Movies you refuse to watch

Today I finally got around to reading my DirectTv magazine for this month, and splattered everywhere throughout it was promotion for the film Obsessed, which premiered on Pay-Per-View this month. And I thought to myself, I will never, ever lower myself to watch this trash. To me, it just looks like the worst big budget movie ever created, even though I am a fan of some of Ali Larter's other work.

So, this got me thinking, what are some other movies out there I never watched, just because it looked so bad, or because I found something just too offensive to sit through it? As I ponder this, I ask you the same question. What are movies that you have never, and will never watch, and why is that so?

I refuse to watch Twilight.
I'm told by random emo girls how it's the greatest film ever created. But I'm told by my friends and my brother that it's stupid beyond reason.
I have to go with the latter. I mean, it's a vampire love story. It seems like the worst thought out plot for a movie ever.
On top of the that, I hear the acting is crap, the dialogue is crap and there's going to be 2 sequels of this crap. I can't take another 4 or so years of emo girls talking about how amazing it is when the vampire has sex with the human cause they're both such troubled souls or whatever.

There's some things that just shouldn't be made into movies. A vampire love story is right up there with Sex and the City.

No movie, besides perhaps the obvious Twilight. But i think there are plenty of movies that are just bad purely based on the concept of them. If you weren't a fan of the books then obviously you aren't going to go see the Twilight movie nor any of its inherent sequels. however, there is one story that I think will be marred quite brutally by Hollywood and that is...

Alice In Wonderland. Oh great, another Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter Circle Jerk. they've turned this beautiful childrens classic that little kids should be able to go out and enjoy and turned it into another dark, gothic weird piece of crap. It's supposed to take place ten years down the track from the original story. Here's the problem I have with it though. Alice isn't keyed in to be the main focus of the story the Mad Hatter is. Not only is that completely bullshit, but also, Depp is playing The Mad Hatter. Burton could just film a movie with Depp sitting on a stool for 90 minutes if he wanted to sate his Johnny fetish. Why marr this movie, by making Alice in Wonderland where Alice isnt the main fucking character?

I don't usually have a problem with Tim Burton and I think he's a an okay director. But this is just sucks. Oh well, if you don't like something, don't watch it.

Top Gun. I don't really have a reason for it. It's just one of those movies that people talk about and I say "Yeah, I've never seen that" and people go "OMGWTF!!!" and start telling me how insane I am for never having seen it.

At this point, I just enjoy the uniqueness of being one of the few people that have never, and will never watch that particular movie. I mean, I know enough about it via osmosis from various conversations to know the entire plot anyway, and it doesn't even seem like something I'd like.

The first two that come to mind are these:

Thunderbirds: I know it's a childhood flick, but this is a film based on possibly my favourite television show as a kid. I saw the images of the uniforms, the crafts and cast and I seriously thought WTF?! I refuse to watch it because I know it will ruin my memories of a great tv show, I'm suprised how Jonathan Frakes of all people directed this!

St. Trinians: Reason is similiar to the Thunderbirds issue, I love the originals. But I was very much tempted to watch it cause people told me it was good but the one thing that stopped me from watching it Russell F***ing Brand as Flash Harry. My favourite character in the series is played by the one person I hate the most in the world of tv. I just cannot watch anything with Russell Brand in, especially if he's playing a favorite character of mine made famous by the legend George Cole! I might watch it if I have his scenes removed!

Holy shit! I was going to say that. In fact I came into this thread with the intention of bashing that movie. Rep for you.

I hear from every angle how good this movie is by little emo girls and I just think what a waste of an hour and a half it would be if I watched. In truth, I had heard glittering reviews of that movie so much that I actually downloaded it. Thankfully though, I decided against ot and immediately deleted it. The only thing that bothers me about it is that you never hear someone like me, say that it was a good movie. I mean someone who doesn't cut themselves or cry themselves to sleep at night. This movie is just another one ina long line of movies that people think are all deep and meaningful just because one of the dudes in it is a vampire and is still capable of love or some other bullshit. It goes further because now people are reading the books, which may be better but I still don't want to fucking hear about it. It's depressing!

