[Official] Unforgiven 2007 Thread

lame....fucking lame

cena having the title for a year and wwe shoving him down wwe fans' throats. batista winning the title again and wwe shoving him down out throats again. whether champs or not, batista and cena have always fought for the top titles, and its such bullshit that they dont give any other wreslters a chance and have these guys fight over and over again just for the kids.

its been about a year since i stopped watching wrestling full and it will continue..

And as much as I see people's points about Batista always having the title-who on Smackdown would we really want to have the title? Because if Rey won, yes, that would be excellent-he is an amazing athlete and wrestler but we all know who he is going to fight-Batista-because do we really want Khali to have the title? I know I personally dont because you can't do anything with him in a match and he can't really do all that much anyway-and right now, who on Smackdown has championship potential? Edge but obviously out with injury-the only other person I see is Kane, but again, don't see WWE giving him a chance because he's been overlooked throughout the years, even when he was in his prime-now that the Undertaker is back he will probably get a title shot, win, and again, who will he fight-Batista-so basically I think we will have to keep putting up with Batista as champion until some new talent comes to Smackdown

what an awful PPV, the Cena/Orton match was complete shit, not even a good build just crap. i do have to say thanks to the creative team for finally prying the belt away from the Non Wrestling piece of crap Kahli so i can finally start watching SMACKDOWN again, but the match was awful, in fact most of the matches were complete crap. what an awful PPV, the WWE is falling fast and it just seems to get worse month after month.

Well Cena and Orton have found a way to continue the feud that nobody really saw coming. Orton finally dealt with the backlash. And in a rare event for WWE, we know the next PPVs main event. As for the World Title bout, it sounds decent. I think Rey was in that match to give it star power and that is about it. Plus WWE made everybody believe Rey was about to win till the end.

Finally though, The Undertaker returning was what it was all about. Undertaker can wrestle but he had to wrestle that moron. Believe it or not, Undertaker can put over anybody...except Mark Henry. Why keep this guy around? All he does is pretend he is a gorilla.

I just want to know why the World Heavyweight Title has taken a backseat to the WWE Championship over the years, it seemed a couple of years ago that they would both rotate as far as the main event goes but it now seems the the WHT has dropped down to about midcard on these joint paperviews. Anyone else think that they also seem to phasing out the brand ppvs it seems like the last three or four have been joint and also when Unforgiven started the said that "WWE presents Unforgiven" rather than "Raw, Smackdown and ECW present Unforgiven"

I know what you mean, i live in the UK and i watch em at 1 in the morning and i know a good ppv when i see one because i dont fall asleep in the middle! If its a good one i can watch it till the end no problem but this one i was drifting off and waking up.

I watched this PPV for free in a website last night, it was a nice live feed. However, although I watched it for free, I felt very dissapointed with the PPV overall.

The tag team matches were decent but not great. 3/5

I really liked and enjoyed the World Heavyweight Title match, I think it was a very good Triple threat match, and the right wrestler won. Something that I found interesting is that I really thought Khali was going to retain, so the surprise factor was a plus. And FINALLY the belt is taken out from that Non-wrestling Giant, hopefully He is taken off TV as well, He sucks. And I forsee Batista vs. Undertaker III coming soon :) , and I loved both of their previous two matches, I can finally start watching Smackdown again. 4/5 :headbanger:

The WWE title match, was the biggest dissapointment of the year. I watched it for free and I felt I got ripped off. I'm very upset at WWE for this, since many people really bought this PPV thinking Cena would finally lose that belt to Orton in an excellent match even better than Summerslam's. But what it happened was exactly the opposite. Cena retained in probably his worst match, and make a mockery of Orton. And the DQ'd finished was terribly executed :banghead: . 1/5

However what it pissed me off the most was the booking. It totally sucked. I think Undertaker's match was OK for what it was, but to book the title change at mid-card, before the crappy WWE title match :eek2: , it was ******ed. It would've looked so much better it they would've finished the match with a title change. This plus so many other booking errors took the fun of the whole PPV, so as far as booking 0/5.

