My PS3 Got YLOD

I don't think it happens with new ones, but it happens in older models. Albeit rarely. Mine's an original 60 GB, second time I got it.

Sony is pretty good though, I'm on my second PS2, the first one last for ever before taking a crap, including taking a few dumps of tables & TV stands over the years.
 
I'm on my 3rd 360 right now, the first one's DVD drive took a shit two weeks after I bought it so I got it replaced under warranty. The second one had some other issue two weeks after my warranty was over (not the RROD but some other hardware failure), this one I'm on now is one of the newer white models and I've been told they don't have the RROD issues.

My PS3 slim is still going strong.
 
I'm so sorry for your lose. Hang in there, you have to realize that these things happen, it could still never, never bring your PS3 back.

it happened to mine, I had just sold my 360 a week before hand because I didn't need two consoles... the 360 in question? Is still fucking running... UGH.


but I two am also consoleless for another two weeks four days. debating on what to get. the ps3's just had a massive price drop so I might go with one of them. $300 instead of $500
 
This just happened to my PS3 a few weeks ago (80GB model). From what I have read it is pretty fixable crock. There are even do it yourself videos on youtube. It isn't really a permanent fix though. It is certainly tempting to just get the $250 dollar model without the heat issue.
 
I would sell you mine for a deep discount if I still had it, but I unfortunately traded that shit in once I got done with Yakuza 4. Are there any PS3 exclusives coming out soon that will make me regret my decision? I don't see anything good coming out in the near future (save for the fifth zombie-inspired Yakuza game, but that just got released in Japan and probably won't hit the States for another two years).
 
If you're a fan of Rockstar games, they're developing a game called "Agent" that's a PS3 exclusive, but I have no clue when that will be out, a year, two years, who knows. They're being so quiet about it.

Oh, I know, but mine has already been fixed once. The guy who did it told me that after the first fix it's best to just get a new one. I have a good deal, though. Trade in this one, get a brand new slim for $170 and he throws all my memory off the old one onto the new one.

Wow mine still works great and I got it when it came out