This movie is a no-go and if you watch it, you will be no better than them. Get out the razor blades and the kleenex because you are going to turn into one of them, it's how they work.

As for the vampire love thing though Blade, I seem to remember a pretty successful TV show that practically centred around the love of a vampire and even had a pretty nifty spin-off about a vampire. Just sayin'.

I was going to mention this as well lol. That reminds me, need to my review of Season 2.

But at least that love story was abit more belieivable to the fact that she could never truly love him because he will always turn bad otherwise. Pretty kick arse if anything!

Surveys says:

Twilight. When I pay to see a vampire movie, I want to see some blood, a great story, and maybe a death or 12. I don't want to sit on my couch with some soda and Doritos, and have a gang of fucking sparkling pixies run across my screen. I was deadset against ever watching it for a long time, and then I saw Let The Right One In, and was really against ever seeing it.

Other than that, I'll truly see just about anything. I've even seen shitpieces like Undead and The JackHammer Massacre.

I still have yet to watch a single Uwe Boll film- Bloodrayne, Bloodrayne 2 (I wonder what it is about bad vampire films ? :) ), House of the Dead or any of the others that he has made. The shop I work in (DVD rental) seems to have a strange facination in getting all of them in (maybe they are really cheap :p ). Part of me thinks that it might be funny to see one just to see how bad it would get, but then another part of me values my time :) Of course I shouldn't really criticse Mr Boll- he has a habit of challenging his critics to boxing matches.....

The one series of films that I would absolutely rufuse to see ever would be any of the Hostel films. Not only do I stay in Hostels while abroad, but I really don't like horror (I was petrified in the cinema for What lies beneath- and its only a 15 and not even meant to be that scary), and gratuitous torture porn isn't really up my street either.

On the point Dexter said- I havn't seen any of the Godfather films, Back to the future films, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream, or American History X (all meant to be teenage staples)- but thats not through dislike, and I know most of them are meant to be really good. Just havn't for some reason. :)

You know, I'm not going to lie, when Twilight premieres on HBO or Starz or whatever, I probably will check that out. I mean, Kristin Stewart after all is a wonderful actress (if you haven't seen Into the Wild yet, do so now). That, plus the hype, is enough reason for me to at least check it out. I'm not expecting Let the Right One In kind of good, but I'm sure it's okay from an unbiased perspective. If it's shit, then oh well.

Anyway, let's see.... I'll never, ever watch a Family Guy movie. I know there are plans right now for them to make one. That's a big no no for me. But speaking of television shows made into film, Sex and the City is another one. Never watched one episode of that shitty show, and I'll never watch the movie either.

Star Wars... didn't like the first one or Return of the Jedi, so I never watched any of the sequels or prequels, and never will. I appreciate what those movies mean to the film industry, but man do I find that shit incredibly boring.

Also, I swore myself to never watch anything Star Trek related again once my plder sister moved out of mom's house all those years ago. I use to have to sit through that shit every night, and fuck did I hate it. However, when the new movie comes on pay-per-view, I must admit... I'm going to eat my words and check that shit out. A fucking 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes is a good enough reason for me to see it.

Anything with Ingrid Bergman in it or anything directed by Roberto Rossellini, I'm just a prig like that. Of course, I could care less what someone does if they're good at what they do, but Ingrid Bergman is extremely overrated as an actress and Roberto Rossellini, in my opinion, just flat out sucked as a director...I can't believe people have the nerve to compare him to Fellini or De Sica! Shame on them!

There may be a few other movies that I refuse to watch (or re-watch), but, I'd have to think about it. Oh, I refuse to watch Manderlay, because I hear they kill an animal in it. I'm a huge animal lover, but I may have overlooked it if Lars Von Trier was worth a shit as a director.

I will never watch the new Fast and Furious. I thought the first one was a ripoff of Point Blank, which I hate. I watched half of the second one, and thought it was trash. I never saw the third one, and the fourth one is about the furthest thing off of my radar.

I don't mind Paul Walker or Vin Diesel/ Some of their movies are good. I think Michelle Rodriguez is trash though.

