I agree with Prax. I would never say I'm a Khali fan... far from it, but monsters do have their place in the world of wrestling. I will always, ALWAYS prefer title reigns for guys like Punk, Edge, and HBK (real wrestlers), but Khali's job is to be a massive beast of a man that's darn near unstoppable. And that's exactly what he is. Yeah, sure, maybe he moves around like a redwood tree and makes Iron Shiek sound like an English professor, but if you think about it, Andre the Giant was the same way, and that guy is a true legend. As long as it isn't a long term deal, I'm alright with Khali as the champ.

This freaking sucks. EDGE is now injured. The only people right now on Smackdown who can hold the WHC are Batista, Kane, maybe Matt Hardy and maybe Finlay. What I would really like to see is Chris Jericho come back and shock the world and win the WHC. Anyway, The Great Khali as champion... I give up on Smackdown. The only reason I watched it was because they moved Edge and gave him what he deserves... a championship run. Here again, cut short by injuries. God help Smackdown and the writers. We also have to remember, Triple H has pull and I believe he likes Batista, so we will probably see him with the strap.

I think that it was an interesting choice as I'd rather see Mark Henry be champion as I see he has more potential considering he can use a mic..........at all.......but then again i never though kahli was going to be a long term deal in wwe and i was wrong! but o well....can't wait to see how they remove it from him! lol.....maybe same way they did with big show? Overall i think it was a crummy choice...

The weird thing is , if they had the World Title Match at the end of the night (the battle royal that it) , how would they have the time for a number one contender match? Either it went after it , on Smackdown! which would look odd?.

With this at least I can see a 3 way fued between Kane, Kahli and Batista that might last for a little bit. Maybe a triple threat match for the bash? Wouldn't be very exciting seeing as Kane is the only one that can actually work. This is a dark day, I was really looking forward to Edge v. Kane too.

This is unbelievable. I sat here staring at WWE.com at this picture for at least 20 mins.

To even begin with that Edge has been injured is terrible. He finally had the title, he finally wasn't being fed to people (geez...wonder who), even though Creative made him look weak and cowardly it doesn't matter, the guy was getting the reign he deserved. Now injured again for at least 4 months - this is ridiculous. I am thankful however that it was not a HHH injury or 'Taker injury, that Edge won't be gone TOO long, but what we have to put up with in the meantime...ergh

Khali wins the title. This alone makes me thankful that I can't watch SD!. I'd shit myself seeing him win the strap. I do agree however and acknowledge that he is just a transitional champion, but damn, a face has to win the title (or so creative has to insist) and who do we have...Batista? Kane? Hardy? Bullshit. Kane does deserve the title simply because he hasn't had the reign that he has deserved, but he's not good in the ring much anymore. Batista, I don't even need to go into detail about why that is a disastrous idea. Even Creative decided that they were going to keep him out of it, but now they might throw him right back into it. I say again. Bull. Shit. Hardy is over, yes, he has been getting a push, yes, but you can't just throw the man into the Main Event scene when he wasn't even won the midcard title. Maybe some day, but it's not now.

No matter how this turns out I'm going to be disappointed. Unless they bring in some people from RAW it's going to be a very very bad rest of the year for SD!

I would have also liked to see Orton walk into SD! and win that title. Would have made my week Just cause I think Orton could hold the brand up by himself, or have Kennedy get some revenge on edge.

I could see them doing orton or kennedy, i wouldv'e loved kennedy cuz it makes sense and cuz i think that it would really give him the push he deserves and couldv'e built a new wrestler at true main event status.....plus Kurt Angle did it when Batista lost it...

I feel really bad for the guys over on SmackDown that actually deserive the title, people like Hardy, like Kane, like umm .. I guess that's about it, they pretty much got fucked over in the draft and losing Edge and Taker to injury cuz right now ECW is looking better O.O what a horrible thought Vince's ECW better then SmackDown. Anyway the only way there gonna be able to pull off Kahli as champ is if they get him some English lessons and pronto, otherwise put the belt on ... i can't belive I'm saying this but .... Batista, at least then Edge could come back in four months and kick his ass again, unless Rey can do it first.

I totally agree, atleast Batista kind of looks like a decent champ, and by looks like......i mean LOOKS...cuz that's all Batista is there for...the huge build of muscle....it's terrible...the "WWE LOOK" and atleast he has a longer history and can speak english....HE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH, But i'd still rather have Mark Henry considering the return of Rey....david and goliath...plus kane vs mark henry.....considering they are looking for a heel champ anyways....

