...The best rap song ever made? No way. Not even remotely close.

Better than anything to ever come from New York.

Rap is just like the Yankees, Mets, Jets, and Knicks. If it comes from New York it gets artificial inflated importance that it doesn't deserve. Nas is the best out there, then Jay-Z. Biggie= OVERRATED!!!!!

Ehhh sorry fts, but Z-Ro ain't better than Pac. Oh and since we on this little kick here.

Midwest > All of Hip hop.

See what I mean guys?

What do you mean? that you know nothing about rap? Pac and Biggie both got a lot more hype than they deserved because they were from New York and LA, and everything from those cities gets treated like it's more important than it is.

The Knicks get on national TV more than the Trailblazers. Do they deserve that?

Oh come the fuck on, Z-Ro bettter than Tupac? That's fucking RIDICULOUS. Z-Ro isn't even in Pac's league man.

I'm sorry dude, but there are limited Pac songs I like, and I like every Z-Ro song. It's all jsut opinion though. Z-Ro just took everything Pac did and made it better.

And I'm sorry X, but the East Coast is trash today. Sure, you have legends like Nas (who is also my all time favorite rapper and who I consider to be the greatest of all time, for the record), Rakim, KRS-On, Biggie, and a couple of others in your corner, but today's generation is like I said: Trash. Dip-set and Rockafella, all that shit is pure garbage, man. Sorry, but it is.

See I know you don't know about the Boston scene than man. Ever heard 7L and Esoteric? There's PLENTY of good East Coast rap still, but it's ALL underground. Shit like Dipset and Rockafella is in fact pure fucking garbage, the underground is where to go man. Boston and Philly have great fuckin' scenes. AOTP, Jedi Mind Tricks? East coast still has good shit.

East Coast will always be the best in my book. Nas, Rakim, KRS, Biggie, Wu-Tang, Tribe, AZ, Paris, Brand Nubian, Big Daddy Kane, shit man this is where hip hop STARTED motherfucker!

Ty, you don't put up with the Z-Ro fanboys like I do. My cousin in Houston is one of them, and so are a lot of his friends... they all swear Z-Ro is the greatest of all time, and to me... that makes him overrated. He's not even the greatest in his city, in my opinion. Is he good? Yes, very, but Jesus Christ his fans make him out to be 2Pac, Notorious BIG, Nas, and Eminem all put together.

Then who do you like? Please tell me it's some club bullshit.

I'm the one who knows nothing about rap, yet 99.8% of the hip-hop community would completely disagree with the shit you're spewing out in this thread. Irony at its best.

Yeah, George Mikan was there when the NBA started, but he couldn't hang in today's game.

I never liked KRS-One, Tribe, Brand Nubian, or Big Daddy Kane. Nas is tight as hell and you will never hear a bad word from me about him. Rakim was tight in his day, but rap is so much better now. I like the violence and drug references mixed in with the talk about the struggle. 80's New York rap was always jsut too preachy for me. That's why I jammed the Geto Boys from the first chance I got.

Jay-Z? One of the best ever? Now I know you're smoking some crazy shit FTS, Jay is as overrated as they fuckin' come.

Nas, Rakim, KRS, Wu-Tang, Tribe > Any Z-Ro Song or Album Ever

You're fighting a losing battle.

Meh Midwest is where I'm from, it what I rep, and it's the music I bump on a daily basis, we got the fastest, and we got the best underground rappers out there.

Edit: Double post.

99.8% of the hip hop community disagrees on everything, and the shit they do agree on usually winds up sucking. Kanye...sucks Souljah Boy...sucks but these guys sell records. That shit gives me a headache. Kanye just annoys the shit out of me.

See now I know you're talking crazy shit here FTS. You like violence and drug references? Kay, where do you think gangsta rap fuckin' STARTED? New York City, by a man by a few guys by the name of KRS-One, Scott La Rock, and D-Nice with the album Criminal Minded. They STARTED gangsta rap. The difference is that KRS could rap the gangsta shit, and then turn around and educate you about apartheid in the same verse. Which is partly why he's one of the greatest MC's to ever live.

Oh and I fuckin' love the Geto Boys too man, I'd consider "My Mind's Playing Tricks On Me" to probably be the greatest rap song ever made.

Fast never impressed me either. Twista can give me all the workrate he wants, but he says bullshit.

Bone is fast and they keep it tight though.

I like rap that gets me going. Midwest rap, for the most part confuses me, East Coast rap bores me, West Coast Rap annoys me. Down South, the speed, beats and rhymes are the perfect mix.

Give me a Z-ro, SLAB, TI, Luda mixtape and I'll be cool on a deserted island.

Gotta disagree. Lil Keke took his Southside beat and destroyed it in a way KRS never could.

Yeah, that could work.

What can't keep up with the flow of the Midwest? Twista is kind of a sell out, I'm a fan of his older shit but nowadays he's shit. As far as getting confused, I don't have any issues keeping up with them. East Coast rap is ight, I like RZA, the Wu Tang Clan in general, Nas, and DMX. The West Coast, well it's the West Coast, I got much love for the West Coast. And you already know the South is my 2nd favorite hip hop region Fts. I bump a ton of H Town rap. Shit, Cham is playing on the system right now.

Gotta disagree. Lil Keke took his Southside beat and destroyed it in a way KRS never could.

That's such bullshit it's actually making me laugh. You know anything about the Bridge Wars?

I love Southern rap too FTS, but to say it's better than East Coast...it's just wrong. Simply wrong. Just my opinion though. When you start saying bullshit like Lil fuckin Keke is better than KRS-One though, thats when I have to laugh.

Yeah see, I don't know any of those guys. When I think of Philly's rap scene, I think of pieces of shit like Cassidy and Freeway. But it's hard to be where I'm from and follow the Underground stuff there. Unless it's battle guys like Arsenal, Serius Jones, and Iron Solomon, I don't know much about the Underground East Coast rap scene.

East Coast will always be the best in my book. Nas, Rakim, KRS, Biggie, Wu-Tang, Tribe, AZ, Paris, Brand Nubian, Big Daddy Kane, shit man this is where hip hop STARTED motherfucker!

All great, which does make East Coast technically the greatest rap scene of all time, but I don't think today's generation can match what the South and Mid-West has to offer to the game. Not only do we have tremendous Underground motherfuckers just like the East Coast, but we got legitimate, great mainstream rappers as well, something the East Coast and the West Coast cannot claim right now.

Then who do you like? Please tell me it's some club bullshit.

Nas, Chamillionaire, Eminem, Nussie, Juvenile, Mystikal, and 2Pac are my favorite rappers of all time, and all blow Z-Ro's shit out of the fucking water.

It's not that I can't keep up, most of the time I don't want to.

To tell you the truth, I haven't really liked Cham for a while either, but I haven't sought any out either.

JMT...really....Mystical better than Z-Ro? Really? And I have no idea what a Nussie is, so I won't comment. Everything else, fine, it's an opinion, and one I find offensive, but it's yours and I'll respect that.

Honestly I'd rate Bun B just slightly above Z-Ro, ain't nothin against Z-Ro, I just prefer Bun B and UGK in general over a lot of southern rappers.