Both films are utter crap, I havent watch St.Trinians, my sister in laws love it and they know shit about movies, also russel brand, he plays the idiot well because he is one, the guy needs to be shot in the head with something anything!!!

And Thunderbirds i had the inane pleasure of watching two minutes before turning the damn thing off AVOID WITH PREJUDICE!

Another one for me would have to be the worst film I avoid like the plague Wild Child (2008 film) that film is absolutely beyond crap I would rather insert something huge into my head then watching it, I hate little kiddie love stories where some stupid girl ends up in love with some little dick head whose balls havent dropped yet, its damn annoying and insults my intelligence, would never in my life watch it!.

as for more i have a long list and will post accordingly....

I never plan on watching the Star Wars prequels (besides the 1st episode, which I've already seen). To me, I hate the nerd-ism that it brought out even more, I thought episode one sucked, badly, and it sold out the original movies by just milking the cow for extra money. Every time I tell someone I hadn't seen the 2 latest films they freak out on me. That's when I feel like kicking people in the balls.

Transformers. - I have heard that both Transformer movies are great. In fact, I've never heard anyone say anything negative about them. But the movie is just not the same. I loved Transformers when I was a kid. My brother and I had every one of those fucking toys. I wanna see the Transformers I remember and loved. I don't want to see it in HD with all kinds of crazy technology. Give me the cartoon and I'm happy. Or the action figures. I still can't believe my mom threw them all away....

High School Musical.

Jesus fucking Christ, just looking at what it's about makes me want to cry. It looks plain awful, and having seen a few clips.. it is just plain shit. It's a bunch of 18 year olds running around singing, thinking they're good at it. No. You're shit, and you're shit actors. Get that movie burned.

I refuse to watch any of the Lord of the Rings movies all the way to the end. Okay, not really. My body refuses to let me watch any of the Lord of the Rings movies all the way to the end. I get so bored that I fall asleep. Every single time. I'm willing to give a lot of movies a chance, and these are no different. I tried. I really fucking did. It's not my fault they kick my ass every single time.

I won't say Twilight. I have no intention of running out and seeing it, but I don't want to be a massive cliché.

I will have to say Brokeback Mountain would be one, I know its an academy award nominated movie but it's just not interesting to me. Two men hiding their sexuality in Montana, sounds pretty tame to me. Maybe if it came out 20 years ago. I have no interest in watching the Donnie Darko remake either.

I have learned that straight to DVD sequels need to be left alone. I learned that the hard way after watching American Psycho 2. I honestly can't bring myself to watch any WWE films movie. I watched See No Evil and vowed never again to watch another film made by WWE. Also, any Disney movie involving Miley Cyrus or Zack Efron is off limits.

If it begins with "Tyler Perry's", I wont watch it. Matter of fact, anything with the premise being a fat black woman who's really a black guy in a fat suit. Maybe it's a cultural difference, but I really don't see the appeal. I have no desire to watch a flick in which the jokes can be seen from fucking six miles away. Big Momma's House, any of the Madea flicks. I'd rather stick my balls in a juice maker.

You should still see these (first one was good, didn't see the second although I heard it was mind numbingly dumb). The new movies will never replace the originals and watching them won't take those memories away.

I can't watch the Notebook. I tried once, while I was ill with the flu, and I fell asleep. Maybe it was the illness, but it made me sleepy.

Absolutely not. I will not and cannot make myself watch either of these movies. First of all, there is a chance it will erase all of the fond memories I have of Transformer. What if I start picturing giant digitally enhanced
a truck instead of my loveable cartoon version? I can't take chances.

As you should know, this is one of my all time favorite movies. Call WP, tell her we're all going to watch a movie. I'll bring the movie if you make sure you have an endless supply of tissues. I cry pretty much non stop through the second half of this movie.

To be sure you will never forget, I will buy you the animated series on DVD. Because I am awesome.

I am well aware that this is one of your favorites. I will watch this with you and WP, if she must be there(she was there the first time I tried to watch it a few months back,so she has seen it), but only if you watch Transformers. But you are not allowed to ever see me cry and if you do, mark it on your calendar.
