New Record For The Miz..

C.K.O.

Occasional Pre-Show
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that The Miz is now the first person in more than two years to pass 100 days as WWE Champion. Triple H was the last person to reach this number. Since then, the title has changed hands 16 times and was vacated once.

My question: Has anyone even noticed? or in that matter care? Will this be another self boast The Miz will use to keep himself from being overshadowed by Cena/Rock making it not matter at ALL to the fans? Your thoughts

The fact that the title hasn't gone back to Cena yet is still mind blowing.
Since it feels like the title switches in EVERY SINGLE FEUD for the title.
Still can't believe it's been over 3 months. Seems like an eternity by today's standards.

100 days of pure crap. Nothing to celebrate here. What are creative smoking, cuz it most be really good ? 100 days and what did Mike show for it. A boring ass feud with Orton that seemed to go on way too long with no clean wins. And a pointless feud against an old man who shouldnt even be wrestling, which only served to protect Miz from the chamber and him look even less intimidating as champ. Who cares that he beat Lawler cleanly. He is supposed to. Miz is like 30 and Lawler is 60 ! Yes I know Miz apologists will say he beat morrison or Bryan on some episode of raw. Wow, do they get excited pointing it out. Honestly only Miz asswipers will remember that three months from now, plus how big of a deal is that anyway. Miz's PPV matches have been mediocre. His promos in building feuds have been mediocre. Why are you forcing this guy down people's throat, Vince ? The guy dosent draw and his matches blow. End this emberrasment already.

i don't care.i mean that is a good amount of time to hold the belt these days.considering he really hasn't done anything while holding it takes away from that imo.i mean just last month he defended it against Jerry Lawler for christ sakes.his title reign is reminding me so much of sheamus title reign.

wow I didn't realize the title has changed hands so many times. #17 is on the way because most know Cena will win at Wrestlemania... blah.
I think it's pretty sad that 100 days is considered an accomplishment. I wish it would go back to the old days were the champion would hold the belt for a year or so with a lot of good feuds (instead of 2 or 3). oh the good old days.

I think it shows the wwe is really stupid these days. Back in the days you really solidified a champ by having him hold the strap for awhile.these days you would be lucky to hold it for a month. But on topic, I really don't care for the miz and his title reign. He hasn't really been entertaining in his promos or matches and its not getting any better. Congrats miz on a 100 day reign that has mediocre written all over it

he just isnt main event material period. Cant wrestle, and people are seeing that when compared to the Rock and Cena, he just mediocre on the mic. I think they just put the title on him to make him look legit, but seeing as the only guy hes legitemately beaten is J Morrison, hes far from it. For goodness sakes, he needed help from Michael Cole to defeat Jerry Lawler. I can almost guarantee he will lose the title at Mania.

Congrats, Miz! That's 100 days that boring dipshit John Cena hasn't bored the hell out of me with his 2-move set of crap on RAW.

I really really hope the writers let Miz upset idiot Cena at 'Mania. It would be the rare 'surprise' from WWE, seeing how everything is pointing to that talentless hack John Cena predictably winning the strap back and returning to bore the hell out of me every monday nite.

"You can't see me!", he says. If only that were true and I truly didn't have to see Cena anymore. The guy sux.

Congrats again to the Miz, the best heel champ of the past few years.

So what. I means nothing, as he's only keeping the title warm for Cena. He hasn't built the title up, and I do believe the angles he's involved haven't even been the main focus of the show at any point during his title run.

Doesn't seem that long. During the Lawler feud, when Miz came on the tv I would change channel. He is so dull it is ridiculous. I think he is trying for that monotone type thing Jericho does, but it isn't working That promo with him and Cena last week was terrible. No matter who wins at WM, it is a sort of pick your poison scenario.

Miz is the heel Cena in terms of how he is a work horse and get alot of flack from fans. One important thing they share is the passion and love for the biz. Miz deserves a reign to make him a permanent main event threat so hopefully he goes over Cena. And began a fued with morrison which I wouldnt mind seeing but it would b nice to see that feud end at the next WM

This was also back when a company wasn't trying to sell 12 PPVs a year. While I'll agree that Miz's in-ring work is generally boring, you can't deny that the dude can deliver on the stick. A great example would be last week. While it certainly wasn't Rock-level, I thought he held his own in the war of words. That promo was certainly a cut above "mediocre."

who created this myth that Miz is a work horse ? If he is a work horse because he wrestles every week on raw (which he dosent ) R-Truth, Bryan, and Dibiase must be work horses too. Mark Henry must be work horse too. He has been doing it for 13+ years. Please guy, Miz got a pretty easy ride to the top since his singles push after dirt sheet team broke up. He wasnt over and was given the US title. Probably fought Kofi once or twice, and seemingly did nothing else without for the next month ot two he had it. But I guess he couldnt defend it because he was too busy carrying the tag-titles with show, who just finished teaming with Y2J. Jerishow ? Mizshow ? Yeah WWE, really groundbreaking stuff there eh ? Then you had him lose the US belt a 50+ Bret Hart, just to win it back and lose it again within a month or so. Then MITB. Where along the way were the great matches, performances, big wins, defining moments. I pretty much see a wrestling skill level that hasnt improved much since his ECW days in 2007, and mic skills that have improved in the sense that appears more natural or polished but his material is still pretty weak. Not very creative or edgy, bland childish pg heel top to bottom.

If he is a workhorse because he is a media hog for the wwe that doesnt do a whole lot for me. That dosent equal him performing better in the ring or increasing the entertainment value of the product. I dont care if Cena does it too, I dont watch the show because I appreciate that they try to promote their business, as they should be expected to. I watch to be entertained. Maybe instead of spending their time twittering and facebooking they should better strategize how to make their matches better and more entertaining.