So what happens to Kane? Like him as a wrestler or not its still not right for him to be jobbed out of contention for a title he deserves more than Batista. If this happens if I were Kane I'd ask to be released from the contract and let him do more crappy horror movies at least he'd be utilized a lot more.

Way to go Vince everyone wanted Kahli as champ for a week until Batista gets it back and Kane is in the back watching matches. The best worker of the 3 won't be used and then you'll be wondering why this ppv is one of the worst ever...Way to go Vince, without competition you suck

WWE could actually surprise us, and have Kane win. But since Boretista was already going to face Khali, it will probably be Kane beats Batista, but then it comes out because he signed the 'contract' to face Khali, it will have to be a 3 way match at GAB.

IMO Khali will keep the title for a while, we know how much Vince likes the guy even if he couldn't wrestle his way out of a paper bag.

I am in the minority, I agree with you and Im actually in the mood to see a dominating destructive person get a title reign. I wouldve been satisfied if Mark Henry got a reign. Khali is great in the role that he plays as a monster, I dont know why people bash his in ring skills are they expecting a 5 star match out of him or something?

Khali's not hated cuz he's a heel. He's got X-Pac heat. People hate him because he sucks. This is a terrible idea. and I already know what's going to happen. Batista's going to act like it's 1985 and he's Hulk Hogan. He's going to beat Khali and have another long-awaited (note sarcasm) title reign while the fans moan in agony and Edge sinks into depression as the show he tried to save goes down the tubes, thanks to Vince's "big guy" obsession.

Khlai winning the gold is not great but you know that when Edge comes back that he will thrown right back in the title hunt just like they Big Dave Dudd when he came back. Edge was not defeated for his gold. I see Edge coming back and winning the WHC and thus facing the dead man at WM24. Who ever wins the WHC will only hold it till Edge gets back IMO.

So The Great Khali as champion is not that bad of a swing (I was rooting for him at Judgment Day and One Night Stand), its the entire point being that for ONCE I thought I was not going to see Batista with the belt for a LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG TIME and I was stoked. Like I said, its not the fact that Khali is champ, its the fact that Batista WILL be Champ. And Im pretty sure most wrestling fans want to see Kane with another championship reign (Smackdown tapings are on tuesday, so he could at least have a two day reign) But thats rubbish. WWE isn't about wrestling, you fools.

I agree, but I still hope for Matt Hardy to get a title run. He could carry the show, and when Edge returns, they could have a stellar feud. But I remind myself that is WWE we are talking about and giving the fans what they want is strictly forbidden.

I could see kane win at GAB and hold the title until taker gets back. They could make kane mental again and turn him heel against taker and this oculd possibly lead up til wm24 but i dont see that happening unless kane gets a bit fitter and with the attitude that Glen Jacobs has i think he will improve.

I noticed on WWE.com that they're putting the WHC belt over as a curse since it went to SD. Mabey we could luck ut and see Khali drop it real quick to Batista, then he gets injured again? That'd be nice. Seriously though SD is in some serious trouble now that Edge is out of the picture. Edge was SD's saving grace sort to speak when he went over there and won the gold. It would seem that with Edge out of the picture WWE is going to push Khali to be the top heel on SD. Can't say I really agree with that choice. I think they'd be better off bringing up a mid carder like MVP or Finlay. Yet this is WWE so... As far as Kane getting the gold... I really don't see it happening as much as I would love to. Batista will probably win the belt at the bash, then we'll have to deal with a Batista vs Khali feud for a few months... Then Edge comes back and all will be right again... I hope

I'm hoping it's a short reign. Hopefully he loses it to Kane in an inferno match. He goes to do the pujabi chop, but kane moves and he chops the fire instead. Then we can have Edge vs. Undertaker vs. Kane, hell in a call triple threat match. That would be kick ass.

If WWE wasn't so dumb by moving Kennedy to RAW it would've worked out perfect cause they could just act like Kennedy attacked & injured Edge backstage as payback for the Money In The Bank thing then when Edge came back they could have a huge payback feud that would draw ratings!!! but no crybaby HHH wanted more heels on RAW for him to beat up, i see this as Kennedy being screwed again missing his 2'nd chance at being WHC. wonder what he's thinking about the situation? probably pissed again i would be.