Overall the entire PPV, as bad as it was, with the right booking I could've given it a 3/5. However because of the booking and everything else that sucked I give it a 2/5. Dissapointed!

OK i see ur point with the booking and all. But how obvious would that be World Title on last. title change but Batista not Mysterio winning. Yea last four bouts should have been HHH vs Carlito, WWE Title: Should have been next: a brawl ala Taker vs. Lesnar at Unforgiven 2002. Cena just destroys Orton maybe FU'ing him off the stage after the match is thrown out cuz they wont listen to the refs. Better finish and added shock value. NO contest would have been better than a DQ finish. I know half of u agree. Then Taker vs. Henry and Last Batista winning the world title. PPV would have been alot better. But thats the WWE for ya right. Sting vs. Angle bound for glory anyone....

Dude that ppv was pretty bad. ive seen worse recently but man i could not help but drift back to a time when title matches at ppv's actually ended with a pinfall or submission. Man, the good old days huh. the triple threat was better than i thought it would be. khali sucks and rey just came back so i think the right guy won. i know people hate on batista but someones gotta have the title. he does what powerhouses do, slam people and hype the crowd. man, hes way better then taker and henry combined. that match was pathetic. and who the hell decided to put that as the main event?!! terrible, slow, all out boring match. matt hardy and mvp's angle is probably the best story theyve got running now in my opinion, just because the orton cena angle is so done. enough already! candice and beth put on a really sound match. ive read these replys and no one seems to really be talkin bout it so i will. the match was a good pace and basically mistake free. candice haters can go somewhere. she carried her own weight. i know its not just me - carlito should be demoted to heat man. good concept for a match, ruined by a hack of a wrestler like carlito and H is left to pick up the pieces and carry the match. C- ppv, not much to brag about. Where the hell is Jeff's match dude????

Maybe it was the Crystal Meth but I actually enjoyed this PPV. Not sure about the order of the matches or some of the results but I thought it was a decent card. Although none of it was memorable.

Punk vs. Burk: Now why the fuck was this the first match of the night? Honestly can somebody give me a decent reason? Are WWE trying to say that that title is less important than the WWE Tag titles? That tag match or the HHH match should have gone on first. Obviously you couldn't have put on the World Tag or Women's matches on first because they would have killed the crow dead. But come on. A world title match on first? Good match overall. I hope Burke get's a title run ahead of Morrison.

MVP & Hardy vs. D & D: I enjoyed this as well. D & D are still green but I think there improving rapidly. Like L & K last year I look forward to them each week. Good match.

HHH vs. Carlito: This could have been the best match of all time. But it wouldn't matter to me as Ihate both of them. I was bored by this. It should have had a DQ finish. That wouldn't have harmed HHH but it would have helped Carlito.

Phoenix vs. Candice:
The outcome of this match baffles me. I'm totally missing the point of Candice winning. Not a bad match considering Candice is only one step up from Ashley.

Khali vs. Batista vs. Rey: Now I dont see why Khali lost. Surley Taker would be a better option to defeat him. But I thought this match was pretty good. I hate Batista and I'm bored by Rey. But I'm curious to see them wrestle each other. Hopefully at Survivor Series. This should have gone on last.

L & K vs. Cade & Murdock:
Best match of the night. It's a shame the crowd didn't care about it. Then again towards the end they got into it, which they didn't for a lot of the matches. Even Murdock is looking good at the moment. Maybe it's the company he keeps.

Cena vs. Orton: This feud isn't working for me. The only excitment for me was when Orton nearly crippled Cena Snr. Hopefully Cena doesn't drop the title to Orton.

Taker vs. Henry: What is happening to WWE? Henry main events two PPV's in as many years. WTF? Why was this on last? Takers only been gone 4 months. And he dissapears so frequently that nobody really notices anymore. Crap match. Glad the match got zero reaction. Hopefully WWE will realise that Henry will never become anything. Worst match of the card. WWE wanted to end the card on a high so they put this match on last. Shows how much they value Batista's title victory.

