Getting Noticed By Management
I'm excited to see where TNA goes with this change in attitude. I'm hopeful they will cut down on the vignettes, and we'll see if the intensity picks up in the ring. I'm willing to give them a chance.

I think its a shame fans don't have three initials to chant for anymore. It might just be a little thing, but it was fun.
Nobody is going to be chanting "IMPACT! IMPACT! IMPACT!". Just doesn't sound right.
Not an important or integral aspect of any wrestling program. Do WWE fans chant "W-W-E"? Did they ever chant "W-W-F"?
There are a ton of wrestling promotions from now and in the past who don't/didn't utilize a three-letter "chantable" acronym Chikara, Dragon Gate, New Japan, All Japan, Evolve, Jim Crocket Promotions, etc.
I don't like it.
how many years has wrestling had multiple words in a name that were then shortened to letter abbreviations? you can go on and on.. TNA, WWE, RHO, WCW, ECW, WWF, NWA, AWA, WWWF, and probably more and more. now Impact Wrestling.
I don't mind a name change from Total Nonstop Action, but they could have went to a name where you could shorten it to letter abbreviations.
Doesn't everyone want drastic things out of TNA? Like 5,000 threads here and based off of that word.I think this is too drastic of a name change. if they wanted to be wrestling they could have went to something around the current letters/name, maybe.. Total Nonstop Wrestling, Total Impact Wrestling, Total Wrestling Impact.
They have no reason to rebrand. They were taken to court. That's a bad comparison.when WWE was WWF and had to change their name because WWF was the World Wildlife Foundation, all they did was change ONE letter. Federation to Entertainment. I wouldn't be surprised if had WWF changed to something totally different it would have hurt them, even as big as they were.
Isn't that what the great IWC wants? They bitch and fucking moan about it every week. I hope TNA can add some other shows to make time for other talent and storylines.I think it's a good thing to go to more wrestling than they have been, but I really hope this isn't something drastic where it's almost all wrestling all the time.
Well, they are complaining about lack of wrestling now. If they hate what they see in a month or 2 they might as well just be idiots and never watch TNA again. I've seen enough hypocrites on Youtube that complain about it already.IMO that would kill TNA, er I mean Impact Wrestling. it's a television show and while people do want to see wrestling they more so want to be entertained.
I really think TNA, I mean "Impact Wrestling" is going to regret this name change. Impact Wrestling, smh.
my hope is that this name backfires and they bring back the name TNA and just change the name of the TV show to Impact Wrestling. IMO that makes more sense.
On last night's edition of The Voice of Wrestling radio show, special guest Arda Ocal reported that Hulk Hogan has been in strong favor of TNA dropping the "TNA" part of the company's name.
Ocal explained that during business meetings with sponsors, etc, Hogan has grown tired of having to explain to people what "TNA" stands for, and has grown tired of telling them "it does not stand for T*ts and A*s." On the contrary, he feels "Impact Wrestling" speaks for itself and is a more direct and to the point name for the product.
The Wrestling Observer is now reporting that both Hogan and Eric Bischoff are in favor of dropping the TNA name, and have been lobbying for its discontinued use in the company. The report added that Hogan feels people simply don't take the name "TNA" seriously in meetings.
So when people write the name of the company, what is it going to be?
World Wrestling Federation = WWF
World Championship Wrestling- WCW
Extreme Championship Wrestling= ECW
National Wrestling Alliance = NWA
Total Nonstop Action = TNA
Impact Wrestling = IW .......does look right to me
Surely they could have renamed it Impact Pro-Wrestling or something like that, or Impact Championship Wrestling, as almost all wrestling companies can be written shorthand as 3 letters, having 2 just looks weird.
I know its a very small thing, but the letters WCW, WWE, WWF, ECW are instantly recognisable in the TV listings and in magazines, IW doesn't have the same effect
The name TNA has grown on me. When I hear TNA, my immediate thought is wrestling.
I became a fan around the time that TNA began broadcasting of the FOX sports channel. So perhaps the name is just nostalgic for me. I was down on WWE programming when I started watching and TNA gave me something that I was missing.
Really, the name means nothing. I will be behind "Impact Wrestling" just as I was behind TNA.
The more important thing is the quality of matches, the effort put in by the wrestlers, the determination of everyone involved, and the will to succeed.
