[Official] Bar Room Tag Tourney Preparation Thread

How many Deuce's Wild (random pairs) teams? Remember, there'll be 64 teams overall.

  • 16 - that's a quarter

  • 8 - that's an eighth

  • A different fraction entirely

Results are only viewable after voting.
I'll be backing The Eliminators all the way until teams are announced. I doubt there's enough support to even get them in :(

I'll also be backing some other old ECW teams. RVD/Sabu, Whipwreck/Cactus, Dudley Boyz, and the Pitbulls.

EDIT: IC would also be happy to know I'll be backing Bigelow/Vader. They could legitimately kill almost every team in this thing...

16 seems to have the most support. We'll have to see how many worthwhile teams you ***** come up with then. Right now, only 16 will actually come from WrestleZone's general members.

Any ideas how to select the Deuce's Wild teams? A hat? You guys could just yell out random wrestler names...

I'd say you should number a list of guys 1-32, and use a random number generator.

This sounds like a good way to do it. Make a list of wrestlers out of your own choices, seeding, or any other way you want to do it. Then just use a random number generator to team them up.

If you're going to make the list yourself, maybe let us in on picking the teams. Pick a poster out of whoever is here following it, and have them pair up 3 sets of numbers, and so on and so forth. For instance:

Marquis - 2 and 14, 17 and 18, 30 and 32
NSL - 1 and 6, 3 and 10, 20 and 25

Thats a really good idea. Obviously don't post the roster before you get people to pick.

Or we could just go ahead and shout out random names. Im going to go Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold.

Hogan and Flair. Stone Cold and Hitman. Paul Roma and X-Pac.

OK, that last one was a joke.

The selection process begins tomorrow, my friends.

Just as a final suggestion, for the random teams, you should probably avoid using guys like Hogan, Hart, Flair, and Austin. It'd probably keep it a little more fair for the real teams if they're facing guys like Mysterio, Jericho, RVD, and Steamboat.

Yeah, how are the guys who are eligible for the random teams chosen? I think big stars should be used in a combination with smaller stars. Hogan and Mikey Wripreck would be a solid team.

Number wrestlers from 1 to 32, with 1 as the best wrestler and 32 as the lowest, and put 1 with 32, 2 with 31 and so on. Or just pick numbers from a hat.

Chris Cash put up the 10 "greatest tag teams" and the Hart Foundation were number 8. They are screwed this year, because apparently "The Hardy Boyz" are 6 times better than them.

Don't focus on the Hardys on that list. They are an alltime great tag team. HBK's second best team was ranked ahead of the Hart's. That's the travesty.

I'd pay Cash only slightly more attention than that Madden twat. Which reminds me, I need to finish that list.

Chris Cash may help put together WZ, but his opinions are crap. Don't rank the Rock n' Roll Express, but rank their knockoffs from the WWF, the Rockers. And no Minnesota Wrecking Crew or Tully and Arn at all. Doesn't include one of the best Tag Team wrestlers to ever grace a wrestling ring (Arn Anderson), yet, puts the Hardy Boyz...or Junkie Dopehead 2000 as I called them in fucking high school.

Lariat > Chris Cash. Period.
