The National Semifinals are set for this Saturday.

This is the 3rd Final Four without a #1 seed (1980, 2006 [Remember George Mason?]). Also, as far as I know, this is the 1st Final Four without a #1 OR #2 seed. Don't take my word for part 2, though.

I'm going to go with UConn and Butler in the finals with UConn winning it all. The Huskies match up very well with the rest of their opponents and they also happen to have the best player left in the tourney in Kemba Walker. I still wouldn't be surprised at all if Butler won it all because they certainly have the experience factor in their favor and will not be intimidated.

I disagree. Not that those two teams aren't the more athletic and would be the favorites, but I think both teams would be susceptible to being beaten by Butler.

Butler is a team that is about execution. The reason they didn't beat Duke last year is because Duke is also a team that is all about execution, and they were just better athletes/players. That's not going to be true of UConn or Kentucky. Neither of these teams win because they just execute their gameplan better, they win because they're more athletic and/or more skilled than the teams they play.


I think Kentucky or UConn would be a clear favorite against VCU, but not so much against Butler.

Sorry Sly totally respect your opinion, but the huskies will win it all just because they have the momentum right now. Butler does also have 13 wins in a row but overall the huskies are the better team along with their win streak.

**For the record you are right about the #1 and #2 seed. This is the first year since seeding began where there is no #1 or #2 seed in the tournament.

As for predictions I say Butler over Uconn. I'm rooting for the lower seeds, so I say whoever wins Butler vs. VCU will win it all. It would be pretty funny seeing VCU as number 1 in the polls when the final rankings come out, but still you have to love the run they've had. Many exports thought that they shouldn't have even been in the tournament over teams like Colorado(who did get robbed), and St. Mary's. Now, they're in the final 4, what a miracle run by them, defiantly at least matches George Mason's run back in 2006. I love March Madness!!

I am voting for UConn based on my brackets, however personally I have always been happy for Kentucky's sucess. So I am excited for a great game, and in most cases would be for Kentucky just this year I am going for UConn due to personal gains.

shooting a 3 is fine, if it's a wide open look, but a contested 3, you're better off driving to the hoop and getting a higher percentage shot.

Well, I lost the ESPN.com group to IndyJon. Too bad. At least my UConn prediction is still true, and at least Kemba Walker is still the best player in the tournament.
