NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn- Live Discussion

Show's over. Now I gotta pick what to watch next. NJPW G-1 Finals or The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Both are long as fuck.

I am with Bacon here. I was really expecting more. It wasn't bad but didn't leave me marking out as I hoped I would be.

G1 final, It has Elgin over as fuck, it has Tanahashi Vs Nakamura, it has KUSHIDA vs Ricochet and a Pretty damn good Bucks vs ReDragon match

At this point, I would say you need three forks. One for TNA. One for ROH. And a third for GFW. And stick one into each of them. Because they're done.

This is WWE's "C" show. Their developmental brand. And with that type of in ring action, telling those quality story lines, utilizing that production value in front of such a large and enthusiastic crowd, there's nothing anyone else can do to even come close to competing. I no longer care about invasion story lines, rebranding, etc., WWE has a total monopoly on the business, and rightly so.

Guess what they are going to attempt to rise to the occasion as well. It is a glorious time to be a Wrestling fan right now, so much wrestling and so much good wrestling at that. then there is the WWE main show which is hit or miss at best

Only TNA. GFW has nothing WWE wants and ROH is more than smart enough to stick to their own niche. TNA was the only one stupid enough to go after WWE and look what happened.

I heard. Still though. One of the greatest movies of all time. 1 hour less. I'll toss a coin.

There's a problem with this though. WWE is now actively developing this product to pull down those companies and take their talent. There was never a chance for them stand above them because it's the WWE machine making this.

Besides, at this point, NJPW & AAA are your #2 & #3 companies internationally.

Reportedly Kana was signed by WWE a few weeks ago. Also, top NJPW officials (including the president, booker and head of talent relations) were at the NXT show instead of ROH.

The best overall special since December. NXT was all hype and word of mouth recently and then a show like this with all pretty damn entertaining matches proves that it can still be amazing. Nobody looked bad on tonight's show.

As someone who is of the opinion that the NXT Women's Division and its matches have been sorely overrated by the IWC.... I must admit that Bayley vs. Sasha Banks was absolutely terrific. Just an incredible match all around, easily the best match of the night.

Great show overall though. Gonna be tough for Summerslam to top it.

Some thoughts.

15,000 fans at an NXT event. It's hard to fathom it happened already. ROH, TNA, ECW, couldn't do it.

Liger vs. Breeze went as expected. Still surreal to see Liger finally on a WWE card.
Villains vs. BAMF. Say what you will about smark crowds, but the reaction for Blue Pants was outstanding.
Crews vs. Tye. Low point of the show, but wasn't expecting much. Crews looks to be an athletic specimen.
Joe vs. Corbin. Easily the best we've seen of these two in NXT.
Banks vs. Hug Life. Easily match of the night. Perfect story telling, and a great way to send Banks off.
Balor vs. KO. Not bad, but slightly underwhelming. The match was long, yet felt compressed. The ending seemed rather sudden.

Overall, another good show by NXT. I can't recall an organization that puts out specials at a consistently good to great level. They have yet to have an average Takeover event, let alone a bad one.

Also, when was the last time the Faces had a clean sweep on a show?

Not really, I was there. Someone tried to throw streamers in the ring and security kicked them out, they were allowed back in a few minutes later.

Its what it seemed like at the time due to seeing everyone on hard camera turning to look at what was going on rather than the match