CM Punk-Burke: Why was this on first??? It completely de-values ECW and the ECW World Title (which are both already jokes anyway). I really like Punk and Burke,a nd I think they could have put on a show if given proper time and build up. Instead they just kinda threw this together to make up for Morrison being gone

MVP/Hardy-D&D: I'm not really a D&D fan, and I like Hardy and MVP. This match wasnt bad, the old school story of reluctant partners works well when done right. I was actually kind of hoping for D&D to win so we can finally get our US Title match between MVP and Hardy. I think a Ladder match between these 2 would be Match of the Year candidate

HHH-Carlito: Just ok to me. They are throwing HHH in matches with the likes of Booker and Carlito just to kill time until he either makes a run at the WWE Title or they can do the Kennedy/McMahon angle. I think it'll be revealed that Trips tampered with the paternity results for fun.

Beth Phoenix-Candice Michelle: Eh. As far as Womens Title matches go, it wasnt too bad. Really isnt saying much though. I'm a bit surprised Beth didnt win, she's the closest thing WWE has to an actual female wrestler

Khali-Batista-Mysterio: All that needs to be said about this "THANK GOD THEY TOOK THAT DAMN BELT OFF KHALI!!!!!" Send that piece of garbage to OVW. I actually do like Batista, but I am getting tired of him always fighting for the Title. I will gladly accept this result though, keep it warm for Edge or Taker

Cade/Murdoch-Londrick: A pretty good match. Surprised me a lot, I was expecting mediocrity. I like Londrick, they kind of remind me of a combination of The Rockers and The Hardys

Cena-Orton: Ugh. The entire reason I wanted to watch this PPV was hoping Cena finally dropped the belt, and another DQ finish in a major title match almost made me pull my hair out. I do like the Last Man Standing match at No Mercy though. I think if Orton takes the belt at No Mercy, and with all the suspended guys returnin, No Mercy has a shot to be a great PPV. Lets hope WWE doesnt screw it up

Henry-Taker: I was really disappointed when I heard Henry had received a new contract. The match wasnt awful......but it wasnt really good either. I hope Taker's just rusty from being out a while, cuz he didnt look like the normal Taker

Overall Rating: 2 and a half out of 5. Better than Summerslam, but still pretty damn bad

I actually think W.W.E. wanted to put the match they trusted to deliver the most, as far as wrestling ability was concerned. These two had a great match at Judgment Day & the fans (when they weren't getting bored) really got into it then. The only thing I hated was the finish. Goodluck with hoping Burke gets a run before Morrison, as I see Morrison reclaiming what he never should've lost. Punk isn't Heavyweight Championship material to me, his face gimmick is just too weak to carry as a Main Event Champion.

MVP & Hardy vs. D & D: I enjoyed this as well. D & D are still green but I think there improving rapidly. Like L & K last year I look forward to them each week. Good match.

Yeah, I think THIS is the crystal meth kicking in. Deuce n' Domino are a good team, but I can't get passed their ******ed "Grease" gimmick. They'd be better served to drop it & be a normal heel team. Their finisher isn't "flashy" but by all means, you find something that doesn't seem as realistic as getting kicked in the mouth. The only reason Hardy/M.V.P. are still the Champs, in my opinion, is because W.W.E. may be getting tired of the "best of" gimmick chess, basketball, arm wrestling, etc. match-ups. And they need to get these two, to quite possibly the next one or two p.p.v.'s.

Phoenix vs. Candice: The outcome of this match baffles me. I'm totally missing the point of Candice winning. Not a bad match considering Candice is only one step up from Ashley.

I'm telling you, Trish Stratus/Victoria, No Mercy-Survivor Series 02 relived all over again.

Khali vs.

I'm completely in shock over this. I'll admit I like Batista holding the Championship over Khali, but why even bother. Batista has received a Championship match at every p.p.v. with exception of two within the past, what, 11 monthes?! Why not just give him back the damn Championship during the Battle Royal, then go with Khali winning it?! This makes next to no sense, unless Taker pushed for his return to Championship glory to be against Batista instead of the walking chopfest.

