NCAA Football LD 2012-2013 Season

Excellence of Execution
Mizzou trailing #1 Alabama 28-10, meaning they are playing much better than I ever thought they would, especially since Mizzou has numerous injuries to starters, including starting QB and star player James Franklin.

GAME OVER!!!

Notre Dame run stopped Stanford TWICE on the 1 inch line. Awesome! I'm wore out from celebrating.

The Notre Dame/Standford game was awesome. I thought Brian Kelly made a huge mistake playing so conservatively at the end of regulation, but it all worked out for the best. Notre Dame's defense is simply spectacular.

I don't. It had been raining all day. Rees had only thrown a pass or two and he had had a lot of turnover issues last year. The last thing you need is to throw the ball into coverage, have a receiver slip and lose the game. The Irish ran the ball well in the second half, their ground game is definitely their MO on offense, so you go with the girl you brought to the dance.

ND's defense is top flight. And their secondary has been playing well also, which was the biggest concern coming into this season.

Also, my dad and his wife was at the game. They left about halfway through the 4th quarter because the rain was about to pound the stadium hard, and it's a long drive home. I would still be kicking myself if I had left early. I'll actually be there next weekend though against BYU. Looking forward to seeing an undefeated, Top 5 ranked team in Notre Dame!

In hindsight, it was definitely the right call. I just remember thinking at the time that college football overtime is just too risky for you not to try and win the game if you have the chance to. But you're right... settling for the field goal was definitely the right thing to do.

Wow... that sucks. At that age I'm sure they're at though, you can't blame them.

Awesome. I hope it's a great game and you have a blast.

Especially when you're at home. If they had been on the road, it would certainly be something you'd have to STRONGLY consider.

Early 50s for both of them. And I guess. I just know I wouldn't have been happy. :)

Awesome. I hope it's a great game and you have a blast.
I hope it's an ND blowout and I have blast. Thanks for your best wishes though!

Notre Dame looking tough right now. We need to put some points on the board on this drive, even three points, and get a little breathing room. I think we'll wear Oklahoma's defense down, like we've done the last few weeks to other opponents.

Oklahoma scored a TD and now they're having to kick a field goal? Not an extra point but a field goal? Was there ever an announcement of a penalty?

Holding.

JR could be seen walking in the background during Stoops' interview as the teams went to the locker rooms.

By the way, how about that Mizzou vs. Kentucky game?

....nevermind, it's not really something that can be gloated about. Both teams are mediocre or worse.

My cousin is a diehard Tennessee fan. Last Christmas I was going to make fun of him all day, but it occurred to me that we're now 1-26 in the last 27 years against them. Bragging about beating Tennessee would be a lower form of that: if we win twice in the next 15 games, I'll be very impressed.

Yep, this game is in the bag. Awesome win for Notre Dame. If people didn't believe they were legit before, they definitely have to believe now.

They just dominated Oklahoma. I'm not talking score, I'm talking physicality.

Oh yeah, the Marcus Lattimore injury is sick. My dad told me he broke his femur, tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and LCL. So basically, he broke the biggest bone in the human body, and completely destroyed his knee. Have to feel for the kid.

It's going to be real interesting at the end of the season if Oregon, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Kansas State are all undefeated.
As a HUGE Notre Dame fan, I still say Alabama and Oregon are definitely the two best teams in the country. They should be the two to play in the national championship game.

With that being said, if your scenario happens, I'd love for them to just go ahead and put in the playoff this year. Ratings would be through the roof. You'd have the North, South, Midwest and West all in contention. You'd have two of the biggest programs in football history (ND and Alabama), as well as the "plucky underdog" in K-State and the yearly western representative in Oregon.

Crazy thing is I think my scenario has a very good chance of happening. Up to this point, I think Kansas State has had the best schedule beating Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. Oregon has the hardest schedule down the road and as I type this, Oregon State is losing to Washington. I think USC losing hurts Notre Dame more than it does Oregon.
