NFL Football LD, 2013/14 Season

Are you fucking dense?

Thats what I said. That is exactly what happened. I have never one time highlighted a single player. It was a general football statement.

Though this damn sure does not help the things people say about Peyton Manning.

You quoted a statement that I made about Manning in regards to facing a specifically tough defense with success. So, whether or not you began with a general football comment...I evolved the conversation into one about Peyton, a single player, historically. That's why I made the comment about Peyton regarding this outcome.

And you're right on all accounts regarding the Denver offense. A terrible performance. A display of total ineptitude. Seattle shut the offense down completely, and they made Manning look very old.

Reverse jinx paid off. I've said at least a half dozen times I used to live in Tacoma. Incredible performance. Defense wins championships, baby.

As Jake Roberts can attest, Arrogance can be blinding.

Note to next year's haughty fanbase that has a date with a hard-hitting buzzsaw: don't write checks your team can't cash.

I'm happy for Russell hustle and bustle man muscle Wilson. Dude is very likeable. Game was boring unless your rooting interest was for the winner. The Denver offense looked shellshocked. That Seattle secondary is scary. Here's to another NFL season that came and went too fast.

Oh, and fuck you Wes Welker.

The AFC sucks ass, period.

I do have to say this has been a bit more predictable of a postseason. The AFC has blown giant chunks, and the only two teams that really stood at among the rest were Denver and New England. It was obvious to me one of those two teams were going to the Super Bowl.

The NFC is stacked right now with talented teams. Seattle was the best one, and they easily could have lost one of their postseason games more specifically the one to San Francisco. Had the 49ers been in this game would they have defeated the Broncos? Tough call because the Seattle defense is what really showed last night, but the 49ers have the second best in the league and while it may not have been as one sided I think the 49ers still would have won. In fact I think the Saints would have won this game too. Panthers, Eagles, and Packers it's too hard to say I think the Broncos would have been able to match up better with one of those teams.

Even New England wasn't that good.

Quite frankly, if KC and the refs didn't fuck up against San Diego in the last game of the season, I sincerely believe we would have gotten Pittsburgh vs. Seattle 2 in the Super Bowl this year. Pittsburgh was on fire towards the end of the season and I just think they would have been been able to shut down both New England and Denver. They also would have put up a much better fight against Seattle today than Denver did (although I think Seattle would have still won)

All that said, the good (or maybe bad depending how you look at it) thing about the NFL is that it truly changes from year-to-year. This Seahawks team isn't going to be around for 2 more years. Most of these guys are still on their rookie contracts and the cap being what it is, Seattle just won't be able to afford to keep them. And it's damn near impossible to strike gold twice in the NFL with perfect drafting and FA signings like Seattle has done since Pete Carroll first arrived a couple of years ago.

Oh, and by the way, this happened on Twitter. Greatness recognizes greatness.

I thought the same thing about Pittsburgh being in the playoffs. There is no doubt that they would have beaten Cincinnati just like San Diego did, but I think once they would have gone to Denver it probably would have been a loss. It's tough to say because Denver did not play all that well that week even against San Diego, but at the same time San Diego and Denver match up well because they're divisional teams. Keep in mind though Steelers FS Ryan Clark can't play in Denver so that's immediately something working against the Steelers.

Had they managed to get past Denver however then I think they would have beaten New England, and then like you said ultimately lost to Seattle. Pittsburgh is definitely going to be one of my favorite teams to keep an eye on next season though. I think they're going to get back into their old groove, and with the cupcake schedule I saw they have it looks like they shouldn't have a lot of trouble.

It's true, Pittsburgh and Baltimore are the only AFC teams worth a damn. "Iron sharpens iron." When they're dull, the AFC's edge is non-existant.

Given that I don't get to see any NFL games outside of the Super Bowl (though a couple of games did air the other week but I missed them), and this is probably the third Super Bowl I've seen now, it was such a brilliant win for the Seahawks. This is also the first game I've properly been invested in as last year's game with the 49ers and Ravens was good but I still didn't fully understand the rules, so I was learning while still being a neutral. But this year's game really sold the NFL to me, and certainly sold the Seahawks because with game play like that, it's hard not to like them. But then one game doesn't guarantee a team is good as this is the Seahawks' first ever win.

Hopefully when the new season starts after I have moved to the States, I shall be able to enjoy a full season of NFL and get a better perspective of things. Unless someone can recommend a good Madden NFL game to play to follow things?
