NFL Week 17 LD

Throw this week out and there still isn't a legitimate case. Obviously Rodgers and Brees go in ahead of him but no way does Manning deserve it more. Stafford led his team to more wins and has Eli beat in almost every individual stat category. Stafford may have Calvin but Eli has the superior running game and also has some great talent at receiver as well. Going into this week Victor Cruz is third in the NFL, just behind Calvin, in receiving yards.

Victor Cruz being the #3 WR in football supports my argument. Who the F is Victor Cruz? Certainly not the #1 pick in the draft. The Lions have two very good pass catching TEs and backs that can catch out of the backfield. The Giants may have a better and healthier running game but Stafford is working with a lot more on offense and probably the best WR in the game. Other than Cruz the Giants WRs have been consistently injured.

Nate - I rarely disagree with you but Manning is a better QB. Manning has Victor "Who in the blue hell is Victor?" Cruz. Anyone can throw lobs to Megatron and rack up significant stats. Megatron was in Randy Moss mode this year.

You're really downplaying Victor Cruz's ability. He was second amongst NFL receivers in YAC yardage meaning that a lot of his yards were of his own doing and helped pad Eli's stats. Not to mention Eli also has Hakeem Nicks who has gone over 1,000 yards receiving the last 2 years.

Plus Stafford didn't just throw it up to Calvin all year. The Lions had 4 receivers over 600 yards receiving, 8 different players caught touchdown passes, and those same 8 all had at least 20 catches on the season.

1. I think you're mixed up a bit on the Cruz/Manning relationship. Manning was bailed out by Cruz, not vice versa.

2. Yes, anyone can throw TDs to Johnson. He's thrown up 16 to him. That means he's thrown 24 TDs to everyone else, only 2 less than Eli has in total.

You tke Cruz away from Manning, he has a disastrous year. You take Megatron away from Stafford, he has a year like Eli had this year.

During the halftime report I saw Matt Flynn's stat line. Holy fucking fucking fuck.

He's a FA this year too, I'm willing to bet that if GB doesn't re-sign him for some reason that he will have no problem finding a new home. I hope we do re-sign him though, dude is an excellent "insurance policy".

Since when does draft position indicate how good a player is or can be in the NFL. Charles Rogers was the second overall pick in the 2003 draft and was a complete bust. One year later Wes Welker went undrafted and is now one of the best receivers in the league. In 1994 Charles Johnson was the first receiver taken and was mostly a bust. That same year Rod Smith went undrafted.

He's as good as gone. With the number of teams in need of qb help I guarantee he becomes this offseasons Kevin Kolb except Flynn doesn't have to be traded.

Is someone suggesting Stafford isn't as good as his stats would indicate because he has Megatron to throw too, that's absolutely ridiculous.

Victor Cruz is an amazing WR that came out of nowhere, don't underestimate him just based on his position on the depth chart.

Nothing against Stafford, I would love to have him on the Bills but you seemed really confident that there was no argument against him being an NFC Pro Bowler. I think I've made a pretty solid argument against it. I'm not entirely confident that Manning belongs in the Pro Bowl over Stafford but gun to my head I would go with Manning.

Plus the Manning name is a bigger draw.:)

I'm still really confident that there isn't a legitimate argument against Stafford because yours was full of holes and easily shot down.

Why...why must my Broncos have Tebow? Why?!

We aren't actually playing that bad right now, but jeebus kroist we've got to have some offense if we're gonna do anything.

It's lookin' like Big Sexy may have been right about Tebow all along, he's played like absolute dog shit that past 3 weeks.