I can't believe you people are saying it's been boring and mediocre. I have been loving his stuff. I have loved the promos he has been cutting. I also think he has improved in the ring. He came out on top in the Orton feud. Lawler is STILL good in the ring, so that's fine even if he is 61. The Miz has been a fighting champion and has been much, MUCH better than the first reign of Punk or Swagger and has been MUCH better than Swagger's reign. Did you guys want the Miz to have that sort of reign? I know I didn't. The Miz is Awesome. People saying he can't draw but I have seen pro Miz signs and I have seen Miz T-Shirts from several people in the crowd. Not to mention I'm gonna be getting my hands on a Miz T-Shirt real soon myself. Maybe he can't draw you but he's drawing me.

I'm extremely happy for the Miz. He was EXCELLENT tonight in his showing. Definitely a mark out moment and I'm hoping for an outside chance it happens at Wrestlemania.

What started off as an excellent title run, where Miz was the focus of RAW has turned into something lacklustre and is really hurting the Miz. I really don't blame the Miz, as he has been delivering when he is being showcased and really performs when the spotlight is on him, but I blame this on creative for not allowing himself to be more showcased to the fans with his title run. His Wrestlemania match with John Cena is being completely overshadowed by the return of The Rock and his verbal war with John Cena.

I am very surprised Miz has remained champion for 100 days. His reign has not taken off at all in the way I expected.

I initially thought the 1st month would be a struggle but eventually people would accept him as the champ, but the entire thing has been lacklustre so far. He isn't booked as a main player on the shows, he isnt made out to be the main guy on the roster, he is a secondary character with the world title.

I fully expect Cena to take the belt at WM, as pretty much everyone else does. I do think the reign has helped The Miz become more accepted as a main eventer, but not as a champion yet. A new 1st time champion should not be feuding with an announcer

I just don'T get how people can hate the Miz that much, I guess it's a matter of opinion. But to me since his first "feud" with Cena I've rooted for the guy. He is amazing on the mic and yesterday he proved it again. The guy can wrestle, he even made us care for a Jerry Lawler match and that's a miracle on it's own.

He is always improving and wants to improve. Whether you like it or not a guy who does lot of media appearance for your company is a guy that you want to reward, but the guy is really entertaining.

I was agreeing that Miz was forgotten in the Rock and Cena feud but boy did he propulse himself on top of the feud yesterday. He is now the focus of that feud again imo, but we will see next week.

I wouldn't say this is an achievement for the Miz, but more of an under-achievement for the champions before him.

How can you not hold a damn championship for 3 months and expect to be viewed as a credible champion?

Though, Miz hasn't exactly done much with it. He HAS feuded with Orton and Cena for the title, and if he walks out of Mania the champ then that's a great accolade for him.

Considering that the champions before the Miz were mostly Cena and Orton, I wouldn't say it's an underachievement since they've long been established as credible champions. I don't really care that he's the longest reigning champion in two years especially the timeframe in which he did it. Other than 2009, you don't really see world titles changing hands with such frequency between the months of January and April.

I noticed it but it's not necessarily something to throw a parade for.

Of course, as usual, the thread is piled with hate for the guy despite the fact that he's responsible for making the WWE Championship picture more interesting than it's probably be in over 2 years. The Miz has built the title up in my view because, as I've said before, he has people talking and debating and generally discussing the WWE Championship picture. One way or another, like Miz or hate him, people very much care about the title scene and that's the single most important job the World Champion has and Miz has pulled that off beautifully.

I've said time and time again that the expectations of the IWC in general seems unrealistic and, after reading some of these posts, it's as true as ever. People want longer title reigns but bitch and moan when they have them. When John Cena was WWE Champion for over a year, there were constant criticisms and complaints that the title should be taken off of him. When Orton got a World Championship or Triple H did and they held it for a while, it was the same damn thing you heard with John Cena. A lot of fans, especially internet fans, don't have the patience for champs to have really long runs. The title has to be defended as often as they want, the matches all have to be up to their vision of quality, every feud has to be an epic and every promo solid gold. And, surprise surprise, since it never comes of EXACTLY that way, the whining starts. A lot of internet fans want instant gratification and complain when they don't get it.

I find it funny that Miz has held his title for this period of time when, at the beginning, people were calling him a transitional champion whereas internet favorites like Jeff Hardy & Mr. Anderson have had extraordinarily weak runs and have been transitional champs in TNA. Of course, since they're beloved by the net, you rarely hear them get a tenth of criticisms Miz has gotten despite having a stronger single run than theirs put together.

I don't like The Miz. I don't think he's main event material, and I certainly don't think he is championship material.

That being said, if they do decide to feature him at this level, I just wish they would boost him somewhat. Being a "beatable champion" is one thing, but at the same time the audience has to believe that the guy is a threat and deserves to be champ.

Miz hasn't beaten any big names cleanly. For somebody to have held the belt that long, and been in as many title matches as he has, that's just wrong. The only legit win he has is over Jerry Lawler. That says something.

If WWE wants us to take him seriously, they will have to feed him some main eventers. The wins don't have to be 100% clean, he is a heel after all, but they need to be decisive and valid. Give him Cena, give him Orton, hell give him HHH. All of these guys can survive a clean loss without being tarnished. WWE has been way too protective with their top faces lately. Hell, have him go over in a champion vs champion match with Edge. Give the audience a reason to think that he deserves to be where he is, and is a legitimate threat.

He'll still be the lamest heel champion this decade, but at least he won't feel so horribly out of place.