Cena vs. Orton: This feud isn't working for me. The only excitment for me was when Orton nearly crippled Cena Snr. Hopefully Cena doesn't drop the title to Orton.

I think you, next to Slyfox may be the only one pushing for Randy Orton to NOT win the Championship. I get that Orton uses rest holds, & yeah.. its boring, but what are the other options outside of the foreseeable Triple H.?

When was the last time Mark Henry Main Evented a p.p.v.?! Royal Rumble, agianst Kurt Angle of 2006?! I also think the reason Batista didn't get this spot, because fans are as upset with him receiving mulitple title shots, as they are with Cena retaining in as many Championship matches.

MY SIGNS WERE THE ONES THAT WERE TAKEN. I was in 113 G Seats 15 & 16.

Here's my take on the ppv...

WWE UNFORGIVEN: 9-16-2007 FROM MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE

Dark match: Kane vs Kenny. Went to get drinks for my gf. Quick match. Didn't hear Kenny's music. Squash: Kane I suppose

The PPV begins. Justin Roberts tells us there will be pyro, then we'll go live on PPV. So enjoy. Crowd gets excited.

ECW Championship Match: CM Punk (c) defeats Elijah Burke via pin fall

Good ovation for Punk. Not much of a reaction throughout the whole match. It was back and forth for the most part. I don’t think this was even worth being on the card as to some people didn’t have a clue to what the build up was. Jeff Hardy could have been used here instead if it was just a 5 day build up. * 3/4 And I really like Punk too.

Note: They were confiscating signs BIG TIME. During the first couple of matches, they hounded everything! I was trying to get on tv. I was just to the right of the standard camera angle. Yet, I never saw my signs get on the Titantron. However, 2 of my 4 signs were yanked. One read “RKO > Wellness Policy / Beth Phoenix’ Jaw Uses HGH and the 2nd was “Team Signature Pharmacy”. A guy behind me got his yank for promoting some myspace site. Anyway, they were very media sensitive towards the whole steroid issue. I wouldn’t be surprise if the edited out some angles. Didn’t know WHERE their cameras where picking me up from. They add agents planted like seeds everywhere in the crowd. I lied for the first sign and said I didn’t have the “Team Signature Pharmacy” poster. So he left me alone. Then only to come back like 2 seconds later, saw my “RKO >” poster, looked passed it and yanked the “Team Sig”. Then a different guy. Next match. Yanked my RKO / Beth sign. Crazy. Thought I was getting kicked out. They were heated. HOT STUFF.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: MVP and Matt Hardy (c) defeats Deuce and Domino via pin fall

People are starting to root for MVP. More of the same back-and-forth entertaining segments between MVP and Hardy. We ate it up. Especially when they tried to imitate one another’s move set. Finish saw MVP cleaning house and getting a face rub because he saved Hardy. Nice win for them. The odd couple story has been done before. But this one seems to keep growing. One of the better matches of the night. Everything made sense. ***

Triple H defeats Carlito via pin fall

Triple H entrance hits every post. Long entrance. Carlito. Not so much. Solid stuff from both guys. Carlito wasn’t tryingo too hard to involve the crowd, but his white powder stuff was okay heel heat. Predictable win for Trips. You can feel it throughout the flow of the match. Saw knee to the head, atomic drop, pedigree finish a mile away ** 1/2

Women's Championship Match: Candice Michelle (c) defeats Beth Phoenix via pin fall
Phoenix carried this match. My pick for title drop of the night. The fans loved Candice, but not for her wrestling abilities and aren’t really buying the whole “sexy girl gone bad ass” routine. Everyone loved making fun of Phoenix. The crowd was cracking up. I yelled most of the jokes, and surprisingly, they were well received. Good PPV start for Beth’s character. She has a future title reign with her name on it. Weird slow reverse samoan drop for the finish by Candice on Michelle. ** I know some women can’t move that fast to some degree. But this half ass speed crap is ridiculous. I hope Phoenix is the “new wave” of stars to change that. Beth’s heat was more over with the crowd than Michelle’s pops.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Batista defeats The Great Khali (c) and Rey Mysterio: Triple Threat Match to become 3 time champion
They did interview segments throughout the night beginning with Rey Rey and Michael Cole. Then Batista. Then Khali. Decent heat for Khali. Especially after the watermelon crush which was supposed to be Batista’s head. Kids and everyone pulled for Rey. People liked Batista too. Solid pop for Rey Rey again throughout the match. Everyone ate up Batista moves. Best finish of the night towards the end of the match. Batista really muscled his way to the title. Nice spot: powerbomb move Bats did on Rey on Khali. Crowd ate up the finish. Solid long well-deserved ovation afterwards. *** 1/2

