NFL Week 17 LD

Ty Burna

Getting Noticed By Management
Final week of the season boys. Playoff positioning and spots on the line, rookie QB's, fantasy football finales, that sounds like a good day to me.

I'm seeing a lot of surprise wins, due to benching starters.

Miami over NE
Houston d. Jacksonville (shouldn't be a surprise though)
Washington over NYG
Oakland over KC
Dallas over Philly (although it could go either way, depending on Kolb's targets)
-------------------

NO d. TB
ATL d. CAR (since they need to win)
DET d. MN
NYJ d. Buffalo (BUF isn't starting Fitz)
BAL d. CIN
GB d. CHI
SD d. DEN
INDY d. TN
SF d. ARI
and to win the division - St. Louis over Seattle.

In the 8 games going right now Justin has two picks that are opposite of mine. Oh I'm all tingly all of a sudden.

Unless something extreme happens, I should be taking third in the pick em league.

I went with the "I have to pick against the grain" type of style this week, in hopes of a lot of shock wins.. so chances are I'll move from 6th to last (in this case, 7th - Big P's spot) CM & Theo haven't made picks since Week 11. (longer for Theo)

Season tragically ended for me last week, as long as KC beats Oakland today I can be at ease with San Diego's lackluster preformance against the Bungles last week.

All in all, 2010 was yet another disappointing year to be a San Diego sports fan.

Although I did win the Fantasy Football league, and I'm in the finals against Theo in the 2nd WZ Fantasy Football league. Winning Fantasy sports just doesn't compare to the real thing, though I wouldn't know the real thing being a San Diego fan.

I have Minn, he has Detroit and I have NE, he had Miami.

Ouch. Both of his picks are underdogs, but more favored to win due to the match-up.

MN is your best shot, because NE will bench everyone by halftime.. which means unless their back-ups, 3rd stringers and random newly signed guys can win - Miami will roll.

I think that's his logic on the Miami game. It's 7-0 NE already though. A split does me no good though, but there are a bunch more games to go today.

Ya don't worry bout Miami. New England will be up by about 30 by halftime.

Turner seems to be developing a case of fumblitis as of late. He needs to remember to secure the ball come playoff time but Atlanta is looking real good today which of course every team outside of the NFC West does against Carolina.

Am I the only one who finds it funny when a o-lineman runs full speed at a pile of players to attempt to move it? I lol every time...

......

Damn Carolina has stopped the Falcons on two straight 4th Downs deep in their territory.

This.

Last Sunday, I thought 100% (yeah, a full 100) that Carolina had every chance to win this game and surely produce solidly because Atlanta would bench guys in favor of the Playoffs.

On Tuesday or Wednesday, (or maybe we had this talk last Sunday night, who knows) it dropped to 50% or under; when I discovered ATL needed this win to clinch homefield AND the division, otherwise settle for a Wildcard spot. (should NO win)

Today, when I noticed Steve Smith was inactive, even though he hasn't done anything when he plays due to poor QB play and play calling overall.. it dropped to under 5% that I felt they'd win.

However, when ATL went for it on 4th down and 3.. INSIDE the 20.. I thought "What a bunch of fucking idiots. They're up 14-0, we haven't even driven beyond our own 19 yd line, and they go for it instead of taking an easy FG."

THEN.. when ATL had a 4th and 1, again, inside FG range.. and they went for it again.. I thought "Okay, I already couldn't stand the ATL Coach, but now I just pray Matt Ryan, Turner, White, or someone of very important value gets a season ending injury."

How they can just constantly throw away points, FG or not, is beyond me. I hope so much Carolina comes out at the half and just plays to hurt people. I have NEVER wanted an intentional injury until now. It isn't anything personal, (EDIT: personal, against You, Holy. It's entirely personal against ATL) it's just plain and simple that ATL is pointlessly trying to run up the score at this point, against a team that hasn't even accomplished moving the ball beyond the 50 (until the drive where ATL turned it over on 4th and 1) much less their own 19 (off punts, and KO's).. and ATL feels the need to risk 3 pts, because why? No reason what so ever.

So, yeah.. Ryan deserves (at the very least) a broken limb, and the Coach should be involved in a random drive by tackling, that results in some type of surgery to put him through a lot of pain.

Beyond all that.. Atlanta is playing some decent ball. :lmao:
