MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

Tate goes for the takdown and Rousey nails the judo throw.

Tate looks best while wrestling and she can't do that against Rousey. Tate has had two chances to figure Rousey out and she failed both times. Holm was the perfect style to defeat Ronda and Tate was the perfect style to defeat Holm. Unfortunately Tate doesn't go well against the style of fighter that Rousey is.

He probably gave him a concussion with that first big blow of the final exchange. Clean and powerful right on the jaw, and you could tell Connor was in a total fog. Sleep walking the rest of the way til he got put away

Awesome, awesome, AWESOME performance from Nate! Could not be happier for him and his brother.

Literally the first thing I thought about when I saw the headline that Diaz beat Conor was "Man, JMT must be ecstatic". The Diaz boys always remind me of you.

:)

Love those guys, man. Especially Nick. I really hope that was the beginning of a great run for them both.

Diaz vs. McGregor II is apparently happening at UFC 200. Dumb as fuck decision. McGregor is the 145 Champion and should have to defend the belt against Frankie. If he's taking a rematch against Nate then he should be forced to vacate the title instead of holding an entire division hostage.

The only reason why I see these two fighting again is so UFC can try and get Connors dick hard again. Diaz has literally no reason to be in this fight. He just beat the hottest fighter on this planet only to face him again. It wasn't even like Aldo and Mcgreggor when only one punch was thrown which means a rematch could of easily been shown. Diaz should be fighting for a title or at least a #1 contendership. As a Diaz fan I don't want to see this again.

Aldo McGreggor just makes so much sense it's ridiculous. Fight ends in one punch and the guy that loses is fact, one of the greatest fighters to grace the cage and the guy that wins claims to be. Aldo would seriously destroy Connor, I want to see that.

But to add onto your vacate the title argue many. I totally agree. This fight makes 0 sense. Maybe in 10 years it does but both these guys now have their own division to worry about.

Man, words can't describe my seething rage about Connor vs Diaz 2. This is the EXACT reason MMA and the UFC won't be seen as a true sport. It's because they have a giant bias in who they let choose their fights. You're effectively putting an entire fucking division on hold so the golden boy can "avenge" his loss. Meanwhile, Frankie has nearly cleared the division on route to a title shot, and the greatest Featherweight of all time, the guy who has beaten everybody in the division, one of the top 5 greatest fighters of all time gets caught with one punch in his entire reign, and is put to the wayside while Connor ignores his belt and division in order to promote himself. It's so fucking rediculous. Meanwhile, the most one dimensional champion the UFC has had since the dark ages gets an immediate rematch. They play fucking favorites and it's disgusting. I would bet they totally ignore Aldo for a while, make him jump through hoops to get back into contention, all because he spoke out about the blatant money issues that come with being a lesser name. Now that he's not under the protection of having a belt, they're going to fucking bury him. Makes me sick.

But hey, at least we're in fucking New York now

I mean....

What about that last fight indicated he could beat Diaz? Not much to me. He got smoked.

SURELY he is two losses from being finished? SURELY him losing 2 straight to Diaz can not be a good thing?

The constant rematches in the UFC have killed my interest as of late. A few places, mainly Sherdog, have been trying to say the rematch makes perfect sense, but outside of some good punches in round one, McGregor looked outmatched.

Like was said, at least New York passed their bill today. Events as MSG should be a riot.

I wish Conor was defending at 145, but I think there's at least hope that a fight at the proper weight class would be a more even affair. McGregor really looked fine in that fight until one big shot from Diaz tagged him, which can definitely be a factor of the massive jump to welterweight. Conor's just not built for that kind of power. At 15 pounds lighter I think Conor's odds at least go up somewhat.