World Tag Team Championship Match: Lance Cade and Trevor Murdock vs Paul London and Brian Kendrick
Most disappointing match for the night. Very little high spots. Dead crowd. No one was into this match. *1/2 Expected more from this tag title match and not the other one. Lack of energy.

WWE Championship Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton
Crowd was mixed through out the whole match. During the long lock up you could hear “Let’s Go Orton/Let’s Go Cena”….Horrible DQ MMA rip off finish. Fans felt cheated. The ONLY reason Cena was cheered at the end is because all of our voices were horse from fighting off young kids and horny little girls. PLUS, we felt cheated and exasperated from the result. Nothing more. Nothing less. You can even hear us gaining back hope and positivity that all isn’t lost when Coachman announced Orton will get another shot at the title again. The crowd semi popped for Orton there. Although at the PPV, he didn’t say if it would be at No Mercy or Raw tomorrow in Nashville. However, I’m reading reviews that JBL, of all people, and not JR, announced a No Mercy PPV match. ** ½ Too short.

Semi rant in 3..2..1…people if you were pulling for a guy for the last 365 odd days to drop a title in your own hometown and you paid money for great seats you would be a little disappointed/winded/shocked that it didn’t happen--------again. Don’t worry. Cena is still very much unliked. Or at least half and half. END RANT

Undertaker vs Mark Henry

Long entrance. Lot of pictures. Taker came back yet again. Isn’t this like this 5th return promo? At least 3 times. Its getting old. And I like Taker. Please hang them up. Ditto for Flair. Stop ruining your legacy and give the yuggins a try.
Anyway, Taker was the most over for the night. Okay stuff. Seemed like a glorified Smackdown! main event match. Same tired spots. I think Henry got off a couple of splashes and missed one. Maybe one corner move. And a bear hug. That’s about all the offense he gets usally. Taker did his habitual spots. People were starting to grow impatient and its funny because we thought they, the wrestlers, sensed that and did the finish. * 3/4

SUMMARY:

Okay show. Didn’t expect World title drop. Nice segment afterwards between Trips and Bats with Trips saying basically getting it (the title) is one thing, keeping it is another. They did the whole macho hug too. Surprised segment. But fun to watch. Other matches and finishes were slightly predictable. Wasn’t anticipating progression since they only had three weeks to build this up. And one of those weeks were plagued by ….(rolls drum) TEAM SIGNATURE PHARMACY. I guess it was a little above okay come to think of it with the SI article and the allotted time to put together a show. ** ¾ Glad to see them back in a PPV. Last one was with Big Show’s debut through the ring at “WWF’s St Valentine’s Day Massacre”

TOP POPS:
1. Undertaker
2. Triple H
3. Batista
4. John Cena
5. CM Punk

Cena had too many boos throughout the match. He just had a couple of good pops at the end because of reasons listed above.

TOP HEAT
1. John Cena
2. Khali
3. Cade and Murdoch (Cryme Tyme chants started before PPV and during their match)
4. Randy Orton (I guess Orton is on here only because they rooted so much for John Cena instead) But I would take Orton off and put Henry fifth. Eh.. Orton has a strong fan base here. Hence the reaction. Last Raw March 2006, this was a 75% Cena town. Now it’s about 50/50.
5. Carlito

*Kennedy, Flair and HORNSWOGGLE chants throughout the night too.

