I'm actually thinking they'll go ahead and try to find a way to justify the Diaz/McGregor fight for a big-money PPV. Once the first two minutes of them stalking around waiting for the other to punch first were over, it'd be a really good fight. Both are talented counterstrikers, Diaz is probably more comfortable in the clinch and on the ground, but McGregor definitely works better at range. McGregor would likely handle business more than adequately, and Diaz isn't the toughest fight out there for him, but the UFC gave up on matching the best against the best back with Tito Ortiz dodging Chuck Liddell.

Not that the quality of the fight would be a factor in the UFC's decision. There would be a shitload of money in having these two trash talk each other for a couple months.
