Polley's character ripped off Olyphant and a bunch of other ravers and got hit by a car, their friend Mannie ate too much of the ecstasy by just grabbing them and eating them without asking at all and ODed, Simon got caught up in the strip club and was too horny to keep his hands to himself and ended up having strip bar mobsters try to kill him. The only person who didn't fuck themselves karmically (is that a word? It is now) was Katie Holmes character, she was the sole voice of reason through out the night and if you notice she's in every single one of the different stories in the film, she's the constant through out. Which makes her even hotter.

But yeah, great film.

Holy fuck Katie Holmes was so hot back then. Remember Disturbing Behavior? A: Fucking awesome movie, B: Holy fucking christ she was so hot.

It's hit or miss. Muholland Drive is one of my all time favorite movies, while something like Donnie Darko I couldn't get into.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You actually liked Disturbing Behavior? Katie's hotness and Nick Stahl's performance (criminally underrated actor) were the only things that made it watchable.

But yes... I fucking love Katie Holmes. She is by far and away my biggest crush ever involving a celebrity. She might not be all that today, but during the Dawson's Creek era she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, bar none.

Die in a fire JMT, Disturbing Behavior was B-Movie spectacular fantastico. I love Nick Stahl, think he's fuckin' brilliant, and I always liked Marsden and Holmes. Throw in a sci-fi/horror kick, an awesome soundtrack, and a Slaughterhouse-Five quoting chainsmoking janitor, how the fuck could you NOT like that movie?

Granted, not exactly an artistic statement or anything, but that movie is just F-U-N.

Will is one thing, he likely knows he's wrong, and he's gay for Edge so I guess it's okay, but everyone else who voted Edge over Misawa should consider themselves either an asshole, a moron, a troll, or a combination of those things.

In all fairness, I'm pretty gay for Edge too.

Straight up, I just mind-fucked you for posting that song FTS. I absolutely love that song, have since I first heard it from that movie and still do this day. That was just a one-hit-wonder bit of absolute fuckin' brilliance.

One of my 25 favorite songs. One of the first few times I had sex, I remember that song playing.