1. CM Punk vs Elijah Burke:
No surprises whatsoever.

2. Matt Hardy/MVP vs Deuce & Domino:
I'm disappointed in this. Why? Because it means that Deuce & Domino will continue feuding with them until they lose the belt. I can't stand D&D and I'm so sick of watching them on Smackdown, but they have nobody else to feud with, so they're going to be doing more of that crap for the next 6 weeks or whatever.

3. Triple H vs Carlito:
Was there even a point? If this wasn't Triple H, I could see them using this as a springboard to give someone a push, but Triple H doesn't NEED a push anymore. He already has the clout where he doesn't need to be built up to challenge a champion. The only thing that happened because of this match was that it put an extra shovel-full of dirt to help bury Carlito.

4. Candice Michelle vs Beth Phoenix:
*Snore*. Didn't care. Still don't. But for the fans that might've been looking forward to this match (please, I'm not a comedian, haha) I feel bad for them only getting a cheap roll-up win.

5. Batista vs Rey Mysterio vs Khali:
So rather than have Khali (who by the way deserves it the least) retain one more time so Undertaker can beat him and make an impact by "slaying the monster" so to speak...or having Mysterio win it so he can drop it to Edge...they give it to Batista....ok so we have Batista vs Undertaker and just a rematch of Wrestlemania again to reset things? Idk...seems a little bland to me. Creative must really be filled with idiots if they couldn't think of anything better than to just pretend like the past few months never occurred. I'd rather have Batista than Khali, but I'd rather have Mysterio than Batista....and I'd rather have Undertaker than Mysterio.

6. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs Paul London and Brian Kendrick:
Knew they'd retain. Nothing special. They didn't build up a feud, so why would they switch titles? What are we watching, the old and interesting WWF instead of the boring WWE?

7. Randy Orton vs John Cena:
Alright this is where my big problem lies with this ppv. Its quite obvious that there are only two reasons they kept the belt on Cena: 1) To give him the one-year status, which is just appalling to me because it cheapens the concept of retaining for a year. 2) Because they have some ******ED rule it seems nowadays where they need to do everything by threes. How many ppv matches did we have with Morrison/Punk? Three and he won on the 4th attempt. How many Batista/Undertaker challenges did we have? Three if I remember correctly. How many Batista/Khali matches have we been having? Isn't this the third? Its painfully annoying how predictable they're getting. If they want people to be more interested, give them something to be interested in! Have someone lose a belt in the middle of nowhere! One week we're watching Raw and BAM we have a new Intercontinental champ with Jeff Hardy. Was it well received? Damn right it was, and it wasn't just because it was Jeff, it was because it allowed breathing room for something DIFFERENT. Umaga squashes are ok when used sparingly, but if you do it every single time then you lose the crowd. Cena retaining for over a year time and time again = the boos he's been receiving for months now. Before the WHC title was changed to a triple threat, we all knew that Batista was going to be involved in some way, right? See what I mean here? The title scene has changed from being something you anticipate to something you just put up with. I'd argue that those (like myself) that want Cena to drop the title don't necessarily like seeing Cena ALMOST lose the title, nor do we even care that its Orton that is winning the title most likely, but we just want something different because we're bored to high hell with over a year of "Cena says stuff. Cena gets challenged. Cena gets beat up. Cena talks again. Cena retains." Cena isn't getting heel heat, he's getting "we don't like this guy as an entertainer" heat, which is NOT the type of heat you want from your audience. Santino Marella is at least getting heat from how we love to hate the guy. Cena is an ok performer, I'll give him that, and he obviously has a fan base, but when you shove something down peoples throats for such a long time, you have to expect backlash, and they're just finally realizing that. All I want is for someone else to have the belt - someone who can pique my interest. Whether that's Orton or Edge (who is by far, in my opinion, one of the top five guys in the WWE right now along with Undertaker and HBK) doesn't matter as much to me as just seeing someone other than a monster or Cena.

8. Undertaker vs Mark Henry:
We all knew who was going to win this. Good thing the Undertaker's back...the WWE needs him both in the locker rooms and as a main-stay for the company in terms of entertaining the crowd.

