NFL Football LD, 2013/14 Season

How can you score 44 points in a playoff game, on the road, and not come away with the victory? I guess you can blame injuries, but even still, that's a hard pill to swallow for KC fans.

You're fucking telling me.

I do attribute it to injuries though. The best linebacker, best running back (which was fine until his backup went down too,) and best corner all went out in the game. Oh yeah, and the number 2 receiver went down too. Fucking crazy.

Still, the team is trending in the right direction, they far exceeded any expectation I had for them at the beginning of the season. Hopefully they upgrade at the TE and CB positions in the offseason. They're not far away from being legitimate contenders.

You can't really blame injuries, I think you blame Andrew Luck, who sort of has a reputation for comebacks already.

It was just a wild game and the Chiefs came out on the wrong end, unfortunately.

I enjoyed both games.

I don't like that I have no one to root for in the AFC now but I guess I can get behind the Bengals for the one or maybe two games that they'll play.

For the most part though I'll just root for whoever wins the NFC this year unless the Packers somehow manage to pull it off.

Preferably the 49ers.

Chargers-Bengals time. I have no affiliation with either of these teams, but I've enjoyed watching them the last few seasons. Should be a pretty good game. I'll care more when the Packers are on later.

When was the backwards out-of-bounds rule put in place? I don't remember that being a thing.

It's common sense, really. If you want credit for your forward progress when you're pushed backwards, you can't then also get the benefit of stopping the clock if you go out of bounds.

I said the Chargers could win if the defense forces some turnovers since Dalton is prone to a dud every now and then... looks like I was right. Feel bad for Bengal fans, but now you have to wonder how much longer you can think Dalton and/or Lewis can run this team.

Lol at the people who actually picked the Bengals to curb-stomp their way through the Chargers, Patriots, and Broncos to the SB. MARVIN LEWIS IS THEIR FREAKIN" HEAD COACH! That should be enough for you not to pick them. Thanks to the Bengals ineptitude in the playoffs, the Patriots now have to face Luck. Fucking great.

I do believe that the Chargers will beat the Broncos next week.

Rodgers with the poor man's Eli Manning to David Tyree there. Really fun game with the weather conditions, and should benan interesting finish. I'm thinking Pack win this one and lose next week.

Fuck you Ric Flair.

But seriously though, really good game. Not usually a fan of last minute field goal finishes, but a really quality story to this Packers-49ers battle. If the Pack weren't absolute shit in the first quarter, this would have gone the other way. When your first completed pass and first down don't come until the second quarter, you're having some issues getting started.

Awesome weekend of games. Two really great quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Colin Kaepernick. Packers red zone defense was impressive. 49ers defense was impressive in general.

Good weekend of playoff football. Although I can't speak for the Chargers-Bengals game because I missed it but the other games were good.

I'm happy that the idiot Packers are out.
I just wish there weren't three bitch QB's in the AFC and the Colts all contending.

What exactly constitutes a "bitch qb?" If Brady and Manning are two of the three you are referring to then maybe it means "first ballot HOFer."

Those two and Phillip Rivers are all whine asses that throw fits all the time. Jay Cutler is bad about it too when it comes to quarterbacks.

What does their attitude have to do with the hall of fame? Not a thing.

Pretty sure you're a fucking idiot, at least based on your football related posts.

All qb's get pissed when they don't get calls to go there way. Brees, Rodgers, Kaepernick, etc.. they all do it.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but aside from the year the Packers barely squeaked into the playoffs (based on tiebreaker) and won the Superbowl, Rodgers is 1-4 in playoff games, is that correct? And the only win was at home?

Yes that's correct but I've never really seen anyone call Rodgers an amazing postseason qb. His record is on par with a lot of greats. Favre went 13-11 in his career in the postseason, Brees is currently 6-4, we all know of Manning's current 9-11 record. Just like with any qb who doesn't have a phenomenal postseason record, it's a team game. In Rodgers 4 playoff losses the defense has given up an average of 39 points per game. By the way, as a Lions fan I despise the Packers so this is by no means a pro Rodgers post.

Some players known for being more emotional than others. Rivers, Brady and Manning are definitely three of them.

Dez Bryant is known for it as well.

I'm glad you can develop an opinion of me based on one thread alone.

That's not fucking stupid or anything.

Outside of the skill positions on offense, Green Bay is shit. The fact that Aaron Rodgers keeps carrying these motherfuckers into playoff berths every year is amazing.

This is kind of what I'm talking about. How come when other teams suck, it's the fault of the QB, but Rodgers always gets the credit and never the blame? Rodgers got sacked 4 times yesterday, but I know at least two of them (and I want to say three, maybe four) were because he simply holds the ball too long. Rodgers didn't throw the ball well, made some poor decisions and I don't think he did much to help them at all. The defense only gave up 23 points, which was the second fewest of wildcard weekend (not counting the Packers 20).

Why is it Peyton Manning, arguably the greatest QB ever, can receive criticism (keep in mind how the Colts were when he got injured), especially in the playoffs, but Aaron Rodgers cannot?

I'm not going to pretend I'm not biased, I watched Brett Favre take crap for years and so many of his teams were far worse than what Rodgers has had. Rodgers took over a 13-3 team which made it to the NFC Championship game the year before, and since then has won 1 Superbowl (which was DEFINITELY the result of the team getting hot at the right time) and has gone 1-4 otherwise.

It seems to me Aaron Rodgers deserves blame, just like any other QB would take. There is no question Kaepernick outplayed Rodgers. Rodgers made bad decision, held the ball too long resulting in sacks and had a mediocre passing game. I think it's time he takes his blame too.
