MMA in the Bar room!! *In memorium of JMT and TDigs' thread*

Conor McGregor is getting the title shot against Eddie Alvarez in New York. What a joke.

Hopefully Eddie wins.

But Dana said Conor was injured. He also said that Conor-Aldo was happening next and he said if Connor doesn't defend his belt that he'll be stripped of it. Are you telling me Dana lied? Cause I would be shocked if he ever lied. SHOCKED!

If McGregor wins, then I guess that he relinquishes the featherweight title.

UFC wanna take a chance at making him a champion at multiple weights.

I feel bad for Khabib. Dude was given two contracts to choose between and was told that he's next. Sucks that he was pretty much just used.

Woodley getting booed and Wonderboy getting cheered was beautiful.

Eddie just sounds like he's ready to end McGregor.

Even if McGregor wins, he surely has to defend his featherweight belt the next fight. It's just a joke that he hasn't yet. I mean you gotta give it to Mcgregor, he only won it in December last year and had two awesome fights and is going to another hell of a fight in November, so 4 really tough but unreal matches in less than a year, still no excuse for him to not defend it though.

Wait just read that he will surrender the featherweight title if he wins the lightweight title. Also read Aldo wants his contract with UFC terminated after hearing he isn't facing McGregor. Dunno how true that is or how far it will go but I would be pissed to if I was Aldo. I doubt he wants to be handed the featherweight title to begin with if Conor surrenders it, but I think he also wants revenge on him. I have no doubt in my mind Aldo could beat McGregor, so let's see it happen. The other fight had no % of indication on how a normal fight would turn out.

McGregor gets to keep the title so he can become the first person to hold two UFC titles at the same time. That and promoting the fight as champion vs. champion is a major advantage for the UFC. I get why he gets to keep the title and I suspect he'll drop the 145 if he wins the 155 within a week but it still annoys me. He's holding an entire division hostage.

I think Aldo is in the right here. That fight, which was very anticipated, didn't even get a chance to get started. Aldo deserves a rematch for his title. That was his first loss in 10 years and than he came back and beat a tough Frankie Edgar at UFC 200.

It's kind of ridiculous that McGregor gets to hold the Featherweight belt hostage for a year. Money talks though, I guess.