I understand everyone wants to see Cena drop the belt but not to Orton. He's a prick outside the ring (i.e; European hotel trashing, stealing a fan's camera...what the f*ck??) The only reason he still has a job is because he has awesome natural athletic ability. Anybody else who acted like that would've been dropped a long time ago. I'd rather have Cena hold the belt until SOMEBODY, face or heel with a little common sense and a good work ethic comes in or returns from injury......HHH, Lashley, HBK, Umaga, Kennedy (even though he's pretty much a joke), Maria......ANYBODY, lol!!

Well WWE is loving the Trilogies.

Raw - Orton vs. Cena
Smackdown - Batista vs. Edge / Taker vs. Batista
ECW - Lashley vs. McMahons / Punk vs. Morrison

Batista/Edge and Batista/Taker was very good.
Punk vs. Morrison was real old same with Cena vs. Orton. I admit its not what it could be but its not the WWE fault we keep getting the same guys in the same spot. Batista and the World Title. Smackdown got rapped in the draft then the suspensions. OK King Booker should have stayed and Umaga should have switched to Smackdown. It could be worse but we get a new ECW champ, IC Champ, World champ, WWE Tag Team champs, and eventual WWE champ. So we are upset for what. Let look at the positive HHH, Rey, Taker and eventually Edge plus all the other suspened talent are back or on the way back. Khali is no longer champ and Orton will be Oct 8 2007 the RKO era begins then around Nov the Rated R era is back, and the PUNK era is still riding high. Matt will be US champ along with Jeff as IC champ. HBK will return and maybe even Y2J. Reason to be upset now but it will all be better in the coming months. Around Mania 24 all the top talents will be back including Lashley and maybe the debut of new Hart Foundation. Damn lets just be patient.

Punk vs. Burk:i agree with jake and prob, most of the people, I am still wondering why this match was on first? I agree, guess the WWE does value the tag titles more than the ECW heavyweight championship match. This was a decent match, i enjoyed it personally, IMO it was the best thing of the night. overall this was a good match.

MVP & Hardy vs. D & D: I enjoyed this match, I am not a big fan of D&D but out of all fairness they have vastly improved over time. This is a good feud for them and i enjoy seeing them sometimes because they do work well together. I believe overall it was a decent match.

HHH vs. Carlito: This match was terrible HHH get killed than miraculously HHH pulls a pedigree out of his rear. Terrible match and i really didnt care because i despise both of them.

Phoenix vs. Candice: I like the outcome of it even though Candice couldnt wrestle her way out of a wet paper bag. Out of all fairness decent match and actually didnt bore me.

Khali vs. Batista vs. Rey: I have no idea why Khali lost, Batista is terrible and has been given what like 9 shots at the title and has been in every title match except for two in the last yr. This match wasnt that bad but it wasnt that good. I was mad about the outcome but apparently any thing can happen in the WWE. I just cant wait for Edge's return. Maybe the title matches will get exciting. But to me this outcome made no sense.

L & K vs. Cade & Murdock: It was a solid match but i think wasnt the best tag match, The crowd didnt care, but i did. Solid match better than i thought, they actually meshed pretty good together but was mad about the outcome.

Cena vs. Orton: I agree with Jake this feud is not working for me, I would rather have Cena Win a gazillion times than have orton as champ. I hope Cena doesnt drop the title to Orton or even HHH in that matter. But it was a decent match i loved watching Cena go crazy, I loved the dad punting Orton that was like the most exciting thing of the night, and i know that is pretty sad.

Taker vs. Henry: Why is this match headlining a PPV? Every one knew the outcome, I respect Taker as a wrestler and he didnt deserve that reaction i think i heard some one sneeze during that match. People dont buy into mark henry as a serious opponent and it was a terrible match and should have never headlined this PPV. In all fairness though Taker did wrestle Henry and you cant make him look good but also this Main Event was terrible. IMO if this match started off the event the crowd would have been ecstatic.

All in all a terrible PPV, most matches were predictable beyond what they usually are. the only thing that fooled me was Batista winning. Every other match was basically below standard except for maybe the Punk Burke match. All in all a terrible PPV a terrible Main Event and it is quite hard to take the WWE serious. But out of fairness some feuds were rushed together and give them the benefit of the doubt. I just hope everything vastly improves. Not the worst PPV but not the best.

Probably the worst PPV of the year. Awful. My favorite match of the night was probably the women's match, which really goes to show how crap the PPV was. That match told a good story, and it was nice to see Candice get the "upset" victory. All of the other matches were decent at best, except for the main event which was plain horrible, and by far the worst match of the night (and possibly of the year).

I was at the Unforgiven PPV last night. Some friends of mine had an extra ticket so I gladly tagged along. Much of the show left much to be desired but I was still pleased with it (afterall, I only paid 6 bucks for parking, they gave me the ticket for free).

I was surprised by Undertaker-Mark Henry headlining the main event. I figured this match would at best be the 3rd to last match of the night (with the Heavyweight and WWE Championship matches following it). But once the stage was set for the Undertaker's AMAZING entrance, my friends and I figured they made that the main event b/c they had to take half the stage apart for the Undertaker's entrance. If anyone noticed, the screen above the entrance wasn't used for that match.

I personally, despise Randy Orton with a passion, so I didn't mind seeing him leave Memphis without the championship gold around his waist, but I would have preferred seeing him be pinned after the F-U or tap out to the STFU.

My favorite match of the evening was probably the Heavyweight Championsip match. Rey worked the crowd well right up until the end. I actually thought he was gonna win there for a while. I did like the way Batista ended the match, powerbombing Rey onto Khali and then putting Khali away for good.

I was glad Memphis was chosen to host a PPV again. I attended the St. Valentines Day Massacre back in 1999 when Stone Cold fought Vince in the steel cage and have been to Raw the few times it has been in recent years. The arena always seems to be sold out when WWE comes to town. Hope to see them back soon.

Overall - 3 out of 5 stars

The PPV was good, considering that there are too many superstars suspended and injured. I didnt think that Taker vs Henry match will be the main event. WWE put Taker vs Batista WM match practicaly at beginning, but Taker VS Henry is the main event here, those guys are really stupid.
Punk VS Burke as the first match, they continue to devaluate ECW.

I dont mind how they booked this PPV at all. It wuz all about Taker from the jump so him on last is what needed to be done. ECW Title should have went on after HHH vs. Carlito but seeing how they treat ECW it made sense to put this on first to get the show poppin. Unforgiven was hyped as Taker Returns thats it. Everything took a back seat to this including the coveted WWE Title,World Title, and ECW title. Again it wuz all about Taker so the booking made sense. Batista title win was a shock but it just so we can finally get a decent Smackdown World Title feud and Match at No Mercy. Taker vs. Batista IV. As far as RAW they planned on Cena vs. Orton III so I new Cena would retain.LMS should be good. This PPV was just to build to No Mercy imo nothing more nothing less. I see the logic. Based on Unforgiven its safe to assume the top matches for No Mercy will be:

Punk vs. Big Daddy V ECW title as V will destroy Boogeyman tonight (can Punk overcome the odds)
Batista vs. Taker World Title
Cena vs Orton III LMS (confirmed) WWE Strap (New Champ)
Candice vs Beth II Womens Title
HHH against an unnamed opponent as punishment for screwing with Vince. and we all now it will be Umaga w/Carlito unless HHH takes him out in the cage next week.

WWE is just waiting till Oct 1 Raw amd Oct 2 Smackdown/ECW when Morrison, Umaga, Kennedy among others return from Supension. No Mercy Oct 7 should be good.

First Post, just wanted to say, is it just me, or is the Cena/Orton storyline one of the best for a long time. There matches are awesome (considering this time a year ago Cena was still a disgrace to the title) and the way they split the crowd adds to them so much.

Have to say Unforgiven was a predictable ending though, I expected a title changes on a DQ stipulation to be added after the Regal attack to give Orton a win that sets him up as the dominant heel.

Although when he beat Benoit for the title, it was a clean win, unusual for a Heel champion, don't see how they can play a Heel angle within the rules of Last Man Standing
